Romance › Wearing Engagement Ring Before Marriage: How Long? by solid3(op): 6:03pm On Jan 15, 2013
I came across a guy advising a lady to remove and throw away an engagement ring she's been wearing for 2 years without walking down the isle.

Now, I've got few questions:

Whats the normal time range a lady is expected to wear an engagement ring, as in, a guy proposes and d lady accept and he presented a ring to signify seriousness.

Secondly how long is too long to wear an engagement ring?

miiraaj: With such a serious allegation against the IG,all he could say is that the matter is in court and he would respond at the appropriate time. We don't need any court to tell us the IG and DIG are guilty hence, they should be executed immediately, unless if there is a greater power behind the police.

akintayo1: Technology is advancing every seconds of the day,no one wants to get his hands dirty on codes any more.every one looking for short cut.If i can get copy and paste method to design a website like facebook or nairaland and kick it off fast to start making me money, why would i be fighting it out in trying to code every bit of it from scratch? Great thanks to the CMS (wordpress, joomla, blogger e.t.c)communities all over, clients would have empty their bank account just to get a 2 page websites or blog if only web developer or designer as you called like "U" still prefer the traditional ways.
Well, lets see how you will advance from a copy and paste u ar doing to become a webdeveloper.

It is glearing. Let IG come out and tell us another lie.

aletheia: olawalebabs: In an effort to determine the top security
agency in Nigeria, the eminent judges narrowed the field to
three finalists: the SSS, the Army and the Nigeria Police
Force. The three contenders were given the
task of catching a rabbit which was released into the forest
assigned to each of them. The SSS went into
the forest and placed animal informants everywhere! They
questioned every plant and animal witness
and after three months of extensive investigation, they
concluded that rabbits do not exist! The Army
went into the forest. After two weeks without a capture,
they burnt the forest down killing everything in
it, including the rabbit! They made no apologies. "The rabbit
deserved it - why was it hiding?" they
thought to themselves. The Nigeria Police went into the
forest. They came out two hours later with a
badly beaten hyena! The hyena kept yelling, "Okay, Okay, I
agree, I'm a rabbit, I'm a rabbit!!”
Nigerian police will not kill us wit funny suspects o.

wesley80: You only heard one side of the story, I'm sure the police would have theirs.
Can we expect anything good from the police other than what we've heard already?

Besides, the NPF was invited to the show but the police spokes person blatantly refused to answer his calls or reply sms sent him. And right there on the live telecast, Gbenga still called on the spokes person of the NPF to show up.

What was the conclusion of the session?
The conclusion is that IG should resign and a call on mr president to wise up and show that you can not lie to him and go scoot free. lets see if mr president is strong or weak.

seunfly: With what rev david ugolor revealed on AIT this morning about police and presidency, huuum! I hope we still hope in Nigeria because of the way it was handled and lies being covered up.
I repeat, the IG of police is in a deep mess and his job is at stake.

Just keep watching what will happen in days to come.

At a point Gbenga Aruleba was distressed with his body "langwagi" (tapping his hand on his chair handle) based on shocking revelations.

I hope the kidnappers would use their sense in this case not like that of minister of finance mother's case, because they have set out on a journey of no return.
They either make the money or get caught.

When they get the ransom, they should know how to handle that success.

wesley80: Remember to tell us when you finish hearing it.
Well from the little I have heard, the police including the IG have shot themselves on the foot. From their report, the persons whom they claimed murdered Olaitan Oyerinde were in police custody since April and the suspects were threatened, tortured and even shot to point Rev David Ugolo as the master mind behind the massacre.

So in a cover up of the whole case by the NPF from the report they sent to the magistrate court (a court that is not capable of hearing such matter), it was reveled that both the suspects and weapon used in the act were actually in police custody. Meanwhile IG of police flew to Edo state and claimed that they have caught the those who killed Olaitan Oyerinde and even promoted the deputy IG who handled the case, not knowing the job was shabbily done. Now the IG has turned to a gentle man who has no commanding voice again.

From Adams Oshiomole's outburst, all the police IG could say is that the matter is in court and that they will respond soon.

In a nut shell the IG blatantly lied to the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Jonathan who ordered him to investigate the matter and commander in chief of the armed forces of Nigeria is quiet.
secondly, the IG also lied to 160million people of Nigeria.
Thirdly, the NPF and IG have hand in the gruesome murder of Olaitan Oyerinde.

Hi people.

There have been many times where I have tried to click on dislike button, but then I remember there is nothing as such on Nairaland.

Some times, what people post is just way too disgusting or not just ok and am sure many nairalander just like me would like to have a dislike button that can be clicked on.

Apart from that purpose, it would serve as a quick pull for a particular topic or comment.

I hope am not alone.

If you want a "dislike" button click "like", if u dont want a "dislike" button, click grin

@munky medina

I dont want to reveal any details abt me, or what project am focusin on this first quarter.

Keep using CMS that u dont know how it was built and keep charging 10k for all ur works. Time will tell. U dont need to trouble urself to learn any programin langwaGi owkay, just focus on CMS. Am sure wit people like u in govt, Nigeria wld hav to depend on google for Nigerian map instead of the troubles of her own sat.

Think again. grin

^^ am begining to get unconfortable with ur comments.

I think it would do u so well if you can get a bill board all over Nigeria to let Nigerians know they dont need any webmaster for any website design because CMS has come to stay and that they can just simply host their site with host gator or go daddy.
Webmasters › Re: A Ban On 10-49K Website Design by solid3(op): 10:58pm On Jan 03, 2013
I can see so many dissenting opinion about the subject matter. A whole lot of ish has also been raised.

I can also see the competition goin on btw d OP and Funky medina with the "like" button, lets see how it ends.

Nevertheless, contrary opinion wld not deter us from focusing on the right thing.

If we continue to use wordpress and joomla templates, when will we learn to also devlop our original templates from scratch? Just like a person who only knows how to decorate a house without knowing jack about how d house was built. Or a cheef who only knows how to microwave and garnish ready made food and yet calls himself a professional.

Lets learn to support local productions, lets stop depending on the Americans and Indians for all our needs while they keep advancing.

Also, if we continue to charge cheap amount, when will we be able to go corporate and perharps become big ICT company? When will you b able to pay for office acommodation of N450k/yr in Abuja? When will u b able to show up for a business meeting with ur iPad/Galaxy Tab in ur designer suit and a clean car rather than the usual sweating in jeans, T-shirt & perm slippers?

C'mon, wise up, even if u ar a Cut&Paste Master, must u remain at that level?

Brb.

funky medina: Abegi,..stop whinning, instead of trying to form union why not adapt. Abroad there are various prices for various types of site! If your good at what you do your work will stand out but Wordpress and joomla are here to stay and there is nothing you can do about it. some sites you suffer hand coding are no different from some templates i see and atimes the templates are even better. You are like IBM of old rigid in your old school ways .. With CMS prices have dropped and will continue to drop once people figure out they can do it themselves. Change ur proffession or offer some mainatance or watever for free as part of ur package.
If everyone thought like you, computers will still fill up three rooms running on 4MB memory! tongue
Well said, so how much wld you charge a client for,
1. Yearly hosting and domain name?
2. How much wld you charge for design (in ur own case copy and paste) of each page?
3. How much wld you charge if you have to develop content for each page?
4. How much wld you charge if u need extra widgets and plugins?
5. How much wld you charge if they have no logo?
6. How much wld you spend on internet connectivity?
7. How much wld you charge for logistics?

Besides, a person who can not do more than wordpress and joomla is only an administrator and not a website designer or web developer. Cos in the real sense, you have not designed anything, only cut and paste.
