YES, u can be a christian without going to church if u define christian to mean 'I have been saved.' Salvation does not depend on going to church. Though Heb 10 clearly tells us not to neglect the gathering of ourselves. But in my own opinion, a genuine believer will not lose his or her salvation by failing to go to church. Cos to my own understanding salvation is a gift from God. Read Ephesian 2:8-10
