Romance › Re: Money Is Not The Prize — The Man Is by socoharley: 9:23pm On Jul 10 |
Solofresh2: Hello fellow nairalanders, I came across a thread by dbull which I need oppose. https://www.nairaland.com/8706180/until-make-money-man-never#139970208
There is a growing belief that a man's value is tied to his wallet. That until he can provide, he cannot be seen as a man. That money makes him the prize. This is a lie.
Money is a tool. It is not a man. A man with money but no character is still a weak man. A man without money but with discipline, frame, and purpose is still a man worth respecting.
The prize is not the wallet. The prize is the man who carries it.
Point 1: Money Attracts — Character Keeps
A man with money can attract women. But money attracts women who want money. It does not attract women who want him. A man with character attracts women who want him — whether he has money or not
Money can open doors. But only character can keep people inside.
Point 2: Money Can Be Lost — Character Cannot
A man can lose his money overnight. A business can fail. A job can end. An economy can collapse. If his value is tied to his money, he becomes worthless the moment he loses it.
But a man with character — discipline, frame, integrity — cannot lose that. Even if he has nothing, he still has himself. That is true value.
A man who ties his worth to his money will never be secure. A man who ties his worth to his character will never be shaken.
Point 3: Money Without Frame Is Just a Resource
A man with money but no frame will be used. He will be drained. He will be seen as a provider — not a partner. He will give and give, and still be disrespected.
A man with frame — even with little money — will be respected. He will not be used. He will not be drained. He will not be taken for granted.
A man with money and no frame is a wallet with legs. A man with frame and no money is a king in waiting.
Point 4: A Man Is Not Defined by His Wallet
A man is defined by his word. His discipline. His ability to lead. His ability to walk away. His ability to build. His ability to protect.
These cannot be bought. They must be earned. And they are worth more than any amount of money.
Money can buy comfort. It cannot buy respect. And without respect, a man is not a man — he is just a source.
Money is not the prize. The man is the prize. And a man is not defined by what he has — but by who he is.
Do not let anyone convince you that your wallet determines your worth. Your character, your frame, your discipline, and your integrity are what make you a man. Money is just a tool. You are the prize. Nicely evaluated even to an illiterates understanding ...kudos!! |

Exousiang01: I disagree with .14. When you call me I will pick the call and say hello, I expect you to introduce yourself. If I am the one placing the call. I will introduce myself as soon as you pick up. I think it should be the other way round. If you are calling someone the onus is on you to speak. Especially when you know the receiver doesn't have your contact. You were called so you should naturally speak first. Picking the call ultimately shows you are on the other end the caller definitely knows you so you must welcome that fact with a "Hello" then pause to hear your caller. |
Nairaland General › Re: Some Common Sense Things You Should Know As An Adult by socoharley: 9:13pm On Jul 08 |
Rapmoney: 1. Asking people when they will get married when you are not very close to them is plainly stupid. Marriage is part of a person's private life. That should not be your concern.
2. Being overweight and big in size and expecting others to squeeze themselves for you in public transport. They are not the cause of your big size. You lack discipline because you eat too much without exercising. Pay for an extra seat instead of inconveniencing others who might have paid same fare as you.
3. Entering a public place with body and mouth odours and expecting people to respect you. You lie! You have already abused and disrespected yourself by entering a public space in such condition.
4. Impregnating a girl, and expecting others to contribute to the upbringing of the child. Do you think your penis is bigger and more functional than theirs?
5. Informing your boss of your resignation over dissatisfaction, and accepting the job back again after he/she pacified you. Na premium sack and disgrace dey front gidigba dey wait you.
6. Fighting someone who will lose less than you if things go wrong. Not every fight is worth the stress.
7. Staring at strangers for too long and in an unnecessary manner. It makes people scared and uncomfortable.
8. Talking to people you do not know about your life in public transport.
9. Do not switch immediately to answering a call while discussing with somebody, without seeking their permission to opt out. When you are discussing with someone and a phone call comes in, excuse the person and take the call. The person is not a tree. He/she deserves to be regarded.
10. When you are walking on a tiny space and someone is at your back moving at a higher speed than yours, give them allowance to pass. They are not your bodyguard.
11. Going on a date and pressing your phone throughout the period. You should have told the other person that both of you would be having a phone pressing challenge instead of a date.
12. Using your fingers to pick your nose and still expecting others to shake you when you stretch out your hand.
13. When you meet someone who is way older than you, allow them to stretch out their hand for a handshake, and not the other way round.
14. When someone calls you on phone, you speak first, except the call is suspicious. Don't keep quiet and allow the caller to speak first.
15. Do not enter someone's house with dirty feet, or use their toilet without flushing. You will never know the stress it took them to put their house in order.
16. When you borrow something from someone, return it after use. Do not allow them to ask you for it or come to you to get it.
You can add yours. Social etiquette 101 for those with poor upbringing |

SmartNYSC: So many childish people nowadays. While I'm not against them divorcing, what's the nonsense about the "my baby is free" post?
If at some point in your life you openly claim to love or respect someone, your stance towards them shouldn't change just because you have irreconcilable differences. If it does, that is an admittance that your words should never to be taken seriously because you clearly don't reason before you say them.
You can be divorced and still have mutual respect for each other. That is maturity. Not all these divorces that one party (mostly females) will start giving the impression that they've been living in hell. 1 million Likes! |
