Ghanaian star Kevin-Prince Boateng has blasted his brother saying he wants nothing to do with him again after the former Bayern star was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend recently. Boateng recently appeared in a Munich court for a domestic violence incident that took place in 2018 while he was on holiday with his ex-girlfriend in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The 2014 FIFA World Cup winner was found guilty and fined €1.8 million for his actions, although he managed to escape a jail sentence. His brother Kevin-Prince has now insisted he wants nothing to do with him anymore. “I’ve already distanced myself from Jerome [Boateng] for a long time,” he told Bild. “I appreciate and respect German law. I despise violence against women. “I don’t identify with the actions of my brother and therefore I have nothing to do with him anymore.” Kevin-Prince, who currently plays for Hertha Berlin, has reportedly not spoken to Jerome for a while now. “Kevin cut ties with Jerome months ago, but this has remained silent until now,” a source told Bild. “Jerome was always seen as the good and sweet brother, whilst Kevin was seen as a bad boy. However, it is the opposite.” Source: https://www.completesports.com/i-have-nothing-to-do-with-jerome-anymore-kevin-prince-boateng-slams-brother-after-assaulting-ex-girlfriend/

Paul Pogba is reportedly leaning towards signing a new deal at Manchester United. The World Cup-winning Frenchman has entered the final year of his existing contract with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and continues to be heavily linked with a free transfer to Real Madrid next summer. Los Blancos were supposedly confident of securing Pogba’s signature in 2022, but the latest developments in the midfielder’s contract saga could deal the La Liga outfit a major blow in their pursuit. According to The Athletic, Pogba is now leaning towards staying at Old Trafford, with the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and Saturday’s 4-1 win over Newcastle United being potentially pivotal factors in the decision. The report adds that talks over an Old Trafford extension will resume ‘in due course’, but United are still making contingency plans should Pogba ultimately end his Red Devils stint. Pogba claimed his sixth and seventh assists of the Premier League season in Saturday’s win over Newcastle, which takes his overall tally to 38 goals and 49 assists in 210 games for United across all tournaments. Brazilian football icon Edson Arantes do Nascimento popularly known as Pele, has celebrated the successful surgery which he underwent to remove a tumor. The three-time World Cup winner said he had the surgery last Saturday, days after he was hospitalized in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Commenting on the successful surgery, Pele wrote on his Instagram page:”My friends, thank you very much for the kind messages. I thank God for feeling very well and for allowing Dr. Fábio and Dr. Miguel to take care of my health. Last Saturday I underwent surgery to remove a suspicious lesion in the right colon. “The tumor was identified during the tests I mentioned last week. “Fortunately, I’m used to celebrating great victories alongside you. I will face this match with a smile on my face, a lot of optimism and joy for living surrounded by the love of my family and friends.” The 80-year-old has had several significant health issues in recent years. He had a failed hip replacement surgery in 2012, and has been hospitalized multiple times due to kidney and prostate issues. Former Real Madrid director general, Jorge Valdano has disclosed that Lionel Messi’s departure to PSG hurts the Los Blancos. Messi left Barcelona this summer to join the Paris club in a two-year deal. Valdano in an interview with El Pais said that La Liga will never remain the same without Messi. “There’s the feeling that Barcelona just didn’t have the money to pay Messi. An illusion was created, and because everything happened so fast it seemed like he’d been kicked out. In a game where identity is so important, getting rid of a legend like him isn’t just painful, it’s inexplicable. Him leaving also damages Real Madrid a lot, because teams are also measured in terms of their rivals. Simply put, Messi will go down as a footballing genius, but he won’t just have belonged to Barcelona, which is quite sad.” Valdano then commented on Los Blancos’ summer bid to sign Kylian Mbappe. “He’s got a season left [on his PSG contract]. He’ll be a free agent and it’ll be down to him, not the club,” he said. “We have to assume that if Madrid contact him that he’ll at least respond.” Source: https://www.completesports.com/messis-departure-to-psg-hurts-real-madrid-valdano/

The ex-wife of Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez has revealed how the Algerian skipper turned his back on her and their family after signing for the Premier League champions. Today singer Rita Johal says Mahrez, who earns £160,000 a week, transformed from a down-to-earth dad who shopped in Asda into a “big head” after his move from Leicester City. And Johal thinks Tottenham striker Harry Kane’s wife Kate should breathe a sigh of relief now that his £160million transfer to Man City has collapsed. The 28-year-old mother of two exclusively told The Sun on Sunday: “I can’t comment on other people’s lives but moving there changed my husband. “Harry Kane’s wife probably had a lucky escape. Others should be careful. “Riyad let fame go to his head. He changed when he went to Manchester City. “But a footballer’s career is short-lived. “They should remain grounded and loyal to those they care for, even when they have moved up to a bigger club, because when it’s all over they will realise who’s truly there.” Rita told how she changed her faith for Muslim Riyad, stopped drinking alcohol and accepted a quiet life with the star when she first met him seven years ago. But when he moved north for £60million in 2018, she says Riyad, 30, turned cold towards her. Now he has moved on and is engaged to influencer Taylor Ward. She said: “The Riyad I met is a different person to the one he is now. He parties, he acts like a flash footballer. “I don’t hate him, that’s a strong word, but I am shocked and saddened by what he has done. “He suddenly left me, blaming the pressures of playing at Manchester City. “Now he spends all his time jetting around the place on holiday without a care in the world.” Johal explained how she met and fell in love with Mahrez. “It was 2014 and I didn’t have a clue who he was. He wasn’t a big name then. “But he was charming and I liked him. He was lovely to me, constantly telling me I was beautiful, asking about my life, making me feel special. “He said he loved me and wanted me to have his children.” The pair became inseparable and just four months later they married in a secret ceremony. Johal said: “We had a small wedding at home. “I loved him, I wanted to do that. I changed the way I was for him. I changed my faith. “I stopped drinking, as he didn’t drink. I loved his values. And I wanted a solid family life. “I wanted us to be strong together like my own parents and he felt the same way. “Our wedding was low key at home with two priests and our close family. “We were madly in love and we wanted to be together for ever. “At first we were just a normal family. “Riyad wasn’t flash. Yes, he was a footballer, but we were just your regular couple with our two little girls. “He went and played football, I was a stay-at-home mum. We would watch films together.” But in July 2018, Manchester City confirmed his signing on a five-year contract. The transfer fee of £60million made him the club’s then most expensive player. Johal says that is when their lives changed completely. Rita, now living in Beaconsfield, Bucks, said: “The loving, humble and caring Riyad disappeared. He started to believe his own hype. He had yes men who told him what he wanted to hear. I started to see the change in him. “He stopped asking me how my day went and what I was going to do. “I think I became the boring wife at home and he had this glitzy lifestyle away from me. “He started to just ignore me. “Obviously I asked what was going on and he would say, ‘I am pressured, it is the football, I am stressed’.” Source: https://www.completesports.com/johal-how-manchester-city-ruined-my-marriage-mahrezs-ex-wife-reveals/

Arsenal are reportedly considering former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte as Mikel Arteta’s successor. The Spaniard has overseen a torrid start to the 2020-21 season with the Gunners, suffering back-to-back 2-0 defeats to Brentford and Chelsea in their first two top-flight matches. Arsenal have been hit hard by injuries and a coronavirus outbreak in August, though, and a recent report claimed that the Gunners board were prepared to keep the faith in Arteta. However, The Telegraph claims that Arteta now has only five games to save his job in the Emirates dugout, and Conte is a potential candidate to take over in North London. The Italian left Inter after leading them to the Serie A crown last term, and he was one of many names linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job following his exit from San Siro. Conte won 51 of his 76 Premier League games in charge of Chelsea and oversaw their 2016-17 title win before he was relieved of his duties in 2018. Struggling Arsenal have been ruthlessly mocked on social media by Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow as they become a laughing stock around Europe. The Gunners are winless and goalless after their opening two games of the Premier League season, having been defeated by Brentford and Chelsea in successive weeks. That poor start to the new campaign has come despite Arsenal being the highest spenders in the summer transfer window in the top-flight so far. Under-fire boss Mikel Arteta has brought in five new players already, having signed Aaron Ramsdale, Martin Odegaard, Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares. The pressure has ramped up on Arteta following the opening two matches, with Chelsea running out comfortable winners at the Emirates Stadium. First-half goals from Romelu Lukaku and Reece James ultimately doomed the Gunners to defeat, with Arteta’s side now second bottom in the Premier League. And following Chelsea’s win Spartak took the opportunity to ruthlessly mock Arteta’s struggling side. “Why couldn’t we play this Arsenal yesterday?” Spartak’s official English account posted on Twitter on Sunday, coupled with the sad face emoji. Life is set to get even harder for Arsenal and Arteta, with a visit to reigning champions Manchester City their next outing in the league in six days’ time. Former Nigerian forward, Jonathan Akpoborie believes Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has the array of players to lead the team to glory land in Cameroon. Nigeria, three-time champions of the AFCON, are joined in Group D by Egypt, Sudan, and Guinea-Bissau. The team will open their tournament campaign against seven-time champions, the Pharaohs of Egypt, on January 11, before taking on 1970 champions Sudan’s Falcons of Jediane on January 15. They will thereafter round off their group stage games against Guinea-Bissau’s Djurtus on January 19. Speaking with Completesports.com, the former Wolfsburg striker stated that the Super Eagles will qualify from the group stages regardless of who they face. He noted that the real task comes during the knockout stages where Nigeria are likely to face some of the big teams in Africa football. Akpoborie, however, urged the German tactician to sharpen his ability to read games quickly in a bid to avoid a repeat of what happened in 2019 AFCON. “I must confess that the Super Eagles won’t find it difficult to qualify from Group D that consists of Egypt, Sudan, and Guinea-Bissau because we have the players to get the job done. “It will be wrong for the coach and players to think only Egypt will pose a big threat to Nigeria without paying attention to Sudan and Guinea-Bissau. “But then, my major concern has to do with Rohr’s ability to read games when the team face stronger teams in the knockout stages of the competition. At this stage, any single error may result to total elimination from the showpiece. “With the caliber of players in Rohr’s disposal, I see no reason why Nigeria can’t win the 2021 AFCON title.” Source: https://www.completesports.com/exclusive-2021-afcon-rohr-can-lead-super-eagles-to-glory-if-akpoborie/

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has offered the Juventus forward to Manchester City this summer for just £25m. Ronaldo has just 10 months left to run on his £25.5million-a-year contract at Juventus and his future in Turin is far from certain, having been linked with moves to PSG, Real Madrid and former club Manchester United in the past. Premier League champions City, meanwhile, are looking for a new star striker, with Tottenham and England’s Harry Kane their top target. Sportsmail revealed this week that Pep Guardiola’s side are expected to make an improved offer on the £100m bid that was rejected earlier this summer, but Spurs are playing hardball over their £150m price tag. But according to Corriere dello Sport, Ronaldo’s representative Mendes has offered City an alternative option by declaring that the 36-year-old could turn out in the blue half of Manchester this season. The report says Juventus would be willing to sell Ronaldo for just £25m this summer given he has just one year left on his contract, with the Serie A giants also keen on cutting the Portuguese striker’s hefty wages loose. A potential Ronaldo move to City would be a hugely controversial transfer given the 36-year-old spent six successful seasons at the Premier League club’s arch-rivals, Manchester United, scoring 118 goals in 292 games between 2003 and 2009. Ronaldo has always held a strong bond with the United fans, so a move to the Etihad Stadium would be seen as a betrayal. According to Spanish news programme El Chiringuito, Real Madrid are also looking at bringing Ronaldo back to the Santiago Bernabeu – with Carlo Ancelotti calling for the man who scored 450 goals in nine seasons for Los Blancos to come back to Spain. The 36-year-old is preparing for the new Serie A season with Juventus after six-time Serie A champion Massimiliano Allegri returned to the club after two years away. Tammy Abraham has joined Roma from Chelsea for a club record fee of £34m and has signed a five-year contract with the Serie A club. The 23-year-old will wear the number nine shirt at Roma and becomes the club’s fourth signing of the summer. “You can sense when a club really wants you – and Roma made their interest clear immediately,” Abraham said. “Roma is a club that deserves to be fighting for titles and trophies. I’ve had the experience of winning major trophies and I want to be in those competitions again – so I want to help this team to achieve that and get to the level where Roma should be. “It’s a massive honour to be the No. 9 at this club and I just can’t wait to get started and to help the team.” Abraham will have the task of replacing Edin Dzeko’s goal output after the former Manchester City forward departed Rome for Inter Milan on Saturday. Roma’s General Manager Tiago Pinto said: “Despite still being very young, with a huge amount of potential to keep improving, Tammy has already played more than 200 games in his career and scored over 100 goals – and won a number of major trophies too. “Choosing to leave the Premier League, and the club he grew up at, demonstrates very clearly just how much he believes in this opportunity to develop his own game and show what he can do at Roma. “Bringing in players that have such a hunger and desire to play for our club is hugely important in helping to build the identity and sense of belonging that is a fundamental part of our overall vision for this team.” Roma have also signed Rui Patricio, Eldor Shomurodov and Matias Vina this transfer window. Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward Harry Kane is reportedly still determined to join Manchester City before this summer’s transfer window closes for business. The 28-year-old was not involved in Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Man City on Sunday afternoon, with Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo claiming that the England captain was not fit enough to be named in the squad. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is allegedly preparing to reject any offers that might arrive from Pep Guardiola’s side, who are keen to sign the forward before the deadline. Read Also: Premier League: Son Scores As Tottenham Edge Out Manchester City However, according to The Telegraph, Kane is still desperate to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and is hopeful that the Premier League champions will press ahead with a move next week. Arsenal are supposedly considering replacing Mikel Arteta with former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte. Arteta steered Arsenal to a record-extending 14th FA Cup triumph during his first half-season in charge, but the Spaniard could only lead the Gunners to an eighth-placed finish in last season’s Premier League. Arsenal’s 2021-22 season also kicked off in dismal fashion with a 2-0 defeat to newly-promoted Brentford, and Arteta’s future in the dugout is thought to be far from secure. According to Tuttosport, Arsenal will consider a swoop for Conte should Arteta be relieved of his duties, and the Italian would be keen to bring Lautaro Martinez to the Emirates with him. Conte oversaw Chelsea’s 2016-17 Premier League title win and led Inter to the Scudetto last term, with Martinez scoring 17 goals on the way, and he was one of many names linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job. Arteta – who apologised to Arsenal fans following Friday’s defeat at Brentford – has won 47 of his 87 games in charge of the Gunners, losing 24 and drawing the other 16. Chelsea have re-signed Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for £97.5m. The Champions League holders confirmed Lukaku’s return on their official website on Thursday. The 28-year-old returns to Stamford Bridge on a five-year deal, having left the Blues to join Everton for in 2014. The fee is just short of the British transfer record of £100m paid by Manchester City for Jack Grealish. “I came here as a kid who had a lot to learn, now I’m coming back with a lot of experience and more mature,” Lukaku said. “I have supported Chelsea as a kid and now to be back and try to help them win more titles is an amazing feeling.” More money has now been spent on Lukaku than any other player in history with clubs paying out a combined figure of about £290m in transfer fees for him. Two of the top five fees paid for a player in British football history have now been for Lukaku. Belgium’s all-time top goalscorer is also the most expensive player ever sold by a Serie A club, having become the third most expensive buy in Italian history when he joined Inter in the summer of 2019 from Manchester United for £74m. Raphael Varane could reportedly be announced as a Manchester United player on Wednesday following his move from Real Madrid. The World Cup-winning Frenchman is set to complete a move to the Red Devils after the club agreed a £34m deal with Los Blancos, but quarantine and visa issues have thus far prevented him from linking up with the squad. However, according to journalist Jonathan Shrager, Varane may be able to complete his medical and be unveiled by Man United on Wednesday, putting him in with an outside chance of featuring in their Premier League opener with Leeds United. Shrager tweeted: “There is confidence that Varane’s medical, signing and announcement can be officially completed on Wednesday, which would then allow him to train with the team on Thursday/Friday, opening up the possibility that he could feature in #MUFC’s matchday squad in season opener vs Leeds.” Varane left Real Madrid after winning four Champions League crowns and three La Liga titles in a 10-year spell, as well as claiming 17 goals from 360 appearances. The Red Devils have also bolstered their attacking line with the £73m signing of Jadon Sancho, who was pictured in training with United for the first time yesterday. Belgian star striker Romelu Lukaku is set to become the most expensive player in history in accumulated transfer fees as he nears his Chelsea return. Lukaku is close to re-joining Chelsea – ten years after first doing so – with Inter Milan accepting a £97.5million bid. It means he will have cost the most in joint transfers ever, surpassing Neymar’s prior record of £246.6m. The PSG forward moved from Santos, to Barcelona and then PSG in a world-record £198m deal in 2017. But with Lukaku now heading back to Stamford Bridge, it will see his total transfer fees rocket to £293.5m. The forward started his career with Anderlecht in his homeland before signing for Chelsea for £10m in 2011. But after three years, and just 15 games with no goals, Lukaku was sold to Everton for £28m in 2014. There, he cemented himself as a prolific scorer, with 87 goals in 166 games before securing himself a mega move to Manchester United in 2017. Lukaku snubbed interest from Chelsea to move to Old Trafford, where he enjoyed mixed success as their No9. He scored 42 goals in 96 matches but failed to fit in United’s style as he was again moved on. Inter signed the Belgian for £74m in 2019 in a move which rejuvenated Lukaku. He scored 34 goals in his first season as Inter narrowly missed out on the Serie A by just a point. But last season Lukaku helped the Italian giants end their 11 year wait for a league title as he hit 24 goals in 36 matches. It has convinced Chelsea to go back in for their old striker, as they looked to bolster their threat in front of goal. And having seen their £97.5m offer accepted it is the latest in a long line of lucrative moves for the star forward. Lionel Messi’s dramatic Barcelona exit appears to have plenty of twists to come yet, with the Catalans alleging Paris Saint-Germain cannot sign the Argentine icon due to their own financial woes. Lawyers at the Spanish club have filed a complain to the European Court of Appeals, stating the Parisians should be stopped in their pursuit of Messi based on financial data. Messi confirmed in a teary press conference that he will be leaving Barcelona this summer after a lifetime at the club, and is now finalising terms with PSG. However, Barca appear to be willing to do all they can to avoid seeing their greatest player move to a European rival and are keen to disrupt PSG’s pursuit. Juan Branco confirmed the complaint on Twitter on Sunday night by tweeting a statement that read: ‘On behalf of FC Barcelona partners, my firm has prepared a complaint with the European Commission and demands for provisional suspension before civil and administrative courts in France to prevent Paris-Saint Germain from signing Lionel Messi. ‘PSG’s ratios in terms of “Financial Fair Play” are worse than those of FC Barcelona. ‘In 2019-2020, PSG’s salary-to-income ratio was 99%, while Barcelona’s was 54%. Meanwhile, the difference has increased. ‘It is inconceivable that the “Financial Fair Play” serves to aggravate the drifts of football-business, the instrumentalization of football by sovereign powers, and the distortion of competitions.’ The report claims PSG will fall foul of FFP with the signing of Messi, and reveals that Barcelona couldn’t renew the star’s contract because even after a 50 per cent pay cut, the club’s wage bill would be 110 per cent of cap, according to Marca. It also reportedly pointed at the Ligue 1 side’s active summer this year, with Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Georginio Wijnaldum all arriving at the Parc de Princes. They already have the massive wages of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar to shoulder. Earlier on Sunday, Messi gave an emotional press conference in which he said a tearful goodbye to Barcelona. The 34-year-old Argentina international received a standing ovation from family and friends, current and former team-mates and journalists during a farewell press conference at the Nou Camp Source: https://www.completesports.com/barcelona-lawyers-move-to-block-messis-transfer-to-psg/
