....... Just been to the Everton subreddit .... come and see hype for Iwobi.... lol... I hope they give him time though and I love the farewell that was given to him too on our own subreddit. It's just class..... Arsenal fans supporting and doing the hyping on Everton's space. Amazing from both fans.

.... This is what Koscienly could have enjoyed but I doubt if he now cares anymore, not that he won anything significant with us and he was one of the reasons we didn't win either. Silent, classless player.

I watched him play left wing last season in some matches. At least that was where he played vs man utd I think.

From the screenshot below it shows he plays both LW and RW
.... Those matches were few...... he was either played centrally or on the right wing.

We need good squad depth to challenge Liverpool or City.
We were all angry with Iwobi being a starter, but we all know he is a good squad depth player.
Liverpool has Shaquiri, Chamberlain, Lallana for squad depth. Those are experienced EPL players and not untested academy Boys.

Selling Iwobi doesn't look that good. Especially when we didn't even buy an upgrade on the left wing position. Keep him for squad depth, Ozil and Mkhitharyarn are useless and can't contribute much. Iwobi created more chances for us last season than both and his salary is good value for what he provides.

We only weakened our team selling Iwobi and putting hope on Nelson who had a failed loan at inferior Bundesliga, and did not in anyway look impressive against weak opponents in the pre season. Nelson cant dribble past his first marker, something Iwobi provides you with, and his finish isn't better than those of Iwobi.
How much did Liverpool spend to buy Shaquiri to sit on their bench for squad depth? Why did they not promote an untested academy boy instead?

This Iwobi sale was more about finance than football reasons, and it doesn't bode well for the future. Just when we thought we were going to start seeing a brutal Arsenal going all out to dominate in football, they went and pull off this bullshit.
The only way this Iwobi sale will make sense is if we replaced him with Zaha. But that didn't happen. So again, it was all about balancing the account books.
.... Baba, your head is there. Must everyone in the squad be a Pepe in terms of quality. Are we Mancity? Our best attack even till now cannot best either of those two teams, yet there bench has enough quality to spank yet we sell a good player because of an amount too good to pass off. Chamberlain was bought for nearly the same price we are selling Iwobi yet he hasn't contributed quarter of Iwobi did last season.

... This is my point as well as yours but some people here are blabbing about shooting like at 23, Iwobi should be Mbappe. Zaha at his age was nothing special, look at him now. It's just disappointing jare.

And Emery said he will start Nelson on the left wing? Where?

Even when iwobi was here The coach deploys Auba to the left wing instead.

Casing in on iwobi for good money is the right thing to do and the management has done that
...... Baba, that's not true. That wing was Iwobi's last season. Auba started on the right wing....

Baba, Iwobi will not develop any further with us because we were playing him out of position and it bothered me. The kid is talented but he may never get that shot at his preferred position with Arsenal. We did the same thing to Chambo, Wenger concluded he was a winger because of his speed even though he showed otherwise in training and the display against my Milan side. We are doing the same thing to AMN by playing him as a RB even though he is a CM and we see how he struggles and suffers every time he comes up against a true winger. Eboue suffered the same faith when we moved him from his RB to the RW, his regression was fast and furious. 40m for a team rebuilding is a lot of money to overlook and I hope Everton give Iwobi the opportunity to play in the CM/AM position just like he does with the Super Eagles.
..... Okay, I get it. It's nice that you have the kid at heart unlike some folks here.

We saw Wilshere against barca, Oxlade against Ac Milan,Guen against city and Chelsea, Fab against juve,Eboue against Madrid, Bellerin against bayern, Niles against utd pogba, and many more..All those kids they hype as next pires, which big stage did they show?

Iwobi broke into the team in 2016 after that game at nou camp, he became fans favorite, they even composed a song for him in England, " Oh Alex Iwobiiii, Oh Alex Iwobiii.. And lastly in thier faces, he came on in that European final and showed them, On that big stage, scored the only goal Since Sol Campbell in 2006.
.... That's what I am trying to tell them bro. No be because of potential of Saka and co Dem allow Iwobi commot, na because of that 45m offer. Emery will pick a half fit Iwobi over any of those kids any day.

... Iwobi was our best academy product since Wilshere. You don't place a 45m offer for a bad player. The lad improved a lot last season and that beautiful goal at the finals showed someone who was working on his weaknesses. Anyways, Silva is a talented coach and will surely work on Iwobi.

Again, you guys are being unbelievably emotional and hypocritical about Iwobi. Emery said he was in his plans a few days ago and rightfully so because there was no offer for him. Everton became interested after they failed with Zaha. We rejected the initial offer and that showed the intent of the club to keep him but Everton returned with an offer that is too good to turn down. We have been very very meticulous in our transfer dealing since the arrival of Raul and this is not an exception.

Iwobi's growth ceiling is not as high as you guys are predicting especially if he does not play regular football in his preferred role. Do you expect Arsenal to reject 40m for an inconsistent player who had a below-par season last year? Please tell me you are kidding!!! Because he will never command that amount again especially with the level of competition in this team.

Wilshere is glass footed and can not stay on his feet if his life depended on it, between him and Diaby I can not say who was worse. We saw what a healthy Chambo can do under the right coach playing his preferred position when he returned for Liverpool before the season ended. With Arsenal, we were forcing Chambo to play as a winger (LW) even though it was obvious he was a CM and not a winger. He joins Liverpool and is playing in his preferred position and everyone is raving about him including his coaches and team mates.
..... Baba, I explained myself wella. Some folks think it's because Iwobi is brain dead, blah blah blah blah that's why he was sold rather it's because of the offer which came in for him. My point is that Emery won't put his hopes on those kids because Iwobi is brain dead, he would rather have gone with a brain dead player than kids who have shown nothing extraordinary. That's why I used the Wilshere and Chamberlain examples. Are these kids better than those two at the same age? The answer is a big no but despite the trust Wenger placed on them, they didn't deliver. Anyway, good news is that from now on, if you don't perform well, you get sold.

.... No sensible coach buys a brain dead player for 45m .... it's the improvements in Iwobi's game last season that convinced Everton to place such an offer for him.

.... It's all gone anyway. We should look forward to the new season.

Point is, the variable (physicality or bullying) you are using against Nelson, Martinelli, and Saka is pretty much applicable to Iwobi. In fact, we can not make any conclusive argument against the physicality of Nelson, Martinelli, and Saka because we have not actually watched them in the EPL in comparison to Iwobi whom I can make a conclusive argument against using your variable.
..... You want to compare Iwobi's physicality and height with Nelson and co huh What on Earth is actually going on tonight, the way people are saying things contrary to what I know them for.

.... Emery said Iwobi was in his plans and few days later he gets sold. You think a coach like Emery will go into a new season with a teenager from fourth division in Brazil and a player with a failed loan spell and another who just got promoted from the academy as his starting wingers..... lol..... It wasn't his choice mate but that of the management. It's not because they are that good or even half the player Iwobi currently is, it's the offer that came in for him.

... Abeg, enough of this hype with youngsters who have done nothing extraordinary. Wilshere had far better prospects than either of them, same with Chamberlain but we know where they are today.

Everything is not stat I keep saying, Mustafi with all the shinny stat, wetin we gain?
Nelson is very not ready, he isn't even starting in England U21s, his goals in bundisleaguedown are what any teenager can score, his general game play hasn't improved, he side and back a lot for a winger, he can improve anyways but physically and mentally? He isn't ready..

Christensen is even better, I cringed when I saw Lindelof used one arm and waist to clear Auba off the ball, the last time we fielded teenagers in a big game, we lost 8-2...
Auba or mhicky on that LW means Tierney will suffer what kola and monreal suffered, in fact opposition will have field day on that wing.
... Lol, someone is asking me if Auba can be easily bullied, Auba of all people, lol. Emery is in his second year and he must find a way to patch things till we get a proper left winger. Tiernay won't be ready at least for a while, I am just wondering who will start in that position against Liverpool and Tottenham because as we saw against Lyon, one bad positioning from Auba or whoever is there and one lofted ball and we are done for.

Saka and Nelson are not ready, we hype our youngsters a lot, not many are like Sancho and Mbappe those ones are rare , most Academy players improve/improve as years go by from experience and good tutelage...

This is not a friendly Colorado fc,newyork all stars or those gradeB teams, I saw Nelson bullied and disposed at old Trafford, when the real game begins those kids I doubt will do it..

Iwobi is young and matured, only thing left in his game is Finishing, Iwobi has top class game experience, a UCL game at Nou camp and impressed, he's been to the world cup, scored and shone in our only European final game in a decade...Faced lots of heavy weights in Europe, city, l.pool,Chelsea, PSG barca and many more..

This is painful!
...... No worries, people will say Nelson scored 7 goals during his loan spells but won't see that he lacks in several other areas, Saka is even worse, same with Martinelli, they have zero experience. Look at Willock, see how Emery guided and slowly blended him in the team without pressure, today he is doing it against big teams but it won't be the same for Nelson and co. They will be thrown straight into the deep end and they are yet to show they are even remotely ready.

...... They will be bullied, even a 6'2 striker is always bullied and I was shocked with how Christensen bullied and Manhandled Lacazette the other day, talk more of light weight teenagers. Anyway, it will be Mkhi and Auba starting there most of the times, those leeches have to earn their money regardless.

Look at the Zaha situation... After this summer, if anybody buy Zaha for anything higher than 50m, let me know...

Unless he goes on to have a monster season...

Plus, he's a ball player and can give those long passes from deep...

He is still energetic and athletic...

He's a leader too...

Sokratis, Luiz, Holding and Chambers is better rotation option once Mustafi is banished...

Next season, we bring back Saliba and go big on Upamecano...

Upamecano would never cost much next summer with one year left on his contract...
..... I don't think he is actually better than our current options except for Mustafi. He has ball playing skills but should we sign him, Emery has to drum it into his skull that he has to be disciplined and remain as a center back and not another midfielder.

... We have a leader already in Sokratis so I don't think we are getting him for that. Koscienly is gone so someone must replace him for this season.

.... Upamecano's release clause is around 90m and will decrease by 10m next summer. His club is a very difficult one to negotiate with so I personally don't see this signing happening except we if we cough out the cash.

... I am not excited for Luiz but him and Tierney won't be a bad ending to the window.

...... I can't believe that Arsenal is willing to sell Iwobi even for 40m huh It just doesn't make sense..... He is one of the only proper winger we have who can break defenses except if Coutinho will be his temporal replacement. I am not happy but it's all business which is why when one gets an opportunity he utilises it properly; Iwobi didn't and now he is being sold to the highest bidder. I feel for him especially when other players who didn't perform last season are still in the squad..

... Anyway, It shows Raul is serious about selling players we don't need. Rooney is leaving DC United in January and reports are saying that they will discuss with Ozil's contacts this week. Obviously he won't move this window till January at least. Raul is not playing around though.

Well, since u already said he is good player I don't think we should be having a long argument over what u said immediately after that.

He's a good player that has made mistake in the past season. Guendouzi is a young player that made his own share of mistakes but we are being told he is still young and still developing. Mitland-Niles made errors too but we hear excuses like he is not a RB so we can't be too hard on him. Xhaka is a fine player that makes mistakes too but he usually win us game points with his rocket shots one of which left de gea rooted to a spot.

I guess the reason the hammer is dropping on mustafi is cos there's no excuse foe his bad run of games.
.... Exactly bro, no hard feelings for Mustafi.
