Health / House Passes $8.3 Billion Bill To Fight Coronavirus by SoluB: 8:01am On Mar 05, 2020
The House Wednesday, in a bipartisan 415-2 vote, passed a more than $8 billion spending package for emergency COVID-19 coronavirus funding.
Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) announced the move and funding in a press release, explaining that it’s not a political matter—but a public safety concern.

“This should not be about politics; this is about doing our job to protect the American people from a potential pandemic,” said Shelby in a statement. “We worked together to craft an aggressive and comprehensive response that provides the resources the experts say they need to combat this crisis. I thank my colleagues for their cooperation and appreciate President Trump’s eagerness to sign this legislation and get the funding out the door without delay.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) noted that “Americans urgently need a coordinated, fully-funded, whole-of-government response to keep us safe from the widening coronavirus epidemic,” while adding that $3 billion is being spent on the development of treatments, $300 million will be used to provide a free vaccine, $2.2 billion will be used on “public funding and prevention,” and other measures.

Business / Why You Should Have A Business Plan by SoluB: 6:05am On Jun 02, 2017
A business plan is a written description of your business's future, a document that tells what you plan to do and how you plan to do it. If you jot down a paragraph on the back of an envelope describing your business strategy, you've written a plan, or at least the germ of a plan.

Recently someone asked me why they needed a business plan if they were getting all the funding they needed from friends and relatives. It sounded to me as if they were thinking of a business plan as just a fund-raising tool. In fact, a business plan is much more than that: It's a tool for understanding how your business is put together. You can use it to monitor progress, hold yourself accountable and control the business's fate. And of course, it's a sales and recruiting tool for courting key employees or future investors.

And of course, a well-written plan is great for attracting talent. When a prospect asks to understand your business, you can hand them a plan that gives them an entire overview. Their reactions tell you something about how quickly and thoroughly they can think through your business's key issues. Plus, the written record of your goals coupled with a track record of delivering against those goals sends a message loud and clear: You understand your business and can deliver the results you promise. Great employees will respond to that message-as will banks and investors the next time you need to raise money.
So viewing your plan as a fund-raising tool is just the beginning of the story. You'll use the plan for so much more-for managing yourself, for operating the business and for recruiting. Before deciding to skip your planning phase, consider all the implications and what they mean for your future success.

Some Reasons Why You Need A Business Plan

1. Grow your existing business. Establish strategy and allocate resources according to strategic priority. You can find Click to read more http:///2rLgvWY

Business / 3 Simple Lifestyle Changes To Make You More Productive by SoluB: 10:21am On May 17, 2017
If you look up productivity tips, you will notice that the Internet is flooded with them. There are dozens of experts online that want to share the information that they have discovered, and they make lists, articles, infographics, and more. They want you to know how to be productive. Unfortunately, these lists are packed with humdrum advice like “Don’t watch so much TV!”
and “Get up early, everyone works better first thing in the morning!” However, personally, I get a ton done throughout the day, and I still manage to watch an hour or two of TV in the evening. I like it. It helps me relax.
Being productive isn’t about working more hours. Being productive is about understanding how your mind thinks, and how you can maximize the hours during which you work. Here is a look at what can make you more productive, and why it works.

What to do: Make a To-Do List
For years, I have had a to-do list. Actually, I have had several of them. At the beginning of the week, I make a big list of everything that needs to be done throughout that week. This list is organized based on clients, but it’s not in chronological order. Meaning, if I started at the top and worked my way to the bottom, things would be all messed up.
Every morning, or sometimes in the evening before calling it quits for the day, I make a smaller list on a scratch piece of paper. This list organizes, in chronological order, what I need to get done for that day and some extras. I make a mark on my list that shows where I absolutely must get to for the day, and anything beyond that mark is a bonus.
Barring outside circumstances, I never miss my mark.
If you want to accomplish more than you thought possible, make a to-do list.

Business / Goodnews For Nigerian Investors; Bitcoin Jumps To $900 by SoluB: 10:24am On Dec 23, 2016
Bitcoin headed for its biggest weekly jump since June as rising geopolitical risks boosted demand for alternative assets.

The cryptocurrency surged 15 percent this week to $900.40 as of 2:38 p.m. in Hong Kong, taking its gain this year to 107 percent, data compiled by Bloomberg show. The last time it was at such levels was in January 2014, when bitcoin was tumbling from its record price of $1,137 following the implosion of the MtGox exchange and tightening Chinese controls.
Bitcoin is extending a rally that’s beaten every major currency, stock index and commodity contract in 2016. Buyers sought alternative assets this week amid the killing of Russia’s envoy to Turkey and a separate attack that left 12 people dead in Berlin. Weakening pressure on the yuan, which intensified this month as the U.S. projected a faster pace of tightening next year following Donald Trump’s election win, is also increasing demand for bitcoin in China, where the majority of trading occurs.

“Terrorist attacks in Europe boosted haven demand in capital markets, and gold has been falling since Trump was elected,” said Le Xiaotian, an analyst at Huobi, a Chinese exchange. “Global instability has to a large extent directed funds to the bitcoin market.”

Bitcoin, which trades in cyberspace and is mined by code-cracking computers, is gaining popularity among some investors as an alternative safe haven because it’s deemed to be less influenced by government regulations and changes to monetary policy. Gold, which tends to trade in tandem with bitcoin when haven demand is strong, has fallen this quarter as U.S. rates rise, narrowing its premium over bitcoin to the least in three years.

Politics / A Nairalander Writes Open Letter To Mr James Ibori by SoluB: 11:40am On Dec 22, 2016
Dear Mr Ibori,

Immediately you set your feet on Nigeria, defect to APC at once. Don’t waste any minute. Jump ship and get baptized. It would help your story to be re-written: you would be presented as a victim of bad politics even though you pleaded guilty to the offences you were convicted of.

Mr Ibori, would you want your homecoming to be a national celebration? If yes, then you may need to declare for APC even before you leave UK. This would facilitate a heroic welcome for you such that top dignitaries would welcome you at the airport. But remember, once they welcome you, abuse Jonathan thoroughly. Abuse him again. Abuse him yet again and again.

You see, some other people have regained relevance through this formula. Whether you like it or not, Orji Uzor Kalu has recovered all his political losses through defection. By merely joining APC, he has been suddenly granted national relevance and catapulted to the status of Igbo spokesman, in spite of his horrid records while in office.

You need to be wise, Mr Ibori. Be the Nigerian politician that you are. Sanctify yourself and gain a bloated media attention and national relevance by joining http://www.istylmagazine.com/news/politics/an-open-letter-to-mr-james-ibori/
Romance / Sex Robots: Set To Displace Women In The Other Room by SoluB: 9:16am On Dec 20, 2016
Sex between married couples will increasingly be saved for special occasions as robots step in to satisfy everyday needs, experts have predicted.

Use of artificial intelligence (AI) devices in the bedroom will be socially normal within 25 years, an international robotics conference has heard.

Comparing sex robots to the rise of the ebook, Dr Trudy Barber, a pioneer in the impact of technology on sexual intercourse, said the machines would enable people to greater appreciate “the real thing”.

Devices such as Rocky or Roxxxy True Companion can currently be bought for around £7,000, but advances in the field are predicted to make sex robots increasingly lifelike and affordable.

Speaking yesterday at the International Congress of Love and Sex with Robotics, Dr Barber said people’s growing immersion in technology means it was only a matter of time before it takes a mainstream role in sex.

Politics / Breaking News: Pdp Alleges That Apc Is Planning To Burn Inec Office In Edo State by SoluB: 4:11pm On Dec 17, 2016
Press Release
December 17, 2016.
Re: Edo 2016 Guber: APC Set To Burn INEC Office To Cover Up Election Malpractices
Our attention has been drawn to an incident that occurred on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, wherein representatives of our great Party, the PDP and that of the APC of Edo State chapters were at the Edo State INEC Office in Benin City; in continuation of the inspection and verification of materials used during the 2016 Governorship Election in compliance with the Order of the Election Petition Tribunal.
2. In view of the above, the Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is reliably informed that during the Exercise on that day, new exposures of misdeeds emerged against the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State during the Election. These revelations were critical that made the APC representatives outrageous accusing the INEC staffers of conspiracy. The situation degenerated into intense quarrel making the APC members threaten persons and property of INEC; and the weightiest was the open threat to burn the INEC Office in order to prevent the Electoral Umpire from providing credible evidence at the Tribunal.
3. The APC representatives demonstrated readiness to carry out their threat by assaulting the INEC personnel in the presence of some of our members and other people who saved the situation. It is hopeless for members of a political party that claim to have won the Gubernatorial Election resorting to an unruly aggression in such an exercise. However, we are not surprised at their public misdemeanour given the overwhelming evidence available to us showing that the Election was mindlessly rigged for the APC but justice will be done in favour of our Candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
4. We therefore call on the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the State Security Service (SSS) to immediately arrest this ugly situation by providing adequate security during this exercise to forestall breakdown of law and order. We believe that this show of anxiety and aggression of the APC will continue if nothing is Read More http://www.istylmagazine.com/news/politics/breaking-news-pdp-alleges-that-apc-is-planning-to-burn-inec-office-in-edo-state/
Foreign Affairs / 101yr Old Rapist, Faces Jail In Britain by SoluB: 8:49am On Dec 17, 2016
101-year-old paedophile faces being the oldest person ever to be jailed in Britain after he was found guilty of a string of historic child sex offences.

Ralph Clarke – who was born in March 1915 – showed no reaction as the jury delivered the 21 guilty verdicts on Friday.

The pensioner, who was in his late 20s when he served in the RAF during World War Two, sat back in his chair and leaned on his white walking stick as he listened.

His three victims wept as the verdicts were delivered and hugged each other in court after they were completed.

Clarke, of Erdington, Birmingham, admitted nine sex offences against a boy, who he abused between the ages of nine and 14, halfway through his two-week trial.

A jury of six men and six women took just under eight hours to return unanimous guilty verdicts on 21 sexual offences against two young girls.

He was cleared of one charge of indecency with a child.

Judge Richard Bond said he would sentence Clarke on Monday morning after he had heard victim impact statements and submissions on the guidelines.

Clarke, who walks with the aid of a white stick, was given special permission to sit outside the dock at the back of the court during the trial.

Foreign Affairs / Is This World’s 'worst' Christmas Tree? by SoluB: 8:03am On Dec 17, 2016
When Rome’s city council posted pictures of the Piazza Venezia Christmas tree on Facebook, they were overwhelmed with responses – but it wasn’t the most festive kind of feedback.

“It makes me want to vomit,” said one user, while another dubbed it “albero dell’austerity” (the Austerity Tree) – a name which has stuck. “It would have been better not to have anything at all, it’s so ugly!”; “It’s just like the rest of the city – full of holes and covered in rubbish.” You get the idea.
“Romans want a more beautiful Christmas tree at Piazza Venezia, and they’ll get one,” Mayor Virginia Raggi announced on Wednesday. “I’ve asked for more decorations and lights to be added, within moderation.”

The original Christmas tree budget had been curbed in order to save money for city projects such as improving parks and children’s play areas. Both the Christmas tree and lights had been donated to the city, leaving the council with just a €15,000 bill for transporting and rigging the tree, according to Italian news website The Local.

Foreign Affairs / Uganda’s Rwenzururu King Charles Mumbere To Get Own Cook In Prison by SoluB: 8:36am On Dec 16, 2016
A Ugandan king facing terror charges should have a private cook and a small fridge in prison, a court has ordered.

Charles Mumbere, the king of Rwenzururu, is entitled to these privileges because he suffers from hypertension and diabetes, it added.

But prison authorities say an outsider will not be allowed into the prison to prepare his meals.

The king was arrested last month after a security force raid on his palace in western Uganda’s Kasese district.

More than 80 people were killed in the clashes.

The 64-year-old monarch denies any involvement in violence.

He was arrested with more than 150 people, including royal guards.

‘No plugs for fridge’
His lawyer, Caleb Alaka, told the BBC he will ensure that prison officials comply with the court order.

Mr Alaka said he initially thought there was a royal cook among those arrested but they had all “perished” during the raid on the palace.

The monarch would accept a cook appointed by prison authorities, he added.
Officials also said there were no plugs in the cells to power fridges, local media reports.

But Mr Alaka told the BBC the king’s medication must be “kept under a certain temperature”.

He was prepared to install a plug in the monarch’s cell so that he can have a fridge, Read More http://www.istylmagazine.com/news/across-the-world/ugandas-rwenzururu-king-charles-mumbere-to-get-own-cook-in-prison/
Science/Technology / Revealed: Face Book To Blacklist Fake News Sites by SoluB: 8:20am On Dec 16, 2016
Facebook says it will start applying warning labels to some “fake news” stories that users share on the social network.
Articles that are known to be false — seemingly published with the intent to trick people — will be marked with what Facebook is calling a “flag.”

Below the headline there will be a red label that says “disputed by 3rd Party Fact-Checkers.”

Users will be able to click on a “learn why this is disputed” link to get more information.

Facebook will not be doing the fact-checking itself. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has repeatedly said that “we do not want to be arbiters of truth ourselves, but instead rely on our community and trusted third parties.”

So those third parties will be fact-checking organization that have committed to the International Fact Checking Code of Principles, which was recently established by Poynter, a journalism organization.

Several dozen fact-checking organizations around the world have signed on the code of principles.
“We’ll use the reports from our community, along with other signals, to send stories to these organizations,” Facebook VP Adam Mosseri said in a blog post Thursday. “If the fact checking organizations identify a story as fake, it will get flagged as disputed and there will be a link to the corresponding article explaining why.”

My Personal Chat With Consultant Popoola By Godwin E.

Thank you for visiting MMM! Is there anything I can do to help you?

Me: Hi

Consultant Popoola:
Hi

Me: Really scared of the info we are getting everywhere. What’s really happening, Sir?

Consultant Popoola: The only reliable news is the one you have on your PO. There is a temporary hold on the Mavros. This is just to protect the community from going down. We have learned based on many experiences that during this Xmas season people tend to GH more than PH and when the balance is not set right, there might be an upset in the system. Since MMM Nigeria is doing very well, the Admin wanted to keep this community alive for a very long time and that’s what we all want, right? So in order to do that we have a preventive measure which is to hold the Mavros during the holiday season. But once this has passed everything should go back to normal. So there is no need to panic; participants just have to be patient so that the community will be even stronger than it already is. We are not on any terrible situation; we are doing what’s best for everybody.

Me: I see! Does that mean I should still go ahead and provide help that I’ve been matched to pay since?

Consultant Popoola: Yes, you should!

Me: OK! But someone who was also matched to pay me refused to pay, and I didn’t get re-assigned as before. Will I also have to wait until January?

Romance / Five Reasons You Should Never Try Anal Sex by SoluB: 10:15am On Nov 26, 2016
Ordinarily, there should be only one (main) route to sexual satisfaction – intercourse, but in reality, people have devised several means to that destination, and one of the ways some people have adopted is anal sex. This means sex through the anus.

And the act seems to be growing, because in spite of the society’s stance on it and how much it has been condemned by some medical experts, a report by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, under the United States Department of Health and Human Services, shows that 44 per cent of men and 36 per cent of women have had anal sex at least once in their lifetime.

Apart from those who tried it once in a lifetime, a report by WebMD, an American corporation that reports news and information pertaining to human health and well being, found in 2015 that as many as five to 10 per cent of sexually active women engage in receptive anal sex.

Notably, apart from consenting heterosexual adults and homosexuals, it has been observed that some of those who also practise it are young men and women lured into it based on money, while some children; young boys and girls, have been or are being sexually abused by older men.

Regardless, given that some have already embraced this backdoor action, it is however instructive to note that there are serious health risks attached to anal sex, and some of these include:

1. Severe physical pains: One of the many adverse effects of anal sex is that it could cause serious physical pain, as the penile penetration could tear the tissue inside the woman’s anus, while the man could also feel some pain on his penis. This is mainly because the anus is not lubricated like the vagina, thus, thrusting might bring about some pains, more so that the skin on the penis is such a flexible one that is prone to tear on slight friction. Even though such people tend to use lubricants like cream, to lessen the pain, Dr. William Blahd, an emergency medicine specialist, who wrote on WebMD, noted that using lubricants does not completely prevent tearing of the tissue in the anus. While both persons may try to enjoy the act, it was also gathered that the pain after the exercise may not go away quickly, especially if the man has a bigger organ. Blahd would also point out that apart from the pain, consistent anal sex could affect the functioning of the anus and affect the overall health of such persons.

Foreign Affairs / How Donald Trump’s Grandfather Was Kicked Out Of Germany by SoluB: 9:00am On Nov 23, 2016
According to CNN, Donald Trump’s grandfather was kicked out of his native Germany for failing to do his mandatory military service there, a historian has claimed.

A local council letter from 1905 informed Friedrich Trump — who had become a United States citizen — that he would not be granted his German citizenship back and that he had eight weeks to leave the country or be deported, German historian Roland Paul told CNN Tuesday.
He also claimed that Trump had illegally left Germany, failing to notify authorities of his plan to immigrate.
The Trump camp did not immediately respond to CNN’s questions on the research.
The findings have sparked interest as President-elect Trump vowed to crack down on illegal immigration in his election campaign.
“Trump talks against illegal immigration, so I think he should remember his own family story from time to time,” Paul said.
Trump proposed a wall be built between the US and Mexico as the centerpiece of his anti-immigration drive. He has also threatened to deport undocumented migrants who have committed crimes in http://www.istylmagazine.com/news/across-the-world/how-donald-trumps-grandfather-was-kicked-out-of-germany/
Foreign Affairs / Google Clamps Down On Sneaky Malicious Sites by SoluB: 6:58am On Nov 18, 2016
Sites that repeatedly violate Google’s safe browsing policies will be classified as repeat offenders, the company said last week.

A small number of websites take corrective actions after Google displays alerts on their landing pages warning visitors that they’re harmful. However, they typically revert to violating the policies after Google goes through the process of verifying that they’re safe and removes the warnings.

Google verification procedures may launch automatically, or webmasters can request verification through Google’s Search Console.

Webmasters of sites classified as repeat offenders won’t be able to request additional reviews through the Search Console for a period 30 days under the new rules, which went into effect last week.

Google’s warnings will appear on those sites during the 30-day period.

Google will notify webmasters of sites established as repeat offenders with an email sent to their registered Search Console email address.

Technology Market / Google, Facebook Move To Restrict Ads On Fake News Sites by SoluB: 5:59am On Nov 16, 2016
Alphabet Inc’s Google (GOOGL.O) and Facebook Inc (FB.O) on Monday announced measures aimed at halting the spread of “fake news” on the internet by targeting how some purveyors of phony content make money: advertising.

Google said it is working on a policy change to prevent websites that misrepresent content from using its AdSense advertising network, while Facebook updated its advertising policies to spell out that its ban on deceptive and misleading content applies to fake news.

The shifts comes as Google, Facebook and Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) face a backlash over the role they played in the U.S. presidential election by allowing the spread of false and often malicious information that might have swayed voters toward Republican candidate Donald Trump.

The issue has provoked a fierce debate within Facebook especially, with Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg insisting twice in recent days that the site had no role in influencing the election.

Facebook’s steps are limited to its ad policies, and do not target fake news sites shared by users on their news feeds.

“We do not integrate or display ads in apps or sites containing content that is illegal, misleading or deceptive, which includes fake news,” Facebook said in a statement, adding that it will continue to vet publishers to ensure compliance.
