Democracy is defined as a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. But I doubt if this is tenable in Nigeria.
Everyone has one vote in the normal and sane sense. If every Nigerian uses their vote to vote for someone who will bring about better change, then Nigeria will be a reference case for true democracy.
Politics › Re: Tompolo Donates 32 Vehicles To Pbat Door-to-door Movement In Oyo by SoaringLife01: 10:50pm On Oct 15
Nigerians should look at the bigger picture. Will all this sharing of cars, rice, etc., solve the myriad of problems plaguing us? We have the issue of an energy crisis facing us at the moment vis-à-vis high inflation. Take a survey of ordinary Nigerians out there on the streets regarding their views on the economy; the average answer will be "hardship." Nigerians are in pain!
Celebrities › Re: Real Warri Pikin Cancels Warri Show Over Ethnic Tensions In Delta by SoaringLife01: 10:06pm On Aug 10
BACKGROUND:

Warri as a metropolis has 3 indigenous ethnic groups: Urhobo, Itsekiri and Ijaw.
Warri metropolis is in Warri South LGA.

The Warri metropolis according to the 3 indigenous ethnic groups:

Urhobo :
1. Okumagba Avenue
2. Okumagba Layout
3. Okumagba Estate
4. Deco Road( the popular Robinson Plaza is in Urhobo axis)
5. Ogunu( host to Renaissance, former SPDC IA& Brownhill Event Centre.
6. Edjeba( host to College of Education ,Dom Domingos Secondary School, and Edjeba RA.
7. Okurode-Urhobo( host to Temile Company headquarter office)
8. Otovwodo Agbarha( Agbassa)
9. Igbudu ( host to popular Igbudu market , GKS Salem City, Hausa Quarter & Shell Ramp)
10. Oteghele, riverine community
11. Ukpokiti, riverine community( OML 108 host community)
12. Iyara
13. Odion

Itsekiri:
1. Okere
2. Ajamimogha( under Okere)
3. Ekurede-Itsekiri
4. Ugbuwangue
5. Ifiekporo
6. Ode-Itsekiri
7. Omadino
8. Ubeji
9. Ugbori

Ijaw:
1. Ewein community of Ogbe-Ijaw clan.

Bulk of Warri metropolis belong to Indigenous Urhobos of Warri South LGA.

The two Urhobo kingdoms in Warri South LGA are :

1. Agbarha- Warri
2. Okere-Urhobo.

Warri metropolis shares boundary with Effurun and Ekpan ,both in Uvwie LGA.
Uvwie LGA is entirely made up of Uvwie kingdom.

The Uvwie people speak the Uvwie dialect of Urhobo language. Only Enerhen town speak Udu dialect in Uvwie LGA.

The popular Petroleum Training Institute,Effurun ( PTI) and Federal University of Petroluem Resources( FUPRE),are both in Uvwie LGA.

Effurun is also host to 3 Battalion Army Barracks, Navy Base, and the popular Delta Mall,Effurun.

Ekpan is host to Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company Ltd( WRPC).

The memories of the Warri crises in the late 90s still lingers in our memories.Itsekiris fought against the two Urhobo kingdoms in Warri South LGA.The Itsekiris also fought against the Ijaws during this period as well.

Before the crises, the 3 ethnic groups lived together and inter-married greatly. They are still intermarrying. Chief Ayiri Emami( popular Itsekiri chief ) ‘s wife is an Urhobo from Udu kingdom.

One of the ripple effects of the crises is that the 3 ethnic groups now respect their boundaries. Before now, outsiders have this notion that the Itsekiri king, Olu of Warri sphere of dominance cover the entire Warri metropolis and even Uvwie towns of Effurun and Ekpan. But that is an erroneous belief.Bulk of Warri upland metropolis is Urhobo land.

WADO CITY CONSCIOUSNESSS

“Waado” is a greeting common among the Urhobo people.

The Wado City movement came onboard to stir up the consciousness among the Urhobos of Warri South LGA and Uvwie LGA to mark out their Urhobo identity.

Against this backdrop , all towns in Uvwie LGA should bear the indigenous name ,not Warri. Effurun is not Warri.

The popular Osubi Airport is not even in Effurun nor Warri but in Osubi , Okpe LGA.

WHY THE BACKLASH AGAINST REALWARRIPIKIN

Human society is dynamic. She grew up in Warri metropolis and know the present state of the polarization. She should know by now that Effurun is not Warri.

The backlash was done because of posterity sake.

He'll lose the primary to Chinda massively
He'll complain but won't be able to do anything.
Chinda in the equation ? Chinda is from Ikwerre. Is it only Ikwerre that is the tribe in Rivers State? The governorship slot is for riverine Rivers people, where Fubara hail from.We used to know the Kalabaris politicians to be dogged. What happened to them at this time , the riverine Rivers people want to be short-changed?
Career › Re: Why Do We Use Professional Titles So Much More Than The West by SoaringLife01: 11:27pm On May 08
Professional titles are not obtained on the platter of gold.In the engineering space, only COREN registered engineers are mandated by the Law to use the title of ' Engr. in official documents. This also apply to other countries. Some countries , use the suffix ' PE, at the end of their names. This shows that person is a professional engineer. In Germany and other European countries , they use the title before their name , ' Ing' ( Engr. equivalent in Nigeria).
In Nigeria , medical doctors use the title ' Dr', while in USA, medical doctors end their names with the title ' MD' to show that they are registered engineer.
It is clear that the use of professional title is a global practice. The annoying thing is that quacks and artisans are the ones bastardizing professional titles.Imagine an artisan( welder, panelbeater, mechanic, electrician ) proudly addressing himself as an engineer. How about an agbo seller calling himself doctor.

Crying and weeping in the camp of the enemies. Is this the first time countries are collaborating? Even the US and U.K. have signed many business agreements
Can you compare US and the UK business agreement to Nigeria and the UK deal? Nigeria is at the losing end.
Politics › Do Britain meant well for Nigeria in the Steel Deal? by SoaringLife01(op): 9:34am On Mar 20
"Nigeria, UK Sign £746m Deal to Upgrade Apapa, Tin Can Ports – THISDAYLIVE" https://www.thisdaylive.com/2026/03/20/nigeria-uk-sign-746m-deal-to-upgrade-apapa-tin-can-ports/

"British Steel increases production after signing £70M export deal for Nigeria - British Steel" https://www.britishsteel.co.uk/british-steel-increases-production-after-signing-70m-export-deal-for-nigeria/

With this agreement recently signed by Nigeria leadership , there is no hope of revitalization of steel industry/steel manufacturing in Nigeria.

How can Nigeria attain industrialization state when the steel industry is in comatose state? We are blessed with all the natural resources to achieve a functional steel manufacturing.
Nigeria will now import steel billet from the UK. Delta State Company during its hey days was producing steel billets in large quantities.

Can we now infer that the Western powers deliberately kill our steel industries so we can remain dependent on their steel products?

United Kingdom does not even have iron ore in large quantities compare to Nigeria.
I hope with this deal, Nigeria will not be exporting iron ore to the UK and Western worlds in the future.Nigeria in turn will import the finished steel products.

I don't even see Nigeria government revitalizing the ports in the Niger Delta.( Burutu, Warri, Sapele and PH).Nigerians will still be depending on ports in Lagos State. The proposed Agge sea port at Bayelsa State will be a project for the next government.

When will our political leaders have a long-term strategic plan for our country?
Politics › Re: Power Generation Has Degraded Even More – National Grid by SoaringLife01: 10:52am On Mar 07
Maybe the National Grid should be decentralized. The National Grid is not actually a bad system of power transmission, because it guarantees reliability of power supply.
The Federal government should ramp up energy mix in the power sector. Most of the GenCos rely on natural gas to fire up their turbines to generate electricity. The present production/supply of natural gas to the GenCos is not enough.Government should woo more investors into the Natural Gas production space.
The Hydro-powered turbines should be upgraded to boost up generation of electricity.
Government should encourage wind farms to generate electricity in the Northern part of the country. But the present high rate of insecurity is a major blocker to this option.
Our Transmission Lines should also be upgraded to carry more load.
The DisCos should improve on their services. They should revamp the overhead distribution lines and substations. Most of the distribution substations are overloaded. How can they distribute power to end users efficiently in that state. Most at times the voltage supply is below the stipulated 230V.
Lastly, each state governors should embark on state-owned power generation project ( IPP).Generate power and feed to your constituents. They can make use of the existing DisCos distribution network.

The Kurdish have been fighting for their self independence from Turkiye for years.
I don't think the Kurds in Iran are marginalized compare to their kith and kins in Turkiye.
I would suggest that CIA should not follow this path of divide and rule. They should encourage the existing integration between the Farsi and Kurdish in Iran.
Politics › Nigerians in the Eyes of 2027 Elections Polls Storm by SoaringLife01(op): 10:19am On Mar 07
Nigerians will be going to the polls starting from January 2027.
As we all know Nigeria is tilting towards one party state. The ruling party seems to be smiling and dancing since most of the governors and lawmakers are in the ruling party.
Nigerians are now used to hearing political leaders boasting that they will deliver millions votes for the 001.
The question is are the political leaders the actual determining factor ?
Nigerians are suffering and smiling battling with myriad of national problems ranging from insecurity , epileptic power supply, low economic purchasing power , low level of industrialization , unemployment ,poor road networks, skyrocketing house rents, poor educational system/ infrastructures, sorry-state health system, etc.
With all these problems, will Nigerians open their krokro eyes and vote in the boasting politicians ? After all, the politicians are entitled to just their own votes.
Someone once said that there is no viable opposition party in Nigeria to withstand the ruling party. Apparently it seems to be true.BUT IT IS THE VOTE OF NIGERIANS THAT WILL TELL IF THERE IS ANY VIABLE OPPOSITION PARTY. During the last House of Representative elections in Delta State , an unknown guy( on Labour Party platform) was elected to represent the good people of Uvwie and Okpe in the House of Rep. The two popular contestants( well known female politician in Uvwie and the other well known politician from Uvwie also ) were benched.
Nigerians let's vote wisely in the next elections to make Nigeria great again.

How come AJ allowed someone without a driver's licence to drive him?
Lawyers in the house, is this life sentence commensurate with the driver's offence?
FRSC is too reactive in my own opinion. I have never come across FRSC carrying out sensitization campaign at NURTW-controlled parks, educating drivers the dangers of excessive speeding, overloading, etc. How about some FRSC patrol vans? Your guess is as good as mine.

Fight those behind these bandits and we will see a relative decline in insecurity level in Nigeria.AND ALSO FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD STOP PAYING SECURITY VOTES TO STATE GOVERNORS.Every State governor should look inward on how to fight Islamic jihadists/ bandits in their states.
