Good afternoon Mamas It's your girl again o. My baby is about two weeks now. Initially she cries for food after every two/three hrs. But I noticed since yesterday she's been sleeping more both at night and day. My concern now is when I notice it's over four hours she's been sleeping, I try to wake her up to eat, she sucks for a minute or two and go back to sleep. Eg. today she's had just one proper feeding session of about 20 minutes sucking. I have even changed her diaper with the hope she will Wake to eat, but she just sucked for about 2 minutes and went back to sleep. Pls mothers what can I do? I am concerned she's not getting enough nutrients. Coz I googled and saw babies should feed 8-12 times daily with a min nursing time of 20 minutes per feed for breast fed babies. Please what do I do? Btw 1pm and 2pm I have tried to wake her up about 3 times, but she's just enjoying her sleep. |

Good evening mamas in the house, Pls I need your help once again o. I need a non cultural based guidance on care of belly button (navel) after the umbilical cord falls off! I googled and Google says just to leave it except clean any secretions if found... I have heard so many different versions, like use hot fabric to press the Navel, tie stones to fabric etc. Grind the fallen cord etc... Pls can someone educate me on the proper and adequate/necessary care. Coz my baby's cord fell off on Thursday, and I am concerned I am not doing the right thing. Also pls how long will it take for the Navel to heal properly! Pls note I am asking despite Google coz, I remember Google said I don't need alcohol (spirit to clean cord) just damp cotton is adequate, but I latter read somewhere that alcohol could be used in developing countries (Nigeria is one) where there is high susceptibility to infection. Pls educate me. Thanks. |

Hello Mama's, Pls which of Purit or Savlon is milder/safer/recommended for neonates? |
Years from now, Seun Ilegbusi of Akoko, if God spares his life will be yarning a similar story if not worse... Regardless he will never set eyes on his Child! |
Guyman02:Your friend's mum is one of the best women in the world. Rather than take it out on the poor girl like some foolish women do, She was gentle with the girl and took it out on her son. These are women I look up to. |
emmaversity:All these for just 10 thousand naira? Let's be fair! Quality academic research work is time consuming, it's diff. from creative writing... It's well. |
Kriss216:Funny, I understand the blood is thicker than water is actually "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" meaning bonds made by choice are more important than familial bonds |
You can buy things like clothes(second) or undies(male/female), perfs and body sprays and sell in the hostel to students. I did something similar in 2013. And it was amazing. The good part of it is you just go to market your wares when it's convenient. Just avoid selling on credit as much as you can (it might not be avoidable, but ensure its minimized). All the best. |
Can it run errands? What exactly is it's function asides recognizing owners face? Coz I don't seem to understand it's precise function. |
FERNANDEZISBACK:Honestly, whatever happened to simply ignoring him and leaving the Church? I dislike pastors who curse/threaten to curse members for not contributing money. But why beat him? Ppl are just crazy these days. |

[quote author=STONEUS post=108647763][/quoth Hopefully soon. The parents came to carry him immediately I landed from hospital on account of him beating me to bleed while pregnant. They said he's gentle so his beating me to bleed during pregnancy is my fault. They harassed me the night I was landing from hospital and took him away and asked me to go bring my parents And I told myself that's it. And I chose to curse them and move on . The reason for the fool beating me was coz: We agreed we keep preg private at the time till it starts showing given it took about 10 months b4 I conceived, only to see he's been sending chats back and forth with his ppl I was pregnant and even mocking me I was vomiting (I was in a bad shape then always throwing up, could barely eat, hospital visits wasn't helping coz it didn't change the nausea & vomiting)... I challenged him and he continued mocking me and said he's told everyone & I should do my worst. And that's how argument started and his usual response was beating me, which he did till I started bleeding. I was diagnosed with Threatened abortion, and admitted, yet as I was landing from hospital, his parents were outside shouting at me... I kept audio clips of their madness. Forgiveness or not I can't reconcile with such wicked shameless ppl! Very wicked unreasonable ppl still exists on earth. And the Ilegbusi family from Oka Akoko top the chat, coz it beats my imagination how a whole family could be foolish all at once! Everyone listening to audio clips I took during the course of the marriage keeps Wondering how a whole family could be that evil (I started keeping audio records when things started getting complex)... Anyone who thinks I am bitter is entitled to their opinion. I curse Oluwaseun Ilegbusi unto destruction according to Psalm 35. Coz even before marriage I told him I dont believe in marriage after divorce until other partner is dead. I believe it's coz of people like Seun certain scriptures exists! |
danny34:Your opinion You are entitled to it |
When I read generalized posts like this, I am always careful drawing opinions. Coz there are multiple sides to a story... Well from the OPs write up, it's apparent his wife and siblings don't get along well... But OP never stated reasons, or gave instances. If you check well the reason they don't get along might not necessarily be the wife's fault. Judging from my experience of how overly entitled the relatives of African males can be. I remember my useless mother inlaw telling me she bought me with her money and can do whatever she likes to me, despite my parents sponsored the wedding down to cloth her son wore on wedding day, I paid rent that we live in, my parents as a tradition don't collect bride price... My husband came with incomplete yams and very empty box I rejected on wedding day despite I and my parents foot all bills and I even paid over 70% of rent o(I basically paid rent and he paid agreement fee and co coz he begged not to postpone wedding coz covid 19 affected his finance etc... Plus my parents particularly my mum kept pressuring it's bad omen to keep shifting wedding date). So I don't Know what the evil Aduni Ilegbusi (ex mother inlaw) feels she bought me with! This same inlaw I arranged Xmas package for despite their son refused to drop money asking me if it's only December they will be eating "onje Omo", despite I got married to their son in August and take gifts there even before December, but December was when I took bulk shopping... Same ppl I sent biscuits to their grandson, and the motherinlaw called me the next weekend I went there, that the biscuits I sent to posi, she went to look for it, it's 1250 naira, it's too expensive, that's how their son will not build house... She bought cabin biscuit instead, so I should be buying cabin... Now same useless inlaw whose daughter got pregnant twice outside wedlock and wears bumbshots telling me who married her son a virgin that my knee length wear is too short... All manner of madness demands within one year of marriage. Stupid inlaws vexing I only come visit during weekends. I explained I work from home during the week. Yet it didn't sit well with the useless ppl. Now same man(rather 37 yrs old foolish boy) comes saying I hate his parents... Blabla... The marriage got broken (Story for another day) And I curse them! Yes, curse be unto the Emmanuel and Aduni Ilegbusi family, parents of Oluwaseun Ilegbusi who reside in Kajola, berger(Akoko crescent). May their immediate biological daughters never enjoy Marital bliss for their wickedness to me. Fact is sometimes the relatives of African males just want to Subjugate the woman! And when you can't be Subjugated they tag you bad. As for the Ilegbusis', I will still open a thread here on Nairaland on their story, but today is not the day. I just know Oyinade and Busayo (their 2 daughters) will never enjoy Marital bliss in Jesus Name! According to psalm 35, so shall it be unto Seun Ilegbusi for he and his family's wickedness to me. |
There is always multiple sides to a story. Each person's sides and the truth. I watched Madam Tina and her husband's story on Facebook... https://fb.watch/9_tjVkD0vF/ I don't believe anyone absolutely, but the truth lies between Chichi's story(the baby's mother) and Madam Tina's story. All I can say is the baby's mother is not free of blame! |

Good morning all... I am new on this thread, I applaud all the good works of kind selfless ppl on this thread and it's previous. I have seen so many testimonies and I pray to get mine soon. Pls I would like gurus in the house to suggest schools I can apply for full sponsored PhD scholarship in "water resources and environmental engineering". My masters is in water resources and environmental engineering with excellent PhD grade... But my first degree is in civil engineering with a poor 2.2 (my major concern and fear of obtaining a full sponsored scholarship). My plan is is to be able to prepare and meet up for the 2022/2023 academic session. I just need councels generally... My desired country of study is Canada, nonetheless any other reasonable locations are welcomed... Thank you upfront. |
Reading all these comments of you must submit to your husband ... Some even claiming to be Christian's yet insulting OP coz they feel she's not submissive enough. And I am wondering why carry another person matter for head to the point of insulting her just coz she asked for opinion on a public forum. Be like na only Colossians 3:18, Ephesians 5:22-24 and other submission scriptures the ppl abusing Op know. What about Jude 9? I guess that's not for some of the "judges". Now truth is there will always be times a woman may not be able to and should not submit to her husband! 1st Sam 25. The story of Nabal and Abigail. Infact Abigail even called her husband a fool. God no punish her, rather na same Nabal God kill set Abigail free and gave her to better husband in person of David! And God bless her in David's home! As to the church matter, me self I am currently experiencing such. Before I got married, I lived in Abuja while my now hubby resides in Lagos. I asked about his church, even attended once when I came to meet his parents in Lagos and I didn't notice so much, we went late. But upon getting married I realized so much that contradicts my current believes! Personally I just love to worship in a Bible (word) based church rather than prophet based ministry, miracle based ministry etc. I am not interested in anointing oils, water etc. When the name of Jesus is enough, I don't need such anymore. I don't like churches that place so much emphasis on GOs (infact before marriage I told hubby I don't like GO churches). He said his church was like CAC, but apparently it's a GO church. I love Christ to be the center of worship, I just hate the concept of so much reverence to humans which is always the case in so many GO churches... A church that places money above welfare of members is a no no for me. I can't even go into details. Plus I believe and understand that church is not what we need at the moment for our family growth. Honestly it's not helping our union in anyway! Plus many other things I can't begin to type. I expect that my husband as a head of the family who should love his wife and home as Christ loves the church, should be interested in our total well being, our growth rather than arrogantly insist on what doesn't work for his home!... Life is about give and take. even the scriptures has pointed two can't work together except they agree. And that should be the focus of leaders. A common agreement. When my parents were newyly married,my mum was cele, my dad deeper life. My mum tried attending deeper, but she couldn't flow, my dad off course couldn't attend cele. So he said they should pray and watch, God will direct them. Some how someone invited my dad for a prog in CAC, he took my mum along... And that's how they both fell in love with CAC, and realized this was something both could work with. Rather than only my dad being blessed in deeper life. And from time to time he attended Deeper life prog, even buys deeper life cassettes to listen to. And he actively participated in CAC prog, became a youth cord, a Sunday school teacher, my mum equally became well integrated and became a Sunday school teacher, and they eventually both grew in faith in agreement; off course in responsibilities in the church!... I am not saying every home must take my father and mum's route. But there has to be place of agreeing together to actually efficiently work together and grow together. God bless us all. |
I dedicate today's Fathers's day to wonderful aged men who despite not bearing any biological children of theirs & may never, or may have lost all of theirs; yet have remained rainbows in many's clouds. They have not allowed their circumstances deny them the joy of fatherhood; as they have nutured, cared for & loved so many sometimes more than a birth father would or could. They have remained sweet turning their lemons to lemonades, loving every soul they meet with love so pure & void of prejudice; endearing themselves to the heart of the many souls they meet! My take is, probably God knows they are already Fathers to many was why He didn't bother restricting them to children by birth. God bless you all. |
