@ Ajisafe, I did not say the worst atrocities have been by muslims. After all, the IRA used to bomb people in the name of christainity. What I said was in recent times, it has been the muslims that have gone about killing people. What does America's bombing have to do with religion. Don't you think saying I make you sick is a bit too strong a statement in response to my opinion of your religion. Its things like this that make me wonder, I'll tell you what makes me sick-the killing of innocent people in the name of islam. |
@ Zahymaka, what is this forum for? I did not come and start anything. I don't reply to random posts. If it is something I feel strongly about, I would state my opinion. So I am sorry if it offends you. Maybe you can tell me how far ago Hitler's time was. Speak of recent events like 07/07/2005, 26/07/2005(or whatever that date was), then i'll understand where u r coming from. |
I have never heard anyone say all muslims are violent. I am sure people are not that ignorant to think that all muslims are violent. Truth be told-it is violence that puts muslims in the headlines. So i guess it'll be fair to say a good majority of them are violent. A religion that encourages cutting someone's arm off for stealing or death by stoning for adultery in this day and age. Abeg tell me what that sounds like. I tell people, my closest muslim friend is one of the sweetest girls I know but it won't blind my eye to the truth. |
Islam might mean peace but most muslims don't practice this. Period. I have nothing against muslims-my ex boyfriend and one of my closest friends are muslims so I would say I am very tolerant. I also understand that not all muslims are in support of the violence. But facts are facts-a majority of muslims are not peaceful, They must take a cue from the christains' peaceful reaction to Davinci code,
[li]The young girl that was made to leave naija because of the fatwa placed on her(article she wrote in thisday). A documentary was shown on bbc about her and the whole story. I was very dissappointed at the backwardness of our own people(its not only muslims in the middle east that are violent). [/li] [li]The events on september 11- that has to be the most wicked act committed by any man irrespective of religion. Masterminded and carried out by muslims [/li] [li]Bomb blasts on 07/07 in UK- the naija boy's mother's speech simply broke my heart. Atrocities commited by muslims [/li]
I could go on and on but , am sure we know all these things so please muslims should stop being hypocritical and defensive when people state they are violent. Instead, they should think of ways to promote peace among themselves and educate the extremists on what it takes to be a good muslim. |
I would vote Utomi because I believe he is our best option at the moment. At least Nigeria has seen that illiterates clearly do not have what it takes to rule the country or leave when the time is right. |
Education in Nigeria=bad. I schooled in nigeria so I am talking based on experience just before I get accused of not knowing what i am saying. I believe the reason why people are able to do well abroad is because of the naija mentality and discipline not because of the sound education they received back at home. If you don't settle for less and put in your best efforts, pls tell me why you won't succeed. I like the posts of people who have been honest esp the guy who made a first from Ife. He is bound to do well because if he could make a first without the right facilities and support, then that must mean he is able to adapt well plus he is brilliant. So please what stops him from exceling or making a distinction with the right support/facilities. What I will not blame on the universities is the poor english of some graduates. The students' pre university education is certainly to blame for that. And please nobody should tell me, english is not important. It is the official language in Nigeria. Studnets are not taught in their native languages. Please name an office in Nigeria that the language spoken is a native one. Whether we like it or not, English language is an important part of education in Nigeria. The chinese and other nationalities we like to compare ourselves to in terms of english are taught in their native languages. Therefore, it is understandable if their english is poor. @omon, I am very curious as to when you graduated from uniben. And please pple that finished many many years ago should stop assuming that the system is still the same. It is as ridiculous as comparing ife to the days my mum was there with now. Though I will not dispute the fact that Ife is one of the best choices an undergrad in naija would have. |
I believe that Chris Okotie would not be president anytime soon simply because of the corrupts ways of Naija. I personally don't have an opinion about whether he should be president or not. But having read most of the replies, I wonder why few people have so little faith in God. If we believe that God can make all things possible, why do you guys doubt that with God's help, Okotie cannot lead the nation. Of course, we don't know the authenticity of this vision from God about him being president. But surely, if God has called him to lead the nation, He would guide him to be the best president we have had. |
I am sorry oh but i have never heard so much rubbish under the guise of opinions. A good girl is a good girl no matter where she lives. You can say a Nigerian brought up abroad might not have the same values as one back at home but to say that the girls back at home are "better" is utter nonsense. Why? Girls in naija rely on men for credit, date aristos to buy baffs and visit jand etc. , Girls in jand work for their money to pay phone bills, rent, buy baffs, But still, I would not say that girls abroad are better because as my friend once pointed out, girls in nigeria don't have the opportunity to work and earn money like those here. I studied in Nigeria for a bit and came here to complete my studies. I was not wayward oh but I used to live in a house with alot of girls and boy, i saw things. Men of all sizes and shapes(governors, commisoners etc, )dating girls from supposed good homes. So now one stupid boy would now come and tell me that since I have lived in the UK for some years, those ashewos back home are better than me. God forbid!!!!! Same way there will be some wayward girls in jand but maybe my friends are just good girls, but most of them are shocked at the kind of things that girls back home get up to. My point: Where a girl lives does not determine whether she would make a good wife or not. |
Hi, can people kindly state the starting salaries for fresh graduates in the major industries in Nigeria. Would having a masters make this salary higher? |
Am doing a research on the benefits of mergers & acquisitions in the automotive and maybe commercial industries. |
@ consultant, it is the official list as it is the same list by nuc. just got it from another site due to the erratic behaviour of the nuc site. |

I remember someone sent my uncle the official league. can hardly remmber but it think unilag was number one(even though i don't agree), Ife, Uniben , can't remmeber the rest. those were the top three. Come to think of it i think UNN was number four or it was no three and uniben was number 4. but those were the top four unis. |
Thank you naija pikin. @ skidoc, Dele Momodu is from edo state. Don't know what part (I SHOULD KNOW, I AM EDO) but there is a part of edo state that they have yoruba names. |
Is anyone going for this summit. I got an invitation but now am having second doubts about whether I want to move to naija. Anyway, I would still go to see what they have to offer me. |
I am an electronic engineering graduate. Was the only girl in my class. Only two people made a 2.1(no firsts) and i was one of them. What can I say, girls rule!!! |
@darqly, the link is active. just click on the link in my post cause i tried that just now and it worked. |
Intern TV Reality Show - Nigeria It seems reality tv is hitting naija big. Anyways, methinks this show is our very own apprentice. For those of you interested the link is http://www.internshow.com/ First price: N3,000,000, Kia rio 2006 model car and automatic employment. Other nice prices for second and third runner-ups plus i think all applicants get trained at Lagos Business School and there is a chance for employment. |
@skidoC, Dele Momodu is soooo not yoruba. He is from edo state. |
@bettyhoop, if papermoon's sons are now 9, wouldn't it make sense that £20000 was enough to buy the reporters especially if he wasn't David Beckham more than nine years ago? |
I confess that I just broke up my bf I confess that even though i know its for the best, i can't seem to let go I confess that i need to let go and let GOD I confess that i am being selfish by wishing we could sort things out when i know there is no future for us I confess I joined this site to help me stop thinking about him I confess I am going to london in the hope that i'll see him I confess I don't know how to move on, its so hard I confess I feel comfortable confessing because noone here knows me |
