Hmm. And we want to be among the successful nations when we are still this backward and barbaric with fetish beliefs. I see comments mocking the South West and South East that your region is more fetish than mine. Is something not wrong somewhere?? Can we get credible leaders when the soil of the land is soaked with blood of the innocent for fetish purposes? We're not ready yet. |
Omezif:The residents are the real winners |
BigBashiru:Animals are not greedy, they only eat what they need. Some humans are actually worse than animals. |
Your neighbour beat up your son and you decide to slap your wife to let the neighbour know you're not happy. That's what those looters did yesterday. Looting those shops will not resurrect the dead so I don't get why anyone should be happy with such. |
From the comments I wonder if anyone bothered to read the story. That's the family business that supported him at school, he's yet to serve and start making his way, what are the opportunities where he lives. The moral of the story is there are sometimes diamonds in the rough if you look well. Like the Dr. said, he'll need mentoring. Read and be inspired not just to criticize. Don't let Nigeria deform your reasoning. |
kidman96:That's what I don't understand. A private vehicle on lagos roads conveys about 2 people on average, a typical danfo carries at least 10. If you're serious about public safety which should be your target. Or its only about revenue generation. |
And this man was a minister of the Federal Republic. Amazing the kind of leaders this cesspool of a society can throw up. And when a white man calls you a monkey you get upset. SMH. |
Op, you nailed the matter on the head. Simple English comprehension is beyond some people. 30℅ is a lot, 40% is a lot, I don't see how that means "most" or "all". The APC government has been poor, that does not mean we should be intellectually lazy and not understand statements in plain English. The President was referring to the rent seeking mentality among some youths such as the Omoniles or The Niger Delta youths who expect to be paid allowances for doing nothing because they believe the county is rich and owes them. Was the President lying? |
ewebiodun:By that reasoning a wife whose kidnapper/armed robber husband brings goodies home should be happy the husband is contributing to the economy of the home. We should start encouraging stealing as an Industry in Nigeria because it's contributing to the economy. We've lost our values, the stealing leaders did not drop from heaven, they're a reflection of what our society has become. |
The article's argument is quite flawed. 1. No matter the club messi moves to (City, Psg, Bayern) he'll still be surrounded by the best players in the world just as he is at Barcelona. Cause those are the only clubs that can afford him anyway. Don't expect him to sign for West Ham United. 2. The great Pele was surrounded by all time greats like Garrincha, Tostao, Revelino without which I doubt he would have won 3 world cups. It's a team sport after all. (That's why Maradona is probably the greatest ).3. He only needs that world cup next year to cement his place along side Pele and Maradona. Typical British article cause he didn't sign for Man City. |
HAH:It amazes me how people reason like that. When a southerner is appointed they start analysing where he's from, but anyone from the North, it's all the same to them. You will always develop headache if you reason that way. Besides, how does the person's state or tribe determine his effectiveness on the job. |

Why not mandate all ministries and federal agencies to procure only made in Nigeria vehicles and see if the local plants can cope with the demand, instead of pushing the burden on the citizenry. |
