I've always known I didn't want to stay in Nigeria and I was hoping to use Masters to japa after my undergraduate degree but Buhari became President and funds dried up, so I moved on.

But it just kept coming up in my head that I'm wasting my time here because career wise, I wasn't progressing. My mum had told me to try this thing but it seemed difficult and I knew the money wasn't exactly there so I didn't want to stress myself.

One day I reconnected with a childhood friend in PH. We hung out and everything was fine but one week later I had a call from an international number. (Oga had japad to Canada)

We talked for almost five hours on the process etc. This was the turning point for me. (November 2019) I started doing my research on nairaland and by February 2020, I paid for IELTS but then covid happened and everywhere shut down so I relaxed. Didn't write that IELTS until December that year. Everything was going well and I was confident ITA was coming because my CRS was 471 but alas draws stopped happening and I lost hope again.

My IELTS expired and I refused to rewrite because checking the projections, it was a waste of money since my score was not that high plus my birthday was around the corner but I kept seeing people getting PPR then the category draws were announced and my sister advised me to check Healthcare since my noc was closely matched with some professions there.

That's how I wrote another IELTS and less than two weeks after my results were out, I had gotten ITA with the Healthcare draw(my crs was 468, the cutoff was 463).
And that was the beginning of a stressful but fulfilling journey.

On November 28th I got my PPR, almost three months after I submitted my application. God is indeed good 
It has ended in praise.

Please I'll appreciate some advice

I currently have my PR but I plan to land in three months. Should I hold on until I'm in Canada to do my certification in PMP to give myself time to understand the job market there and move accordingly or do you think I should do it here in Nigeria

It’d definitely come. I didn’t get mine on time too. Took about 2weeks after the update on the tracker before I got an update on my gckey. I never got the rfv mail. Just be patient.

I've checked spam and there's nothing there.
I'll give it one more week then I'll call them

I never got the final decision date on my GCKey, many things were still pending. But all complete on the tracker. within 1 week, I got COPR info showing in the tracker, and a few hours later, got the email. Still, my GCKey didn't get any update.

I think he should check his spam folder for the email, and then call IRCC if he doesn't see it.

It's been over a week since my tracker was updated with COPR number and all four areas (Biometrics, Medicals, Eligibility and Background check) have been completed but no PPR yet. Is this normal?

Hello guys, I finally got an update on my profile last week Tuesday. The tracker also has a copr number but I haven’t received the rfv mail and my background check hasn’t changed. I just wanted to confirm if anyone has experienced this, and also does the copr document number mean I have passed all section?
I would really appreciate a response on this. Thanks.

Please I'm confused. I'm supposed to get a gift deed from my mum for one of her properties but she gave the buyer my account details and he has sent it to my account direct but he put her name in description.
Can I go ahead with the court affidavit for sell of property/gift deed that she signed or do I send to her and make her send back to me?

Will the V.O check the senders account?

Please do I need to send a six months account statement if I'm using gift deed

Please can POF for Canada PR come from a buyers account? My mum is selling a property for my POF but she gave him my account details to send the money directly to me. Although she said she'll still do the gift deed and sign

Please boss, I thought its not allowed to do upfront biometrics for express entry. Will there be no issue if I can book biometrics for the day after my medicals since I'll still be in Abuja

I finally got ITA with the health care specialised draw but here's my issue. Is it allowed to book medicals and biometrics together so they're done on one trip. I'm worried about the logistics involved in travelling to Lagos or Abuja twice

I'm currently in the pool and my NOC is one of the health care areas with crs 468 and I have a feeling I might get ITA next week with the specialised draw.
My fear is that I sent in my IELTS for remarking last week and it's not out yet but I know my TRF may change if my score increases.
Will it be an issue if I get ITA before the results come out

Between Masters and PhD which one does one stand A better chance. I have a Masters already

Yes. A number of people have received letters but i dont think its everyone yet

Has anyone heard from NDDC, just called them today and the man that answered said the scholarship is for a January start, but time is going o, maybe they will scratch cbt and do only interviews. do you guys still believe this can work

I think they are still having issues constituting their board and its affecting all areas. Hopefully they can sort it out soon.
If we can do the CBT and interview this month, then January start has a chance

Not now. They will send messages first with invitations for computer based test, then interview those that pass the cut off before the list will be released

The funny things is I actually called them too, immediately the scholarship opened and they told me the same thing.
I told the lady on the phone that securing admissions for September 2023 wasn't open at the time which was true because I had been trying different UK schools for September admissions.
That's why I applied with January admissions instead but our Nairaland siblings started making me feel weird for using January. At the end of the day, everyone should do what they want

Well, whoever the representative is... the person is being paid and is more knowledgeable than the both of us on the topic at hand. I think it would be unfair to just think that they were spreading misinformation. If NDDC can get back to us a month before our programs resume then I'm very sure January is realistic, especially for UK applicants. Meeting up with January is highly possible and with time to spare if they can roll out decisions maybe first/second week of December.

There's no scholarship that requires your offer letter for Sept 2023 (2023/2024 session) on God's green earth that ends application on October 30th, 2022. A scholarship program that says NDDC 2022/2023, isn't for 2023/2024 which Sept 2023 falls under. When I called the person specified January and May offers. It makes sense because May session is still part of the 2022/2023 session.

In any case, you should call them too: +234(0)9137806550... no fear they might be flexible in the end, I'm just trying to make you understand where I'm coming from.

Did anyone receive a notification email from NDDC after submitting their scholarship application?

I doubt most people will have a choice but to defer or change institution because admissions for September in majority of UK universities hasn't started yet. Even the ones that have started are saying it will take 4 to 6 weeks for admission because they have backlog.

It is stated on the NDDC website that deferment isn’t allowed. So I believe it is more wise to choose September 2023 as I feel January doesn’t seem possible. What do you guys think?

I uploaded January start offer letter, if they waste time I'll just defer it to September. That's not an issue, it's still the same university and the same course

How is it not true? I said most schools in UK hadn't started admissions last week and you quoted me to say the exact same thing.

This isn't true sir although most admission will be open this week and early oct for Sept 2023 entry. So one just needs to fasten up everything b4 nddc deadline comes.
Not easy especially if you're applying for PhD admission( considering locating a supervisor, accepting and further applying for admission) but compared to the commonwealth scholarship which will end by oct18, I think one still has time for nddc sha

Please I'm currently on the PR process already but I'm thinking of changing careers to HR when I get to Canada. Should I do a Diploma in Chattered Institute of Personnel Management or Nigerian institute of Management.
And will that Diploma be useful in Canada to get jobs. Please advise
