It was his turn to tell his story.

'First and foremost, I must apologize for not being very honest with you, but I hope you will understand that the circumstance forced me to do what I did. That time I said my father sent for me, there was no such thing.'
He went on to tell her how he first went to Ota to stay with a friend.

'From there, another friend he contacted had invited him to his home state, Ekiti, where he joined a team working for the Commissioner at the Ministry of Transportation. The job was quite good and he had been living a comfortable life.

A while later, he ordered for food. She would not stop staring into his eyes. The wine they took after the meal made her to fuss more over him.

'I wish I can have you as my wife,' he said. 'But the biggest challenge is your uncle. Who knows if he's still after my life as we speak now?'

'If you really love me,' she said, 'you should stop worrying about my uncle.'

He nodded. 'But his factor is a potent one.'

'Do you really love me?' she asked.

He grinned at her. 'Of course, I do.'

'Then, don't worry about anything. I'm a prayer warrior now. I'll commit everything into the hands of God. I'll pray that if it is indeed the will of God that we should be husband and wife, then God should remove all obstacles on the way. I’ll pray that no matter how powerful such obstacles are, God should remove them. I'm sure God will answer that prayer.'

He smiled. 'I didn't realize I was about to be married to a pastor.'

She smiled too. 'We will commit everything unto the hands of God and we will be amazed by the turn of events.'

Bisi remained with him in the hotel room throughout the night and the weekend. They were together as if they were on honey moon.

Sam checked out of the hotel Sunday afternoon. By then, he was completely convinced that Bisi was the woman for him. He gave her some money which she initially declined.

'Come on, have it,' he urged. 'You deserve more than this.'

Reluctantly, she accepted the money. ‘Thanks, honey.’

He waved her bye bye and drove off, thinking what a gem she was.

Three days after his last copulation with Bose, Guba woke up to notice some pain on his scrotum. On examination, he could see that the place had swollen up. Now, what could cause this swelling and this pain? He asked himself. He applied a balm ointment on the affected part. It must be a minor thing.

He dressed up and left for work. At the workshop, he tried to concentrate in his work. Towards noon, the pain had not subsided.

On the contrary, it seemed to have worsened. To his alarm, the scrotum had got bigger. Now, what kind of discomfort and embarrassment was this?

By the following morning when they had still not seen Anfani, Agatha became really worried. In addition to whatever the matron and the university authority would do, Agatha decided to inform Nelson.

She did not have any contact of any of Anfani's relatives. It was Tuesday morning and Nelson was on his way to work when Agatha's call came through.

'Good morning, dear,' she greeted.

'Honey, how're you?'

'I'm not feeling fine. Anfani, my friend and roommate has been missing since Saturday.'

'Really?'

'Yes. Fatty said it's a man they met in the club on Friday that came on Saturday to pick her. Since then, we've not seen her. We tried to contact her numbers but none was going.'

'That's serious,' he said. There was a pause. 'But, you don't need to worry your head, my dear. I'll see what I can do.'

'Please, do something,' she pleaded.

'I will. For now, calm down. There's no need you worry your head.'

Agatha nodded. 'Okay, dear.'

‘I will swing into action at once. Relax your mind.’

Agatha grinned. She wished she could really believe him. ‘Okay, love.’

Kay was the Manager of Pleasure-Zone Restaurant and Bar. In his two years on the job, he had experienced a lot of things - some pleasant, and some unsavory. In his little way, he had been able to manage the place well.

That meant he had succeeded in making good business for his employer. However, in the last couple of weeks or so, business had been dull.

Some of the regular customers such as Femi and Manu had, for reasons best known to them, stopped coming. Juliet too had withdrawn her service and it appeared Princess was following suit.

There was a particular customer who used to come with friends. They knew him as Big Balo. Big Balo would come, order for drinks for himself and his friends and they would all have jolly time.

It was amazing the kind of capacity Big Balo had for drinking. Even after five bottles, he would be as sober as a priest. And he could drink on and on.

Yesterday, Balo, a very valuable customer, had made an unusual request.

'Where is Princess?' he had asked Kay.

Kay had scratched his head. 'It's like she's not coming here again,' he answered.

'What? So, where does she go, now? Make her come o. I miss her already.'

What a thing to say! How could Big Balo say that? Were there no other ladies?

'Get her back, or I'll go where she goes,' Balo added.

‘Are you serious?’

Balo looked at sternly at him. ‘Do I look like a comedian? Get that Princess for me.’

Now, it looked like a light comment, but Kay did not want to take things for granted. Some moments later, he picked his phone to call Princess. Sade was at the boutique where she was now working as sales attendant when Kay's call came through.

'Good afternoon, Princess,' he greeted.

'How're you today?'

'Fine. How're you too?'

'Well, we thank God. I thought you have fully recovered. Why are you not at work?'

Work indeed! Sade thought grimly. She however managed to maintain a cool mien.

'Thank you for your concern, Kay. I'm okay now.'

'So, are you resuming today?'

He made it look like he was asking her when she was resuming work in an oil and gas company.

'No, Kay. I'm not resuming today, and I'm not ever going to resume there again.'

'What! Why?' he almost bellowed. 'Why're you leaving us?'

'I can't continue with that kind of job again. I've turned a new leaf now.'

'Big Balo has been asking of you. He misses you and wants you back in a big way.'

She grimaced. In her mind, she said to hell with Big Balo. She however spoke in polite manner.

'Tell Balo to look for any other lady.'

'But it's you Balo wants!’ Kay was almost yelling. ‘Balo really misses you. Look, from the way he talks, he is ready to spend on you handsomely.'

Again, she felt like saying to hell with Big Balo, but she suppressed the urge.

'Tell him I'm not into that kind of thing again; that I’m a totally different person. Good bye.'

With that, Sade cut the line.

Few minutes to ten, Collins was around to pick Anfani as they had agreed. When Anfani walked majestically to his posh car, she was delighted that many female students that saw her were casting envious glances at her. Wow!

Nelson was in Eddie's house later that Saturday. He brought some wines and champagnes along.

'I'm happy to meet you,' he greeted Eddie by shaking his hand. 'Agatha has told me a lot about you.'

'You're welcome,' Eddie replied as he motioned his guest to a seat.

'I needed to confirm what my daughter told me,' Eddie went on. 'I needed to confirm what Agatha said about the relationship between the two of you. But first, what can I offer you?'
Nelson smiled. 'Water will be okay.'

'Just water?'

Nelson nodded. 'Yes, just water.'

Eddie ordered the house girl to bring a 150 cl. cold bottle of water with a glass cup.

Some moments later, Nelson dwelt on the main reason why he had come.

'I love Agatha, and I want to marry her,' he said. 'I know there's a wide age gap between us, but then, it's my firm belief that love conquers all.'

He went on to tell him about his family, his first wife and children. 'Loving Agatha matters a lot. I'm ready to give her all the love she deserves. I will give her the best of love a man should give a woman.'

Eddie nodded. He needed no further confirmation.

'I needed to be sure she is in the right hand. I needed to be certain she's not manipulated,' Eddie said.

'She's in the hands of a man that loves her,' Nelson asserted.

Monday was always a busy day for Agatha. Her lectures started nine in the morning. By noon, she would have a break. By one o'clock, she would resume lectures.

It was three o'clock that the lectures would finally end. During the recess she had at noon, she went to a nearby eatery to eat. She then relaxed in a lecture room and resumed her lectures by one p.m.

It was few minutes after three o'clock that she went back to her hostel room. To her surprise, she discovered that Anfani had not returned to the campus since Saturday.

'That's quite strange,' Agatha told Mene, her second roommate. 'Normally, she should be back latest by Sunday evening.'

She picked her phone and dialed Anfani's two known numbers. None could get through. Concerned, Agatha went to Fatty's room.

'Where's Anfani?' she asked as if the latter was Anfani's care-giver.

'You mean she has not come back?' Fatty thoroughly looked ruffled.

'Oh my God! I warned her. I warned her not to go out with Collins or whatever his name is on Saturday!'

'What're you saying?' Agatha was nonplused.

'We met a man at the club on Friday who showed great interest in her. He called his name Collins. On Saturday morning, he was around to pick her for outing.

Over the night, I had a bad dream about her and I came to warn her not to go with the man, but she accused me of jealousy. That was the last time I saw her.'

'This is serious,' Agatha said.

Had he not resolved that he would never have anything to do with her or any married woman again?

'Bose, Bose, I must say that you look sweet this morning o,' he said.

'I'm always looking sweet,' she replied. 'I wonder what could be my offence that you're ignoring me.'

'Ah, well, I don't know what is happening to me self,' he said.

'If it is anything that I have done wrong, why don't you forgive and forget? Why can't we continue the sweet moments we used to have together again?'

At that moment, Guba forgot all about the experience he had had. Whatever was put on her must have worn itself out by now, his mind reasoned.

After all, the incident happened many months ago. Time and other circumstances must have neutralized whatever was on her.

He moved closer to her and spanked her bum. She smiled to encourage him on. He spanked her again, but that was not enough for the hand as it made its way to her boobs.

At the back seat of the car he was trying to fix, they had each other like a couple sex-starved and crazy to satisfy their lusts.

On Friday, Sam left Ado Ekiti around noon. As he drove to Lagos, he imagined so many things. What if Bisi was pretending to love him and was setting a trap for him? He shrugged.

Except he was shot, it was not going to be easy for anyone to get him killed. Physically, he was strong. A matter like this however went beyond physical strength.

He would have to be mentally alert and used his intuition. So far, his mind said he should go ahead and not worry. He got to Lagos about four o’clock in the late afternoon.

He had decided that he would lodge in hotel somewhere in Ikorodu. He knew the owner of the place and had used the service of the hotel in the past. Somehow, he felt he would be secured by lodging there.

The room he rented was decent. He settled himself down and picked up his phone to call his love.

'Hello dear. I'm already in Lagos,' he told her.
'You're welcome, darling. How was the trip?'

'Not bad. I'm lodging at Canary Hotel, not far from Ikorodu General Hospital. It's along the main road.'

'I know the General Hospital,' she said.

'Good. It's not far from the place. It's by the right towards Ikorodu Round About.'

‘I’ll be on my way,’ she declared.

About thirty minutes later, the receptionist called the room number to inform him that a lady visitor by the name Bisi was waiting for him.

'Send her up pronto,' he said.

A minute later, there was a short knock at his door. He opened it.

'My baby,' he said upon seeing her.

'My sweetheart.'

They kissed and hugged each other like he had been away for years.

'Gosh, you're looking more beautiful,' he told her.

'And you're looking so fresh,' she returned.

They were happy to see each other, no doubt.

'There's one prayer I've been making,' she said.

'What prayer?'

'I've been praying that those Ekiti babes would not succeed in snatching you away from me.'
He laughed easily and drew her closer to himself. 'Don't worry, darling no babe, whether from Ekiti or where ever will succeed in doing that.'

'Do you really want me to believe that? Can I take what you have said as a promise?'

He nodded. 'Yes, you can take my words as promise. I will always love you.'

They sat together on the sofa in the room. 'Tell me, how's life in Lagos since I left?'

She told him the details of the visits of Chief Kashi and a man that called himself Guba to the house. She also expressed her fears about him and how she became discontent with his communication cut-off.

But along the line, she said she had been praying that all would be well with him. She was very excited to have him with her right now, she concluded.

It was his turn to tell his story. 'First and foremost, I must apologize for not being very honest with you, but I hope you will understand that the circumstance forced me to do what I did. That time I said my father sent for me, there was no such thing.'

CasNova:
We got to be lazy. We got to slack off. It was a little like a staycation, and doing all that was nice for about week, maybe two. But two weeks became three. Three weeks became four, five, and six.

There had beennoclasses during Spring Break, which meant that by now we’d caught up on everything good to watch on African Magic or Yoruba movie and now were left with the crapnoone would’ve watched if we weren’t trapped in our house because of the pandemic, and a lot of those movies were bad. Maybe it was time to try Hulu.

I mean, we got out of the house a little. The stay-at-home order had been lifted after three weeks, and we’d started to do a lot of hiking and biking on the weekends. It was a great way to get some fresh air while staying in areas where Bukky could easily maintain six feet of social distance.

Arin and I traded off getting the groceries. We’d also played tennis for the first week before the city closed all the courts. But it wasn’t enough. not nearly enough.

And yeah, we had started to get pretty sick of each other.

I take that back: Arin was still pretty happy to have me around. that probably had something to do with Bukky turning into a righteous bitch and me defending Arin whenever she called her out on it. But my little cousin and I had al way s got along pretty well.

Bukky had been a domineering big cousin since we were toddlers, so Arin and I had long held an “us versus her” mentality. We had similar tastes in music and movies and could often be found watching African Magic together.

We enjoyed playing board games, or at least had enjoyed them before becoming teenagers and getting distracted by teenage things. Now trapped at home for days on end, we’d rediscovered the nostalgic joy of playing them again.

We even made a few TikTok videos together. Separated from our regular friends, we had naturally turned to each other for conversation.

But Bukky had been in her own world, isolating herself from me and Arin for the most part. She had the streaming apps on her iPad and preferred to watch movies in bed. She was constantly on the phone, and some days it seemed like she only emerged at mealtimes. It was as if she had kept one foot out the door back to school, to her friends, and of course to her boyfriend.

More than once I would pass by her locked bedroom door at night and hear her moaning as she had the media platform sex with her boyfriend. I would al way s quickly move on. Empirically, I knew my cousin was really sexy.

She had the body of an Instagram influencer, the kind that crammed overly large tits into tight sports bras and took a lot of photos of their juicy butts in tight spandex. But I would much rather jerk off to internet porn than eavesdrop on my bitchy cousin like some kind of pervert.

Speaking of the internet, Pornny had practically become my Safari homepage. I had done alright for myself at college, with three girlfriends over the past two years, one of them lasting for six months. There had also been two one-night stands after parties with super-hot drunken sluts. I had a pretty big schlong and I knew What to do with it.

Success breeds more success, and walking around with the confidence of a young man who had bedded some smokin’ hot babes had earned me my most recent girlfriend, Beauty.

Beauty and I had also tried the media platform sex, but unfortunately, we’d both found it sorely lacking. Further, we really didn’t have a whole lot in common besides sex. We didn’t have the same circle of friends, didn’t have similar interests in conversational topics, and to make a long story short, we both agreed to take a break from each other for as long as this pandemic lasted.

If and when we were both able to return to campus, we’d meet up and see if the chemistry was still there. If so, great. If not, we’d wish each other well and move on.

For the first week after that, I probably filled six tissues a day watching Pornny or reading erotica. The week after that, I probably filled eight or nine tissues a day.

But even that started to get old after a while, and I decided my time was better spent on video games, streaming movies, and playing board games with Arin.

As for Arin ... Well, actually, I’m not sure What Arin did all day. She didn’t lock herself up in her room like Bukky, for sure, but whenever I was in my own room playing video games or doing ... myself ... I didn’t much pay attention to What my little cousin was up to. I imagined she was doing the same things as me: reading, streaming movies, and doing ... herself...

I didn’t really want to think about that last part. She was my little cousin. that’s just gross.

She nodded as she was not surprised to hear that.

'Have you got something to do?’ she asked.

‘You can send me your account details so I can send some money to you.'

Sam suddenly felt she was a gem. Now, he would just have to have her back fully.

'I appreciate that,' he replied. 'But don't worry, I've got something to keep me going.' He paused briefly and added: 'I miss you.'

'I miss you terribly,' she said.

He thought fast. 'I can come around to Lagos this weekend. Then, we'll see.'

She was instantly delighted. 'That will be awesome.'

He grinned and nodded. 'Alright, I'll be calling you to let you know my movement.'

'Alright, love.'

* * *

That evening, Guba was not a happy man. His state of unhappiness had nothing to do with his unaccomplished task. As a matter of fact, he had started forgetting about looking for Sam or scheming to terminate him.

Months after Sam had disappeared; he had started to become a forgone issue. What presently caused Guba's unhappiness was the attitude of his wife.

About two months ago, she had returned to Lagos with the first child and the baby. Of course, he was glad to have her back. But since then, she scarcely allowed him to have sex with her in the night.

At first, she complained that she had some tears on the vagina during the last delivery and it would take time for the part to be healed.

Later, she complained that they should stop making love as it was too painful! This evening, as Guba's right hand moved to her lactating breasts, she held his hand.

'We have to stop doing it for now,' she said.

'Me, I don't understand you o,' he grumbled. 'I don't understand you at all. How can you say we should not do what we're expected to do?'

'We should stop doing it for now, that's what I'm saying.'

The two children were already asleep. It was a time they could have each other without inhibition, but she was not keen about that.

Sherifat moved further away from him. This got him annoyed but he suppressed his anger. Alright, she would have her way tonight.

Tomorrow, it would be his turn to have his way. He would have to fully resume with his extra marital lovers.

He was quite an unhappy man as he let her be that night.

Later in the morning, he was sullen as he dressed up for work. The money he dropped could hardly meet the needs of his wife and two children, but he felt that was the best that he would do.

He got to the workshop early. His apprentice had not come, but he didn't need to wait for him before he started working on the last car he had started working on.

He changed from his house wears to the overall that he used at the mechanic workshop. He was fastening the buttons when Bose, the bread seller came around with a tray of fresh loaves of bread.

'Good morning, oga Guba.'

'Good morning, Bose. Give me the usual big loaf.'

She brought the tray down, selected a big loaf, used a knife to slice through, and added some butter to it.

As she stooped to do all this, Guba could see her cleavage. That sent signal to his manhood immediately. But he remembered the trouble he went through the last time he had sex with her.

Her heart raced in excitement. 'Yes. I sent a message to someone by the name Bayo about Sam.'

'I'm Bayo.'

'Oh, good to hear from you. Can you be kind enough to give me Sam's current number?'

'Who're you to him?'

'I'm his good friend and I want to re-establish contact with him.'

There were seconds of silence. 'Alright, I'll send his current number to you.'

She was excited. She would have loved to ask him some questions about Sam, but she needed to thread softly. 'I will appreciate it if you can do that,' she said.

The line was disconnected. Bisi saved the number that just called her. A discerning person would have called his brother and told him that a certain lady by the name Bisi was asking for his number.

He would further ask if he should go ahead and give her the number or not. Fortunately for Bisi, Bayo was not a discerning person. Few minutes after the line was disconnected, he sent a text message containing Sam's new numbers.

Bisi felt like she had just received an American visa. Without wasting time, she dialed one of the numbers. Sam, shocked that the caller was Bisi, picked the call after the third ring.

'Hello,' he said.

'Hello dear. Have you forgotten about me? Do you know who's calling?'

'Of course, Bisi. How could I forget about you?'
She smiled and relaxed a bit. 'But you didn't call me for months now.'

He sighed. 'Yes. I wanted to avoid complications.'

'Love conquers complications.'

He was silent.

'Do you have any reservations about me, apart from the fact that chief is my uncle?'

'Apart from that factor, I think you're a very desirable lady.'

'If that is the case, fear not. I love you, Sam.'

He grinned to himself. But how did she get his number? She hadn't said that. Alright, she said she loved him. At least, he liked her too.

'The feeling is mutual,' he said. 'I love you too.'

There was a brief silence.

'How did you get my number?' he asked.

She laughed shortly. 'I think what you should ask is not how I got it but why I did.'

'Why did you get it?'

'It's not to betray you to anyone. It's because I care.'

He was touched by what she said. Not done, to his shock, she started sobbing on the phone.
'Oh, it's okay,' he said. 'I'm sorry I acted the way I did. It was based on self-preservation.'

'I would never betray you,' she sobbed.

'Never.'

'Hey, you don't need to do that. I didn't say you will betray me.'

'You didn't say it directly, but you've indicated it. You've implied it several times.'

'I'm sorry, dear. Please don't feel bad. Try to see things from my own point of view too.'

She stopped the sniveling. Well, whether her action was real or not, he decided he would have to take the risk of giving her some trusts.

'I'm presently far away from Lagos,' he informed.

She wanted to ask him where exactly he was, but decided against it. It would be better if he revealed it on his own volition.

'I'm in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.'

She nodded as she was not surprised to hear that.

Earlier, Anfani had told Fatty that she would be spending the whole weekend with her boyfriend. She expected Anfani to politely decline Collins' offer, but this was not to be.

'Why not?' Anfani answered. 'I'm free for the whole weekend.'

'Oh, that's very good. I'll come around tomorrow morning by ten. I hope that time is okay by you.'

'Sure.' She nodded.

'Meanwhile,' he dipped his right hand in his trousers pocket, 'you can have this little thing for now.' He brought out a bundle of one hundred naira notes. 'You and your friend can have this for now.'

'Oh, thank you so much,' Anfani gushed.

'Thank you, sir,' Fatty said.

'Oh, it's a small thing,' he said condescendingly.

'Anfani, see you tomorrow.'

'Sure thing,' she repeated as she and Fatty got down from the car. They waved at him and moved inside the hall.

'Oh, yes,' Anfani said excitedly. 'I've been praying for the kind of luck Agatha has. Now, God is obviously about to answer my prayers.'

'Really?' Fatty said cautiously.

'Of course, is it not obvious?' She looked at the money in her hand. 'I know this is just the beginning of many good things that will still come. Now, how do we share this money?'

'Just give me any amount you think I deserve,' Fatty said. They went to Anfani's room. As soon as they stepped inside the room, Anfani counted thirty pieces and handed them to her friend. Fatty took them and put them in her purse, without any opposition.

'Thank you,' she said. 'And goodnight.'

Early on Saturday morning, Fatty was back in her friend's room.

'Anfani, I think you should not follow that man, Collins, or whatever his name is.'

'I know you'll say this,' Anfani retorted. 'I saw the big jealousy on you since yesterday. It was written all over your face!'

'It's not about jealousy,' Fatty quickly said. 'The dream I had about you is not a good one. I think you should not follow him out.'

Anfani burst out laughing. 'You see your life? You see what envy and jealousy will make you do?'

'But, Anfani, I'm serious.'

'Listen, Fatty, I beg you in the name of the Lord not to pour san san for my garri. Since when did you become Joseph, the dreamer? Please, if you don't have good things to say, go away.'

‘But …’

‘Hey, no but. Leave me alone, please.’

‘I’m only trying to counsel you as a friend.’

‘Keep your counsel, Fatty.’

Fatty realized the futility of her effort. She let Anfani be.

Few minutes to ten, Collins was around to pick Anfani as they had agreed. When Anfani walked majestically to his posh car, she was delighted that many female students that saw her were casting envious glances at her. Wow!

She thought briefly. 'I will have to contact him. If it is possible, he will come around tomorrow, Saturday.'

Eddie nodded. 'That is okay by me. That is very okay.'

* * *

That Friday evening, Anfani and Fatty were at the Queenzy Club to do what was becoming a regular weekend gig. Even among the crowd, Anfani could notice a particular guy that kept staring at her.

There were four of them doing the show, but the man's eyes did not leave her for once. Not surprisingly, after the show the man was waiting for her at the manager's office. It was almost a replica of what happened when Nelson showed interest in Agatha.

Once again, Cyril was playing the role of moderator.

'I'm Collins,' the man said. 'And I'm pleased to meet you. Your dance is as fascinating as your beautiful body.'

'Thank you,' Anfani replied.

'Where do you stay?' he asked. 'I'll like to know you more. I'll definitely like to see you again, not exactly in a place like this, but somewhere more discreet and private. Where d'you stay, queen?'

Anfani was very excited about his zeal. 'I'm a student of Lagoon-View University.'

'Oh, that's very good. But you've not even told me your name.'

'I'm Anfani. My friend here is Fatty.'

He shook hands with them. 'Are you going back to campus? I can give you a ride.'
Campus was not their exact destination that evening, but Anfani nodded in affirmative.

'Good, let's go,' he said.

They went out of the club. His car was a glistening Porsche car in the car lot. Even in the night, the car was glistening.

There was no doubt that it was a very expensive wonder on wheels. Fatty went to the back seat while Anfani stayed with Collins at the front.

The two chatted excitedly as if they had known each other for years. Fatty was taciturn and would have totally withdrawn to her shell if not that Anfani occasionally prodded her to answer a question or confirm a statement.

Many minutes later, Collins parked the car in front of their residential hall.

'It has been such a wonderful night, Anfani,' Collins said. 'Having your company has made my day.'

'It has been such a wonderful thing to meet with you too,' she replied.

'Can I come around tomorrow morning to take you out? I want this to be the beginning of a very loving relationship.'

Earlier, Anfani had told Fatty that she would be spending the whole weekend with her boyfriend. She expected Anfani to politely decline Collins' offer, but this was not to be.
