http://thenewsnigeria.com.ng/2015/03/27/bloomberg-investors-want-jonathan-to-go/chai! On one hand: (Bloomberg) — President Goodluck Jonathan left the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange after a visit two weeks ago to traders singing “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow”. Some investors would prefer that he keeps walking. On the other hand: Buhari: foreign investors believe he will be better for business Buhari, a 72-year-old former military ruler, is seeking to unseat Jonathan, 57, in what is set to be the nation’s closest election since Nigeria ended military rule in 1999. |

kotlass: @ Presiade and Soloniger; It's one per Registrar because the document is always addressed to a target Registrar. Also, a BC won't fly if your signature specimen has never been sent to that particular registrar due to your secondary market activities, except you have participated in a primary market transaction (e.g IPO) to which they were the Registrar. Reason being that the Registrar needs a specimen (in their data base, obtained through your primary market activity or from CSCS) to compare with that from the Bank.
P.S. I stand to be corrected. ok I understand, so when this is done those who say their papa grand papa and grand grand pp left the share can have their dividends outstanding for maney years abi? |

sellydion: My take is:
1. Do not borrow money to invest 2. Search for company with Good fundamentals over the years 3. Research the company for future developments 4. Time your entry ( buy when the stock starts to advance) 5. Time your exit.
From my experience if you buy good company at almost the turn of the year you always make a decent gain before the results and if the result is good you are in for good money.
For now I buy Dangote Sugar. ( cheap, market leader, good dividends over the years, great future plans) Please let know what others are buying and simple reasons? from the archives |

While some pessimists are busy focusing on the negative impact this crash would portend for the nation’s economy, this writer is one person who sees the nose diving of oil price as a blessing in disguise for Nigeria, irrespective of the temporal challenges the economy may experience. The unexpected fall of crude oil price would not only awaken our politicians from the slumber of complacency to diversify the nation’s economy from oil, and resuscitate non-oil sectors like agriculture, solid minerals, tourism, textiles and steel industries, etc, but will exert pressure on Nigeria’s political leadership to restructure the economy by reducing the bogus size of government. http://leadership.ng/features/400092/dwindling-oil-price-blessing-disguise-2 |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by soloniger(m): 10:37pm On Jan 06, 2015 |
Why is the price of oil falling? Four things are now affecting the picture. Demand is low because of weak economic activity, increased efficiency, and a growing switch away from oil to other fuels. Second, turmoil in Iraq and Libya—two big oil producers with nearly 4m barrels a day combined—has not affected their output. The market is more sanguine about geopolitical risk. Thirdly, America has become the world’s largest oil producer. Though it does not export crude oil, it now imports much less, creating a lot of spare supply. Finally, the Saudis and their Gulf allies have decided not to sacrifice their own market share to restore the price. They could curb production sharply, but the main benefits would go to countries they detest such as Iran and Russia. Saudi Arabia can tolerate lower oil prices quite easily. It has $900 billion in reserves. Its own oil costs very little (around $ 5-6 per barrel) to get out of the ground. http://www.economist.com/blogs/economist-explains/2014/12/economist-explains-4?fsrc=scn/fb/te/ee/ed/whyoilpricefallingexplains |

joseph1013: It's possible. He probably got in at a time when there was no bidder, or he logged out before there was a bidder. Or his price might be too high. Or so many people are willing to sell the same stock such that the supply was way more than the demand. All kinds of scenarios that could make your mandate not go through.
Again, why give your broker mandate when you can do it yourself with MorganCapital with less charges. I'm starting to get tired of giving this advice to people in this house. oga don't get tired by helping you bsitl, pls how can I migrate from my Analog broker to Morgancap? you may refer me to previous detailed post/posts |
