Please let's focus on our darling Super Falcons and their preparation for Olympics and forget those yeye super chickens. Female football makes more sense now than male. |

MallamSpicey: Omo if someone woke me up and told me the Super Eagles of Nigeria are dragging second to last position with Zimbabwe in an expanded world cup group that has teams like Lesotho, Rwanda, and Benin republic...I would have slapped the person for such insult and gone back to sleep thinking it was all a dream. But here we are, this is our reality in 2024.
Honestly this calls for an emergency situation in our football, Tinubu has to get involved and implement some tough decisions right now before it gets worse. Left for me, i no send person papa so I'm a firm advocate of overhauling 80% of this team, call up any fringe player(s) out there who will give his word and bond to fight till the last to salvage our world cup hopes, then such players should be made national heroes. I'm all for calling back or even begging veteran players like Victor Moses, Balogun, Ighalo and any other active player to come back and save us in our remaining games. These current set of guys apart from Osimhen and Ekong just don't have that rugged Naija never-say-never in them, these ones are IG models and banger boys on Twitter.
All hands must be on deck to make sure we win our remaining games and at least make the playoffs where we can decide our fate. NFF must send their best delegates to beg our veteran players who have retired to come back and make history for themselves! We are in a football crisis right now. Good advice. Hope they are reading this. If we have a high quality coach to coach Nigeria on a part time basis like Randy Waldrum, I no go mind. |

At least thank God our female teams are making us proud. Super Falcons will be going to the Olympics, U20 Super Falconets going to Colombia while the U17 Flamingos are at the verge of booking their plane to Dominican republic
U17 Golden Eaglets, U20 flying eagles and U23 eagles going nowhere. Now Super Chickens might not go to the world cup 2026 |

Meliforme: Is coach Finidi leaving the responsibility of winning entirely on his players?
I have not a reason to doubt Finidi untill his recent statements that purports as follows: formation is not important and Players interprets when to attack and defend
You may fail to grasp the overall import of what he is saying untill you read again to discern the connection between the two ideas expressed.
Coming on with a good formation is entirely the job of the coach. Formation is basic to good play and to winning. The coach decides the right setup of players
The decision to attack and to defend is also on the coach, the coach instructs his players the various situation that should lead to an attacking or a defensive stance and the strategies to involve.
Football is team sports, it is collective effort, being a collective effort requires collective actions which the coach directs, else the team is disoriented. Why am I feeling off about Finidi? Under his charge many of our key players are still not around and we are preparing to face South Africa on Friday. |

Odunayaw: BREAKING:
Nigeria qualify for U17 AFCON Nigeria finished in third place to scoop the bronze medals and book a place at next year’s Africa U17 Cup of Nations after a hard-fought 3-2 defeat of hosts Ghana at the WAFU B U17 Championship on Tuesday. For several days now, there had been opacity around the number of teams that would proceed to the 2025 Africa U17 Cup of Nations from the tournament in Ghana, but the window opened for the third-place winner here when, minutes to kick-off, Cote d’Ivoire (already in the competition final), was designated as hosts of next year’s continental finals. With Cote d’Ivoire as hosts and guaranteed a slot, Burkina Faso (no matter the result of the final match) and the third-place winner in the earlier game of the final day, were assured of berths in Abidjan.
Source: NFF. That means Ghana might still qualify if CAF increase the number of slots. We have quality in the West African region. CAF should please scrap off this nonsense zonal qualification process. |
