adeco2: Please, how did you handle the 'particular of asset' option on the guarantor's form?
Did you actually fill; cash available, names and address of bankers listed on the form?
Is it possible to ignore this part as my guarantor don't want to disclose Read up, the question has been answered |

Thanks alot for the elaborate explanation sir. I tried sending a mail, I don't know if it delivered. Possible I contact you in whatsapp? Lekiboboe: U can apply for both.... Either for M.SC , PH.D or PGD, one or two of them could just click or even all And it all boils down to what u want, either a Career in Science or a Career in Education
U should only do an evaluation for either of the two if the sch. ask for it, if not ,use it like that...
If u can get a related free/paid online course that relates to ur Biotechnology & Plant Genetics degree, do it, it would one way or the other re-ignite ur science background.
As regards u not being lucky as regards getting a response from a Supervisor , u might need to try something new...., how can ur B.SC and M.Sc align to the research interest of the supervisor.......... Send me a PM..... |

Thanks so much. The post you responded is similar to mine, but I have additional questions please. I have a bsc in biotechnology, and MSc in plant genetics, but I have been teaching in the past 5 years post nysc. I don't know if I should still further in sciences or or acquire a PGD in education? Again, if I'm considering doing another msc before progressing to PhD, do I need to evaluate my msc or only bsc or both? I have made attempts to contact potential supervisors for PhD but haven't been lucky, hence, my decision to start another msc . Kindly advise on what I should do. Thank you. Lekiboboe: Thanks...
Well..well...
Dnt jump into that conclusion yet, No degree is worthless in Canada, u might need to make ur research More, most especially on Linkdein, Quora etc.
Check the link below about being a GEOLOGIST in CANADA http://www.emigratecanada.com/immigrate-to-canada-as-a-geologist/
For Master's I can't say, most especially in a field not related to ur Undergraduate, Cos ur Transcript will come handy in ur selection for a Masters and u don't have a Background in HR apart from the work experience u have which might not be enough.
But Since u seems certain of admission with ur CGPA at MUN, if its a thesis related masters, u would need to send a convincing mail to a Supervisor to know if /he she is accepting student and u gonna let him/her know why he/should accept u (this is where u would talk about ur Geology degree and what prompted u to opt for an M.SC in HR which u have 2-years Work History in )
Page 112 will guide u on that, and u can also reach out to respective MUN alumni's or Present MUN students in the forum
Assuming it was a Geology Related M.SC u were going for, u would likely stand a good chance
My own Suggestion this, Since are interested in HR and u want to make that switch, why not apply for a PGD or PGC in HR @ any of the colleges in Canada, ur work experience will come handy on this.
As part of ur Application , apart from the conventional required documents for the PGD or PGC admission, Try get supporting Documents like a Recommendation letter from ur boss, Employment letter, free online course certificate on HR etc. something that make the sch. know that u are fit for an HR program despite having a GEOLOGY degree
Find attached the schools (colleges) offering PGD/PGC in HR |

It absolutely helps! Thanks alot. I meant university of Saskatchewan and my programme does require a supervisor as it involves genetic improvement of a named legume. I came across her publications online that she worked on same test sample, so I figured my research topic might interest her. I visited the university website where I got her email address. What is the nature of the interview, Skype or what? Just want to know so I prep myself. I attached my CV but not my research proposal with the mail I sent to her. Was it okay or I should have attached my proposal? Mudicua: When you say Saskatchewan do you mean the province or the university? There is Uni of Regina and Uni of Saskatchewan. And both schools take Nigerians. What course do you intend to study? Does it require you getting a supervisor? Also how did you send the email? Do your research interest align with the potential supervisor?
These are some things you need to put in mind while sending an email to a supervisor.
Now that yu got an auto email.. the professor may be on leave. Do not forget it is summer and they can still take time off. However you can read up about the other potential professors suggested and contact them if you cannot wait. The thing is even if you send an email to them, they will most likely want to schedule an interview with you to get a feel of who you are... and if you are a match.
With regards to funding, it is the prerogative of the department to determine if you get funding. But yes, international students get funding.
I hope this helps.
Shalom! |

Osemigho: Only few persons get thesis admission by emailing one prof or applying to one school. I would advise you continue to look for other profs in other schools with similar interest as yours. Thanks alot for this. It is very well noted. Is it advisable to attach your proposal with the mail? |

Blema111: Yea they do. I personally know someone doing his PhD and another, his masters. They got the admission with full funding. It’s not bad to contact other potential supervisors but is their research interest in tandem with yours or somewhat similar? Thank you for your response. Yes, my research interest is in line with that of the prof I emailed. |

Ujules: If you have your IELTS or TOEFL result, you can upload it. If not, just submit. All submissions are still redirected from universitaly to your school.
If your school needs it, they may still ask you to provide it. I think it depends if its part of your schools requirement. Can schools accept IELTS general test in place if IELTS academic? |

TOPAI7: Thanks. I appreciate your response. I will try to get the Local government identification, though getting this might be a difficult task. It doesn't really have to be. If you know anyone in your local government, he/she can guide you well. They might need some passports photographs there. |

Good morning all. Please how well does Saskatchewan take Nigerians for PhD? I've written to a professor requesting to be my supervisor, but got an automatic response that she's away until next week. I was referred by the mail to other potential supervisors to contact. Should I go ahead and contact them or wait till next week and see if I can get a response? Also, are there fundings for international students in Saskatchewan schools? |

For your local government identification, just go to your local government headquarters and request for it. The 3 printouts are payment acknowledgment slip, guarantor's form and and application form. Don't forget to notarize the guarantor's form in court. There's usually where to do this in immigration offices. TOPAI7: Thanks for your swift response. How can one get local government identification letter?
What are the 3 printouts from the internet? |

You could go to servicom office and ask why, reach out to them on twitter and ask why Goddys: After making payment, I received SMS below:

The NIN I provided was correct. Please did any of you experienced this issue after payment? |

1. Photocopy of local government identification letter (also go with the original) 2. Photocopy of Birth certificate or age declaration in court (also go with original). 3. Photocopy of NIN slip 4. 2 passport 5. One passport of guarantor 6. Photocopy of guarantor's NIN slip or card or driver's license 7. Photocopy of guarantor's international passport 8. All the 3 printouts from the internet. That's all TOPAI7: Letter of identification from Local Government/State of origin or residence or National Identity Card OR Letter of introduction for employees of government as a Nigerian citizen stating Service Number, Length of Service and Designation/Rank. The letter must be accompanied with a valid staff identity card;
Please kindly help me to explain what thus means on immigration website? Can the National identity be used for the above?

Thank you all for your supports here. I was able to do my capturing today. I did it all by myself and with the support I got here. So, I applied online and made payment via netpost pay (26k) on the 10th. Interview was scheduled for today. I got to Ikoyi office at 8:25am. I was asked to go and file my documents at the business centre (be careful, those guys are rogues. They charged me 2k for just a file and 3 photocopied documents they gave me. I insisted I wasn't going to pay, but they later collected 1k). As I entered the gate, I went straight to the court to notarize my guarantor's form (N500). Then, I went to servicom (its by the right of the entrance gate) and got my documents filed again.
After filing my documents, I was told to waite for sms this week before I come for capturing. I pleaded with the man and appealed to do it today with the excuse that I came from a far place. That was how he took my file inside and the whole process started again. Same man directed me to the next office to go, from there to another desk till it entered capturing office. There were just 3 persons before me. In all, I spent about 2hrs to get everything done. I await the sms for collection.
Thank you all once again! |

You are simply the best. Thank you! opeyemi2012: Dont leave it blank. If you do, you will still be asked to fill it. I went with mine blank and the officer who attended to me politely guided me on what needs to be filled.
I simply walked out, filled in the asset part myself (Cash = N162k, other assets = 1 car and shares certificates) and walked back in.
The only part you can leave blank is the third part on the first page. Cheers! |

On the guarantor's form, is it must he/she fills the asset part? Is it okay to leave it blank? opeyemi2012: Sorry but which one is Lagos, Ogun and its environs? Decide on a passport office you want to use and start your application online. Just take note of previous comments on the last few pages cos some passport offices could be very corrupt. Based on my experience at the national headquarters, everyone was professional.
Standard e-passport (32pages and 5 years validity) is 25k. If you are paying cash at bank, there is an extra charge of 500 but if you are paying via debit card, there is an extra charge of 1k. After paying, print your Acknowledgement of receipt, updated biodata form, and your guarantor's form. You will need a photocopy of your guarantor's passport biodata page and NIN card/slip or driver's license (NIN card/slip preferably).
You will also attach photocopies of your NIN card/slip and birth certificate or declaration of age. Have your guarantor fill the 2 pages of the guarantor's form and write his/her full name (also sign) at the back of one of his/her photograph. Proceed to court and have your guarantor's form stamped.
Submit all these and if you are lucky, you can be captured same day especially if there are no much people waiting to be captured.
As soon as you are captured and you confirm all your details correctly, you will be given a collection slip stating the date of collection - usually doesnt exceed 2 weeks.
After collecting your passport, go to the activation desk and activate it. Cheers! |

Thank you for this... Please do you know the universities in US that offer same for biological sciences graduate studies? 5000 approved universities is alot to search from. Kindly streamline it for me please. vibrant99: The below universities are all above 600th in the world university ranking except Georgia state university.... around 500th!
Funny enough some are still very poor in the US University ranking like Minnesota.... 800th!
what does this mean? this are very poor institutions like MAPOLY, if Nigeria is used as a context.
How does an institution fund a student? STRICTLY on MERIT!!!!
A school like the schools you have don't have sought after departments, or Lecturers or any world class thing to it, its standards is very poor and they rely greatly on school fees to run.
Schools may get government funding anywhere around the world but that school must be very competitive and bring in very very good students in order to receive such funding.
It is easier for a state School to charge 20k (dollars) than a private university that is ranked around 200th to charge 10k(dollars), because they don't get anything exceptional being at that level, lecturers are basic people and not some world record PHD holder from Japan, if at all the lecturer wants to be at YALE, or QATAR, OR SOUTH AFRICA with a school around 200th-300th position!
Where is a school at that position getting such money to spew? how much will they award some one with a 1st class? 1m dollars?
How many citations do they have?
How many research are they publicizing or advertising?
One university in Luxembourg will easily pass before any university at that level in the united states .... How many international students and professors is in such a school?
I stand solidly on my argument, A strong 2.1 will not even get you a FUNDING in this schools unless you can write exceedingly well, convincing them to grant you a FUNDING, The truth is , You have to be very good and also have a good reason why you cannot afford to pay fee, then you are considered , in this kind of schools ooo! |

Hi, good afternoon. Please, what material did you use to ace your IELTS like this? Kindly share. Thank you sinorte: I'll try and be brief. I need your guidance please.
I and my wife sat for the IELTS in January 2020 (solely for the purpose of immigration to Canada) and I had the following result: L8.5 R8.5 W8.0 S7.0.
My plan was to do my credentials evaluation with WES, but NASU in University of Ibadan was on strike in February so I couldn't process my transcript. While I was hoping that NASU would call off its strike soonest, the national body of ASUU went on strike too, and shortly after that, COVID-19 brought the whole world to a standstill, momentarily.
Without me being able to process my transcript and put it out for evaluation (due to the raging pandemic and the ongoing strike action at the University of Ibadan), I will like to be enlightened on what steps I can still take regarding my intended immigration to Canada. Are there any other usefulness for my test score?
Thank you for your anticipated guidance |
