Elai147: I think both are okay with mid-long term approach. Dangote sugar is reacting to the usual forces of the market after enjoying a moderate bullish rally. There is good appetite for this stock despite its recent bearish trend in the past few days and I think it will pick up soon. Nahco has been lingering on its N6 support line for some months now and I expect it to break through this support before bouncing back. Thanks Bros. |
Elai147: IMO, First bank and GTB are among the top class in that sector and are very good for long term (I am assuming your investment in these 2 banks should be for long term). Unity is almost at the car park- there is no point selling now- just wait a little and it will rise again, perhaps above cost basis. Even though cutting your losses can be a very good strategy, I only fancy it for short term (trading stock) buy. If your strategy is for long term, there is no point cutting your losses in the short term except in the advent of a logical reason to do so. So your decision to hold for long term should be based on rational analysis... watch out for bad news that can lead a company to bankruptcy.oga what can you say of dangote sugar and nahco which are losing |

jahjehova: pls who will take my hand to learn the ropes here? help a broda men.Elai147 says above, Don't lose hope when your stocks are not doing well especially when you start out. Everyone felt a sense of disappointment at a stage in stock investing, especially as a novice. I lost a lot of money too some years ago when I was still a newbie in the stock market. I was just following the advices of stockbrokers who only get paid when I buy or sell stocks. They don't mind advising you to buy 1 million units of one stock at once, so long as they get paid. When I discovered they were the reason behind my losses, I took up the challenge and started reading books and managing my investment portfolio myself. Try and follow this thread and some other investment threads in nairaland forum as well as SMN forum. Ask questions and don't get tired of reading books on investments (you can get most of them online and for free). Good luck! |
sellydion: Hi my guys, well done for good jobs. I had to empty my portfolio because of a huge investment I needed to make , hence I have been absent from following up the trend. As activities pick up I will be glad to fully return. Keep the good work going. |
