.... Luiz don start.... Baba will never stay at the back... ![]() |
..... Ozil in the stands.... that's good to see.. |
..... Ozil Neva still ready, only God know wetin dey happen but Kolasinac don show.... |
BlueRayDick:... I confuse first....... lol... na Torreira. All those South Americans with their Epistles of names. |
Confirmed Arsenal team to play Burnley today in the Premier League: Leno; Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, David Luiz, Monreal; Ceballos, Willock, Guendouzi; Nelson, Lacazette, Aubameyang ..... Let's go boys... COYG!... I am surprised Nelson and Willock starts ahead of Mhki but regardless, let's do another clean sheet today. |
Spy360:.... Lol, obviously not the case with Chambers and Luiz but it's similar. Competition is good and in this case creates a platform for younger players to learn from older, experienced ones. Chambers could build on this and displace Sokratis, who knows but that's the message the board and coach is trying to pass across. Do well and you can displace anyone. Your place has to be earned in the team. Spot on bro. A win tomorrow and another clean sheet will only ginger the guys for Liverpool's game. Yes, it's Anfield but we can do it. COYG! |
Spy360:. We have Liverpool and Tottenham after tomorrow's game so the coach might want to bed in the new signings quickly and improve our overall passing which starts from the back. Yes, it is good to reward good performances but just because Willock did fine against Newcastle doesn't it mean that If Ozil is ready tomorrow, Willock should start. It doesn't work like that except if the kid is incredibly talented and that's not the case with Chambers. There are many games this season and he will start most of the cup competitions and the premier league pending injury. .... Rene won't be the player he is now if he stayed back at Arsenal. He wouldn't have gotten the minutes he had last season if he was here. That's the problem with youngsters. Chelsea have no choice but to use them because of the ban. As a club, we have been through this journey before and it didn't turn out well for us. Yes, it produced talented players like Ox, Wilshere, Gibbs and the king of them all - Fabregas but at what cost? A lot of them turned to shit despite the time given to them and we won nothing with them and got little in terms of monetary value. The idea that the young players will come good made us make nothing out of them, this thought softened the blow of losing Iwobi. ... Now, we sell the kids, if they come good and become world beaters, it's all good. They get sold and we get millions from sell-on clauses or we realize quickly that they might not be world beaters at least with us and get sold for good prices just like the case with Iwobi and that polish defender we sold to Derby. It's the new, ruthless regime we have now. The same thing will happen to the present youngsters except they prove they deserve to be playing for a top team else they get sold. |
Spy360:..... Chambers was solid against a very poor Newcastle side and we also struggled to move the ball from the back because of the two centre backs who couldn't especially Chambers. Luiz is a better and far more experienced defender than Chambers and he is one of the best center backs in the league when it comes to playing from the back. The coach is after results and not spoiling any one's game. Even Chambers himself knows Luiz is the better defender. ( read his recent quotes about him.) .... Moreover, Chambers won Fulham's player of the season playing in midfield, he didn't do well in defense. It was Newcastle bro, let's not get carried away here. ... Ozil might start, it's not a sure thing. He only just returned to training. I think people just overkill Mkhi on this thread, he actually created lots of chances against Newcastle just that his final ball was always over hit. He will get it right, he is close. I see him starting. Ozil is better at creating chances, yes; but right now, it's who is ready and not who is better. Mhki is ready, not sure about Ozil at this point. |
Roland17:.... True! Last season when we thought that top four was as assured only for the team to lose against Everton away and Crystal palace at home and then draw with Brighton. One game at a time indeed. |
..... Xhaka is injured, a slight keg bruise but he will be assessed to see if he can start. He is extremely crucial to how we play and shouldn't be risked for the forthcoming games. I hope Guendouzi and Willock and Mhki will be ready to take the Midfield in his absence but I won't be surprised if Ceballos and Torreira starts ahead of the two up there. I don't Pepe will start but if Emery feels he is ready then he will. ... LINE-UP - Leno - AMN - Sokratis - Luiz - Monreal - Xhaka/Guendouzi - Guendouzi/Torreira- Ceballos/ Mhki - Lacazette - Auba - Pepe/Mhki..... We might have Ozil and Kolasinac on the bench this time. ... We have to win this game. Winning against lower oppositions is massive to securing top four this season. |
krattoss:..... Whether na him relationship with Turkey presido abi na gang something, only God know but e dey obvious say UK police sef na yeye Dem be. If e continue like this both of them fit commot but no be this window. ... UK don cast sha. |
..... I was critical of Ozil's performance last season but I thought he was fine during the pre-season and this season could be better than the last for him but since that attack, Omo he don red for am oh. This is clearly becoming more than a robbery or something. We might not see him on the field in time and even if he plays, his head might not be right. I am really feeling for the nigga. He and Kolasinac. Kolasinac's new wife don japa commot for England, talk say she no dey come back. See wahala ![]() ... Mesut Ozil steps up his security with 24-hour dog patrols outside his home and Sead Kolasinac go into hiding after getting caught up in gang war. |
Jodera:.... Exactly bro. I have confidence playing Man United and Chelsea and Everton and even Spurs right now despite the fact that we haven't hit our strides but a smooth, oiled machine like City and Liverpool is too early for us. The squad is still the same as last season, the new additions need time for them to exert their influence. It's just being realistic nothing about paper fans here. |
Fkhalifa:..... Exactly bro, we couldn't beat their press and pace that day. Sallah and Firmino show Papa shege that day and not even Luis will be any help. Pepe and Ceballos haven't really integrated yet and Ozil is still a doubt because of security issues. Fans are forgetting that we don't really have a play pattern yet and we don't use the midfield as we used to. So I don't know how we are going to slow the game down and use passes to kill them while at the same time keeping intensity with them by pressing when without the ball. ... The intensity we had last season has gone but I hear Emery is planning high intensive training this week and he had better do something fast because if we play like we did on Sunday, na serious raping we go collect. If our new players had settle down, I for no get problem but it's too early to play them, too damn early. Burnley's game will tell if we have come up on speed. .... Those passes wey Mkhi and Ceballos and Xhaka were losing in midfield anyhow did not give me confidence. Make we survive first half and I will fit watch second half. |
Dreamswayne:.... We dey here. |
Dreamswayne:.... Ain't you scared with Sallah and Mane facing Niles and Monreal and Firmino facing Luiz and Papa? I am still trying to forget how Sallah and Firmino especially the latter finished our defense last season. Even with new signings I am still deliberating on watching the match. |
kokaneprodigy:.... I meant no disrespect, I just don't know what to call it anymore. Let's move on sha. |
Spy360:..... The thing just tire me my brother. Some guys here just like argument and to troll their fellow fans. |
kokaneprodigy:..... Baba twister, Kai!.... I said both share weak shots which I have explained, I never said Iwobi learnt it from him. Guen is improving but my point is that Xhaka that makes mistakes week in week out is not the sort of player to learn certain technical abilities from. It's why I mentioned that he would have gained a thing or two from Cazorla if he was still here. Ceballos too since he is the best technical midfielder at our disposal. Complete development still rests on the coach but like I said I don't think Emery is that kind of coach in the mold of Klopp and Guardiola. But it doesn't stop these youngsters from picking up a thing or two from senior players. ... That's my point and I think I explained it well in my former post. At this point I think you are just trolling. |
BlueRayDick:..... Walcott's problem was never finishing in his later years, it was his consistency and lack of technical abilities that finally made Wenger decide to sell him. Baba will play for two matches and then carry injury for months but he will play excellently well when he wants a better contract. It was frustrating. He scored nearly 70 goals in over 270 goals and raked in 40 assists. That's not bad for a winger/ forward but his injuries killed not his ability to finish. ... Maybe not true in most players but you can't tell me youngsters don't learn one or two things after they move to full training with them. When I was younger I learnt a few things from seniors in my school as they played football. Not in all cases but most youngsters take something from older ones even unconsciously. |
kokaneprodigy:..... Yup, exactly. Those shots he places at angles. Walcott shoots them with power usually from distance but Ozil and Iwobi prefer to place with style resulting in weak shots because you can actually curl with power. It's just depends on the finisher. .... Passes ke? Except those straight balls he gives Kolasinac, nothing more. Most times na overhit which Ozil rarely does. |
BlueRayDick:..... Still not a fan of Lacazette but I understand he is a different kind of forward similar to what Giroud brings to the table but now we have that balance that Wenger wanted to create before Van Persie took off. A back to goal forward that controls the ball and brings other people to the play and another who is a deadly, pacy finisher. |
BlueRayDick:..... I don't know what Iwobi was trying to learn from Ozil but I never saw that in his game save for the timid shots both of them share in. But in Walcott's case, he actually learnt something from Henry. His shots and angle of placing became similar to that of Henry's but yes, it starts from the coach. It also depends on the player too and his attitude to learning. |
BlueRayDick:.... I no believe am until I see am. We have a world beater in our team sha. |
BlueRayDick:..... Lol, those ones are generational talents. Rodgers made Sterling good but Guardiola made him better. Coaches work on players but it doesn't mean that they don't learn one or two things from other players. Abi you never hear players say so and so be their role models. I remember Wilshere saying he watches a lot of Pirlo videos. Wasn't Wenger his coach then but there was something he wanted to master and Wenger couldn't give him that. .... Coaches like Klopp, Wenger and Guardiola are rare because they work on players and make them better. Others are very good managers and better tacticians and I think Emery falls into that category. But still, major developments in players is due to the coach but players pick one or two things from better players in their positions too. |
kokaneprodigy:..... That's true but you forget Giroud was never meant to be our first striker, he was supposed to be back-up to RVP before the latter left for Man United and Napoli coming for Higuain and how about the failed Suarez bid?... Lol, Wenger was stubborn but he knew he needed a better striker but still Giroud score a lot of goals at least more than Lacazette but he just wasn't supposed to be the first striker. .... I don't think Emery is similar, I mean he brought Ceballos for a reason. He knew he needed a better 8/10. We shall see as the season goes who will start in midfield together with Xhaka, but right now Guendouzi is likely to start in that midfield. He has certain things going for him like his height and long range passes. |
kokaneprodigy:.... I know you hate that but improvements na small small...This is his second season. |
Fkhalifa:.... Exactly bro, the league is something else. Bennacer now play for Milan and Adelaide is being courted by Monaco. These are players that didn't cut it here. Torreira and Guen faded out because of the busy nature of the league but they started brightly. Last season was adaption because no one will give you time and space on the ball in England. It's something Xhaha is still finding difficult to learn but currently Guen has learnt that. They are asking why he is starting and yet he is one of the best midfielders we have got. How does one iron out his mistakes and become better which he is already doing if he doesn't play? Emery sees something in the kid else he won't be starting him. |
kokaneprodigy:.... The coach has his job which is true but players learn too from their fellow players especially as regards certain parts of their game. Walcott once said that he became a better shooter because he learnt it from Henry. Younger players tend to learn a lot from older players and superior players in their positions. It's the basic law of leadership. |
...... The way the pages here flew from 1507 to 1522..... Nice one folks. The thread is coming alive. |
kokaneprodigy:..... Holding on to the ball a bit too much is his game style. Someone in the midfield has to hold the ball na....lol. He will learn anyway, by the time Ceballos shows him how it's done after he is being integrated properly, he will surely improve on that. He is shown enough improvements already this season. .... I rate him because he and Willock are the future of our midfield and not Xhaka. Xhaka will be phased out but presently he is the better player between the two youngsters. Like I said hopefully he will win you over. Na here we dey. |
kokaneprodigy:....Yes, that's the pass to Auba. |
