Business / Re: Business To Start With 2 Million by Solomon6383: 11:05am On Nov 08, 2021
Which type of Bussines is that sir? I'm interested

Ymodulus:

I can teach you. I can give you a business plan, well laid out with expenses, thinking strategies everything blue print. And you will make #80k per week. With your 2Milla.

The only problem you might have is that you need to get a physical address and it has to be in the North

I will give you every into to on it. But you will give me something in return. When you set up, I will need your credence and license or support to get a FORM A or FORM M from the Government.

My pin on my profile.
Investment / Re: What Can Someone Invest 2 Million Naira In by Solomon6383: 10:54am On Nov 08, 2021
Which type of Real Estate Bussines and Agricultural product will you use 1.5Million to invest on?

Seyola9:

Lolz sir..don't be deceived..no nigerian bank will give you 10% monthly consistently..banks are suckers not to talk of nigerian banks..

If I had 2 million with me now, I will use 500k naira only to do CRYPTOCURRENCY (BITCOIN AND ALTCOIN) TRADING. My weekly / monthly profits is 90% sure.

Then I will invest the remaining 1.5 milla in REAL ESTATE, AGRICULTURAL RELATED PRODUCTS and any other offline valuable investments...

DIVERSIFICATION IS THE KEY..

DON'T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET...

Business / Is Retail Cooking Gas Bussines still profitable? by Solomon6383: 8:33am On Nov 08, 2021
I salute you all my Nairalanders.
Please, I presently reside in South South but am planning to go into retail Gas Bussines in Lagos, I heard there's this Gas filling Machine which is able to track all your sales record which will make it easier that even if you employed someone at the shop there will be no cheating because i'm a Student schooling in South South and wish to establish the Bussines in Lagos and I will not be able to be overseeing it but with the help of the Gas filling Machine I'll be able to be tracking the sales progress. Also, it will makes it easier for the person in charge as there will be no excuse like Oga sorry, I mis sale some Gasses(overfilling) as the machine is Automatic just press the volume of Gas you wanted to sell and when it's done the Machine will stop automatically.
Now, my question is "IS RETAIL GAS BUSSINES LIKE THIS STILL PROFITABLE OR I SHOULD CONSIDER SOMETHING ELSE"?

Programming / Re: What Kind Of App Does Nigeria Lack At The Moment? by Solomon6383: 2:55pm On Nov 07, 2021
All other things like what? The API is not the issue. I and the Company that will designed this have already spoken about that. My main problems now is how to register so it won't look as if am operating Illegally because I really hate operating something illegally. The main aim of partnering with anybody now is to be justified as far as registration with CBN and others is concerned.

Uncharted56:
depends on the level of partnership, at most if you want to process international payments they will give you permission to use thier api but all other things you will sort it out yourself.
Programming / Re: What Kind Of App Does Nigeria Lack At The Moment? by Solomon6383: 2:31pm On Nov 07, 2021
I think I can as well partner with a company who enabled international transaction and I too will also be able to process international payment?

Uncharted56:
international stuff is on another level and you have to cooperate with the countries laws and open a physical branch, infact if you have trillions of niara to spend along with massive funding and deep connections then go for international stuff or else best to stay away and succeed in your country first.
Programming / Re: What Kind Of App Does Nigeria Lack At The Moment? by Solomon6383: 2:28pm On Nov 07, 2021
Thank you so much! Now, the main reasons of partnering with a CBN registered Company is just to stand for me incase the Government challenge by Company on the issues of registration right and nothing more

Johnwick64:

If you are sure, it will interest million of users, be careful of deals you make with the company you partner with. You don't want them to be gaining more from you than you gain from them. I don't think the company should charge you, taking a percentage would be a better deal. Hope you bring something new into the fintech ecosystem.

Good! Now, I think you're talking. I love the last paragraph. Partnering with Company who has the license. That is the exact thought that have been coming to my mind. As for the API, I think that's not an issue. The developer would get that done because am paying a company in Lagos to design the App for me so if I say I wanna design doesn't mean am the one who wanna do it. I'm paying s software company in Lagos who would do that and we've already discussed about the API issues, that's a very small challenge. Also, what I mean by funding myself is that I am the only one who wanna use my fund to execute this, to get someone to help you with fund nowadays is very hard to see as we all know the situation of the country that's what I mean by Funding myself. As for the partnering with a company who is duly licensed as a Payment providers, I think that is the best way to go if they'll not also charge me huge amount of money that is beyond my power but I am sure if my payment idea should be fully ready, it will Interest thousand of users even Million in nearest!!!!

Johnwick64:

shocked shocked : funding yourself, how big do you want this company to be. There's a going to be a lot involved not just this CBN registration that would require money.Funding yourself does not seem like a good idea. There are other stuffs like you building your own API or purchasing existing companies own.
paying for the license is one thing, passing the requirements is a big deal. You would need to provide documents to show your plan, research you have made about customer growth, in some countries Information that prove YOU have the level of CAPITAL required, risk management you plan on putting in place.
Something cheaper you could do is partnering with companies who has the license and you can discuss economic split.
CBN is the body put in charge of regulations here, in the UK it's the FCA and the PRA.

Javanian:
Due to the numerous "i want to start programming, which language should i start with" threads on this board i decided to create a thread that will address this issue. I am not a wonderful writer and i won't say i know it all but i will try. I urge every one on this board to correct me where i err an also contribute in whatever way you can to make this thread worth it. I will try as much as possible not to be biased in this write up.

I am not going to go into detail in defining what programming is because i will assume before entering this thread you should already know what programming is. But in summary programming is the act of creating whatever you want with your brain and computer programming is the act of creating whatever you want with your brain and a computer. You can read more from

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_programming

Programmers could also be called software programmers, software developers and other big-big names you can think of.

Feel free to ask your questions, i will try and answer the ones i can my Ogas in the house will help me with those i can't answer

Please every Programmer should try as much as possible to check on this thread once in a while to help answer some questions Newbies would like to ask.

Series of which Funding? I am Funding by myself so it's a big problems. To get the App done on ios and Android store and be functioning effectively is not the issue but this CBN registration. But if I may asked, this is an International Payment App so why does it really concerns the CBN? It's not only limited to Nigeria even the main currency of the App would be in $ so does it really necessary I registered with CBN or am the one that's just disturbing myself?

Johnwick64:

Well in dollars it's a couple of millions, they have to place it as a benchmark so only serious business will be able to apply. Hopefully you would make back the 2 billion in a couple of years. But you don't expect them to let you facilitate billions of naira in payment without paying that huge.
With series of funding, that should not be a problem.
Programming / Re: What Kind Of App Does Nigeria Lack At The Moment? by Solomon6383: 12:00pm On Nov 07, 2021
Since it's an International Payment App and not only limited to Nigeria, is it possible for me to register it with another Financial institution outside Nigeria? For example; Central Bank of Ghana, Central Bank of India which it will be a little bit cheaper than this CBN of Nigeria?

Johnwick64:
Nobody would trust you with their money
Programming / Re: What Kind Of App Does Nigeria Lack At The Moment? by Solomon6383: 11:40am On Nov 07, 2021
But if it wasn't register with CBN but only register the Company name with CAC what would happen?
airsaylongcome:

That's the regulatory requirement o! And it's to limit entry to only serious businesses.
Programming / Re: What Kind Of App Does Nigeria Lack At The Moment? by Solomon6383: 11:26am On Nov 07, 2021
Please, I am planning on developing a Mobile Payment App that will be available on iOS and Playstore and will be able to use Globally but my research on CBN registration is not encouraging or am I the one reading fake news? How on Earth can you say CBN registration for Online Payment App which all it requires is just a virtue fund can it's registration be said to be above 2BillionHow much is even the creation of the App? Using 2Billion to register an App that was designed with less than a Million Nigeria is the problems of Nigerians.

Johnwick64:
payment!! Seriously?? With the amount of fintech apps we have in Nigeria now.. This companies self don't solve any problem. They process payment but not everyone can even pay for something on Google playstore, problem of this payments app is when you need your receiver to also use the fintech service you use. You would have to use an app that google play store can receive from when you want to purchase a game but when you want to buy someething from another store, you still have to get another app accepted by the store..flutterwave and haystack are mostly used by small businessess not individuals.

Education / Re: Nans Presidential Candidate Plans To Boycott Convention by Solomon6383: 11:32pm On Nov 27, 2020
TEAM ALABI KAYODE ALOPAY DEBUNKED THE NEWS CIRCULATING THE MEDIA TO BOYCOTT NATIONAL CONVENTION.

Before mass leaders seize the power to fit reality to their lies, their propaganda is marked by its extreme contempt for facts as such, for in their opinion fact depends entirely on the power of man who can fabricate it.

It is worrisome and disheartening how some NANS presidential aspirant are desperate and as result to propaganda and seeking cheap popularity, team Alopay received with shock a news circulating the media, most especially Nairaland, it was alleged that team ALABI KAYODE ALOPAY as vow to boycott the national convention stipulated to hold from 29th November, our campaign as been on the gospel of peace, love and steadfast and we have not in anytime plan to boycott the convention, the news is coming to destabilize and tarnish our hard earn image.

We hereby urge the general public not to believed such news and disregard it.

We shall Never Be Discouraged!!!
