There is nothing human being will do to outsmart God, God is God while human is human period! so let them continue their scientific expendition or experiment, God is smarter than all of them join together, and we all have to understand that there is limit to human capacity and capability, and possibility. No human can go beyond the boundary God has given him or her in life.
I believe because man is created in the image and likeness of God is the reason why man has the faculty to create in his own "image and likeness" (robots).

This faculty is a gift from God, and i think it gives God pleasure when we explore this awesome gift to its fullness. The only problem is when we become prideful by arrogating God's blessing to ourselves, abusing it, using it for selfish ends. I also think the big question before God is what is the moral implication of this, does this fit into God's plan for us? if the answer is no then we make ourselves an adversary of God instead of " imitators of God, as dearly loved children" - Ephesians 5:1.

I've been building and programming basic robots lately, am planning to step up with more ambitious project in this field. Believe me, its a wonderful experience and humbling too. its just make me appreciate God the more.

Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected,"Why wasn't this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year's wages." He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it."Leave her alone," Jesus replied. "[It was intended] that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me."

I think the call is misplaced and short sighted. Every region in Nigeria has what it takes to be prosperous our leaders are just being lazy and corrupt.
Have you ever asked yourself why we keep having lazy and corrupt leaders?? I believe in a Confederate Nigeria but if its not possible i'l go for Biafra.

If Nigeria breaks up, the nations that will emerge from it will never be  potentially poor - some will just be richer than others. Poverty will only be a function of mismanagement not resources.

Onlytruth, Beaf, Mazi Eziachi, Obiagu, Dede1 nwoke oma, you people have written beautifully. I'm really enjoying it. I didnt see the war and I'm also quite sure most people here didnt see it too so if sometimes we act over zealous or over optimistic please Mazi Eziachi pardon us. I read from your previous posts that you served for us to be alive and I cant tell you how much proud of you I'am. Your generation deserves all from us because you people gave your all at a time when being Igbo or Eastern means instant violent death in many parts of this country. May God reward you and your generation now and after.

On the issue of minority groups in the east and midwest, I think we can live together in peace if we really and trully want it. If it comes down to it I believe we can have a confedration of Ijaw, Igbo, Efik, etc. We can maintain one army and currency because that will solidify our economy and at the same time project our power to the outside. My people let the past be past, we dont have to 4get it but lets learn from it.

The future of people from east and parts of midwest may not completely be one but its sure joined in the hip.

Onlytruth Nwanne mmadu, pls keep your thoughts rolling.

good for you but he is not mine.

for the ff reasons

ojukwu's finger prints are all over kaduna nzeogwu's coup, you seriously dont think it is a coincidence that such hit pulled by his kinsmen could be largely successful without the blessing of an influential one of them highly placed in the army that was functioning like a cult?

you could remember that the progrom started in the army where some people thought it was a mere rival military cult skirmish.

it is commonsensical to assume that ojukwu a historian from oxford is aware of the UN resolution on genocide enacted in 1950 shortly after the second world war. a tool that could bring gowon to justice if he really cared about the ibos

ojukwu's father was one of the few Africans that enjoyed royalties from british oil companies in the late 50's a feature people like me thought he could have explored to use the british influence to put gowon on a tight leach a move that could have saved countless igbo lives,
it is no news that he pulled the same strings during the hunger era of the war.

ojukwu's agenda at the aburi conference has no single ibo interest. by bamboozling gowon to ratify confederation is an act of WAR an oxford graduate should know better.
how it saves the progrom is what eludes albert einstein.

if the hit in the army had succeeded, the ojukwu boys could have been in total control of the army, since his father has the biggest economic interest in the country, oil and gas not excluded, the smart historian could take a political stage. does the picture fit? army plus economy equals,

oh!! i forgot to add that he wasnt a member of the supreme military council which robs him the right to decide for them who should be the next head of state.

lastly

my heroes dont run, i will chose a hitler anyday over a gallant soldier who forgot his purse on the last plane from Uli enroute ivory coast,
lest i forget, my heroes die in the struggle for what they believe in, for one that has wasted as much lives and took to his heels? hell no!!! he doesnt qualify, i believe he will learn a lot from real heroes in the great beyond.

SNCOQ3 It is a thought but consider this: If an international pharmaceutical company was interested, they'd have to protect their interest. Now let us assume they do send people here, they can't confirm its authenticity until a few years of testing etc under their own stringent conditions. For them to do that they must have some measure of control so they agree to set up shop in Nigeria. Now most likely you'll have to form a company with them or at the very least have some sort of contract. I can assure you that for such a discovery, they wouldn't stop at anything to ensure that it gets patented. If they have to settle then so be it. They don't do these things directly-that's what lawyers are for. They hide such payments in legal fees, and remember lawyer/client relationships are privileged so nobody really knows what's discussed.

Jmoore, please try to be a bit more constructive. It is not enough to say "it is possible" without offering solutions. Maybe it is and I just can't see it but it would help me and others on this thread if you could enlighten us. If we had had this argument 30 years ago, maybe I would agree with you but in today's Nigeria, I just can't see it.

On a second thought, what if you decide to play "international politics" with it to get it patented in Nigeria without "settlement"? Get the world to know about it, the international community will sure send teams of reseachers to confirm your claim, insist you want to patent it in Nigeria,  with the world keenly watching, our agencies will be too embarrased to ask for settlement.

While the Biafran state existed, it beat Nigeria hands down in its handling of information, its depth and global reach. Nigerians
were amateurs and despite their vast resources and support of Britain, USSR, Arab League and OAU dictators, Nigerians made no
dent on the global stage.

But in 1970, the Biafran informational system was dismantled allowing Nigeria's war time propaganda to take root and after 40 years assume the status of the "truth". Every single bare-faced lie they told during the war has become "fact", even written up and taught in schools! Nigerian kids are having their heads messed up big time by idiots.

From population statistics (e.g. Hausa 29%; Yoruba 21%; Ibo 18%)
to ethnograpy, nigeria is built on false foundation. Another good example is the phrase "Ojukwu wanted oil wealth of niger-delta" which has been repeated a billion times. Therefore, those who created Dina Commission and abolished derivation became one nigeria saints while Ibos who stood for derivation became the bad guys.

In fact 90% of ALL onshore oil and gas in Nigeria is located in Iboland! Once oil wells in Ibo areas were carved into other states, a new truth was born.

Next, the very same false population figures of northern nigeria which were contested by the east prior to the war became "fact", used to give disproportionate power and influence to Hausa-Fulanis etc.

Anyway, our elders were completely taken in by false promises of reconciliation. In hindsight, Biafra should have maintained a government in exile and continued to research and disseminate
the truth, knowing fully well that nigeria would implode someday.

He was NOT right simply because it was suicidal!!

@aribisala

I disagree with you that ojukwu was not right with his declaration of Biafra
If you were in his shoes then, what would you have done?
Ojukwu was mlitary governor of the East after the 1966 coups
The revenge coup of July 1966 targetted at the Ibo military officers also was followed by large scale an unending killing of ibo civilians all over the North which the Federal Government deliberately refused to curb. The Easterners could have also retaliated against the Northerners resident in the East but Ojukwu did not allow it.He took steps to protect them and when he was sure he could no longer protect them he ensured that they evacuated the East safely. The Northern Governors failed to take any steps to protect the Easterners in their domain

Would you in Ojukwu's shoes have  continued to keep mum over the extermination of your kinsmen through ethnic cleansing and genocide?
Though the declaration of Biafra was suicidal from the military point as you postulated, it was the only option and it was the perfect option.Yes,it was a risk but it was right.Unfortunately,Biafra failed. It could have also succeeded as similar declarations in other parts of Africa and the world also succeeded.

No one should blame Ojukwu. He was a hero, not a coward and will never be forgotten for his courage to declare Biafra.
God bless you. This is the best on this topic so far.

I rephrase my last sentence

We need to rediscover our true ancestral God or gods. Only then can we find peace and progress.
I believe you need to discover Jesus Christ so you can have Personal peace and progress. For National Peace and Progress, what Nigeria need in is forensic righteousness. in her polity.

My Premise: Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. prov 14:34

Allow me to expound:

Their are 2 aspects of righteousness in the bible:
1. Imputed righteousness - This is purely mystical, it is the regeneration of a man's spirit into a child of God when he accepts Jesus Christ has his Lord and Savior. - This is what you need to have peace and personal progress.

2. Forensic righteousness - This is making decisions in line with absolute moral standards. This moral standard is derived from the 3 aspects of God's Character - Holiness, Love, and Justice. This is what any institution or country need to have peace and progress.

In practical terms,
Holiness is translated to Integrity, Accountabilty.
Love - Empathy, Compassion
Justice - Equity, Fairness

Countries with forensic righteousness in their polity are making progress, religious or not e.g Japan, Isreal, etc.

Countries without forensic righteousness in their polity are failing, in spite of the numerous churches e.g Nigeria etc.

Yes! where are we,

@ Martian

You lost this argument the moment you took it out of context and also subscribing to throwing insults. you're better left ignored.

----------------------------------------------------------

When a Christian debates with an atheist, it has to be realized that you will never win the argument in the classic sense. In other words, the atheist will never admit defeat or concede a point.

Instead they will resort to an ad hominem attack. An ad hominem attack is when they have to resort to a personal insult in order to make their point. For example:

Christian: “The universe shows a great deal of order; therefore, its existence implies an intelligent creator.”

Atheist: “Only id.iots would believe that.”

When the atheist resorts to insults, you have won. What’s important to realize is that continuing to debate beyond that point diminishes your victory. It makes you look small and needy. When an atheist resorts to insults, the argument is over and they have lost it. That is when you need to claim victory and end the debate with that person. Insults in debate indicate a complete exhaustion of ideas.

Of course, this only applies if you, yourself, have not resorted to insults. If you are insulting the person you’re debating, you can’t expect them not to insult back. Whoever throws the first insult in a debate between a Christian and an atheist is the loser.

So, in atheist debates:

Rule#1: Do not personally attack the atheist.

Rule #2: Claim victory and walk away when the atheist insults you.

Where are the so called communist states today? the biggest church in Ukraine is owned by a Nigerian, Leningrad in Russia is back to St. Petersburg, Churches once suppressed in former Soviet Bloc are springing back to life fast. "the opium of the masses" is winning. Isn't that supernatural?
