It is time for NFF and West African football associations to complain about the regional policy by CAF for under 17 and 20 qualifications. Paring best teams against themselves does not make sense. Nigeria , Ghana and Senegal cannot qualify for under 20 because they have to eliminate themselves. West Africa has good result and better teams in world cup ,why not allow the best teams to qualify ? Why should Nigeria play against Ghana in under 17 qualifiers ? These two countries have the best results. Ivory coast and Cameroon could not qualify for women AFCON because they played against Nigeria .

Since Dr Motsepe assumed office, this has been the order of the day. I'm so pained that a golden generation of Golden Eaglet players of 2025 and 2026 will go unforgotten because of a stupid policy which doesn't develop the West African subregion. If they must use this format in WAFU B comprising of seven teams; Nigeria, Benin, Cote Ívoire, Togo, Ghana, Niger, Burkina Faso- then why not play it the way it is done in South America, each team play themselves in a league format and the two top teams qualify. This is much better instead of this 2 group thing system that eliminates the best by mistakes or shear luck.

So we can only have just 2 of Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso at the Afcon. These 4 are the traditional powerhouse of African football at u17 level.

Even if they are hell bent on this satanic arrangement, wafu should be demanding for at least 4 slots based on history and performance.

Missing out for the second time in a row after the fifa tournament has been expanded to 48 teams is so painful.

We only sabi invite. A case study is Onyedika that was on the bench and Ndidi played all through. Man know man approach is not factored in.

Iwobi is our best attacking midfield outlet. But since Rohr, he's been struggling but he still ensures nobody contributes to attack than him till date. Despite that struggling tag on him. Since he arrived Fulham, they've never ever deployed him the way he plays at Fulham. one would think his performance vs Man U would help but they still play him deep and expect him to shine like his uncle JJ. Dessers was thrown under the bus by the Media officer of NFF just out of spite and lack of understanding of the setup of this team. Most of them only sabi 442 of old. Nothing more. Ask them to explain Gengenpressing or Joga Bonita now and they'll stammer. I doubt they watch Dessers at his club for understanding how he plays. This is one player that banging goals is no problem for him. But it changes every time it is GWG. I know not everyone will fit in and all that but until they begin to prioritize player's strengths over myopic nostalgia, we'll continue to struggle. Merino struggles for Arsenal but shines for spain. Two different approach. System player if you like. He shines for arsenal when deployed how he's deployed in Spain.
