See Nigerians being played for fools. Does it benefit us taking sides in this matter? At the end of the day, politicians allegiance to the country must take precedence over their affiliation to the party. Stop taking sides and see past the illusion.

Originalsly: That's an international route and everything possible should.be done to keep the traffic moving. Is there nothing that can be done? How much would it cost for 200 meter detour road...which can later be used for emergency/rest stop? Would this not be killing two birds with one stone? Maybe this was all accounted for in the costs of the contract but when time to deliver this is what we get. Remember what happened to viewership rights during the last AFCON where Nigeria stations had to boycott it? They couldnt meet up because the sponsors could not or did not want to afford it

Perhaps you're right but I get the sense that NFF is not operational, they are simply there to scrape and claw at whatever little funds are available. I bet with someone competent at the helm, opportunities will be created where you and i cant see. With a football loving nation of our size you have to question the NFF efforts at reviving our league where millions can be made from sponsorships, domestic/regional TV rights etc
If we can export our entertainment in form of Nollywood and Music, then why not Football?

thelastPope: It doesnt work that way! The NFF is an independent body that gets some fund from FIFA and some from sponsorship. They are not as wealthy as you think. The FG donates some monies to them from time to time but it isnt that much. That is not to say some of them aint corrupt. But they are not that wealthy and most times, do not have enough to run the several competitions from under 13 to super eagles, including the women's teams. With their insistence on being independent, the FG is less and less involved. The presidency had to bail them out the last nations cup. Nigeria national teams do not get sponsorship like the English or French or Brazillian national teams.
