komekn: Thats a delusional proposition that's without any iota of substance. Can you expatiate as well as substantiate.
This is not the youth team where the term "nurture" is tenable not in the senior national team.
You are selected by merit not by nurturing.
Where do the best players from Nigeria play and where are you going to select from.
We have a two tier system where there is African cup based on home based players. Those players are by merit selected if proven to show quality. However, most just couldn't rise up to the standard.
It's not the job of the national team coach to nurture players it's his job to SELECT by merit. I don't play Ostrich, what foreign coaches get in Nigeria, they hardly give same to local coaches. We know all these They get preferential treatment, prove me wrong by comparing all our coaches employed so far. As for nurturing, I doubt they want him to USE home base by force, I doubt that but if that is included in the contract (want you to prove that), then he should walk away. No one is putting a gun to his head. If our football becomes worse due to this, we know who to hold responsible! |

komekn: The NFF is not a government department.
I am sure you should know it's an independent private corporate entity registered with FIFA.
So your analogy is really lacking merit. Dey there make pant wear you. Lmc is the private owned not NFF NFF is under the sport ministry which is a government body and they receive yearly fund from the government via the sports ministry to run their affairs. I can't believe you don't know this! |

But I agree with the part where you said a good person can’t rule Nigerians The argument part is that some people think our leaders are aliens, forgetting that they are a product of our system/person/culture |

komekn: I could take you up on that proposition.
The system is rigged with systemic deep rooted corruption and and sharp practices. To be a politician in Nigeria you have to literally sell your soul to the devil.
The second MAJOR PROBLEM is that the electorate currently do not think that integrity, truth, righteousness and honesty are attributes that are essential for political office.
That's why a confirmed and convicted corrupt former governor who pleaded guilty in UK court is welcomed back to Delta state like someone who has been given a knight hood by the Queen or more. I am Talking about Ibori.
The reality is if he could contest for governor of Delta state, he would probably win. That shows the perversity of our politics and the electorate.
We have a very long way too go.
As it stands it's considerably easier for me to contest to become an MP in the UK parliament than it is for me to contest state house of assembly in my own state. A good person can't run or lead Nigeria or Nigerians, take it or leave it. Even if you are good, with time, they will screw you over. A country where majority are bad can't have good leaders. This is the truth, you can only argue with your Shadow on this. I dey vexx |

On the other hand the powers that be to mitigate against the overbearing influence of Amaju may push for Yobo. If he leaves, a foreign coach is taking over from him, take this to the bank. None of the names you mentioned will head the coaching crew! |

komekn: Unreasonable conditions that lack any sense of rationality and understanding of national football team progression.
It is not the duty of the national team coach to nurture players. It is his duty to select the best players at his disposal and get the best winning team he can.
It's what players do in thier respective league and clubs with consistent, top class and outstanding performances. That's what gets you selected.
If our league is below par and filled with old men claiming to be young boys as many have claimed here. It's not the national team coaches job to fix it.
From what l have gathered the local youth academies seem to be more promising than the league. According to many here once again.
Now we come back to the core purpose of the national team, " To win tournaments and games"
The best Nigerian players do not play in Nigeria but Europe that's just reality. So why should he spend most of his time in Nigeria.
Amaju who is talking how many times a year does he come to London.
This is subterfuge and snacks of hidden agendas and behind it all is the issue of £££€€€$$$. If he can't "nurture" players as the head coach/general manager like Bonfere Jo, Westerholf and co did, he should hit the highway. He's not being forced to take it. Too many partiality for anything not black in this damn country! He's been working on his terms for 3 years, so he's in a better position to know if this is okay by him or not. He's been given a week to review the contract. He's an adult He knows what is good for him. Enough of all these preferential treatment for anything "foreign" in this country! |

So because the nonsense has been going on mean it should continue. why earn in another man's currency in another man's land where you work? do you know the pressure it puts on your own currency? he should earn in the amount the money he's paid with is earned. those sponsors earn in Naira and do business within Nigeria in Naira. the govt that gives money to NFF also gives them in naira. He can go to change it in the bank to any currency he wants just like others do when he wants it sent to his country. We take too many nonsenses in this country. sucks! Subzero047: The Naira fluctuates and the NFF want to take the safer option of paying in Naira. Hope you know the players requested to be paid in Dollars rather than Naira |

tbaba1234: Stay in Nigeria and nuture players Every country is picking their best players and we want the national team coach to sit in Nigeria and nuture players.
It took Keshi 18 months to get some players to a decent level to play for the super eagles. And there was no long term benefit. 18 whole months. And some players ran away at the first chance of a European contract.
Fix the league and you will not need anyone nuturing players. The players will be nutured by their clubs. The conditions stated didn't say he MUST use local players, so he's not being forced to use them but at least give them a fighting chance by not completely writing them off. How is this a bad thing? fix the league, fix the league, with a magic wang? is this not part of it? when local players know they have a fighting chance of making the NT, they will work harder and some investors will also look the league way due to the fact that any club they invest in may likely get good fortunes if their players make it to the NT. SIMPLE! |

timay: As a National team coach, most of the conditions are understandable, the only part that seem crazy is that part that says he will be paid in Naira. Like WTF!!! Shey na Naira he will be spending in his home in France or what. He's an expatriate na. It is is standard practice to pay expatriate in Dollars Make NFF kuku face the man and tell him his services are no longer needed rather than yarning dust If he's living in Nigeria, Why then is he spending in USD? His country don't even spend USD but EUR. Those working abroad, are you being paid in foreign currency or your host country's currency? So what is the issue here? |

Audio financial donations? they said they are yet to get any monetary donations o. MainJoe: I am sorry but I can not commend gross incompetence. Because, the mismanagement of UK health system does not give any credence to gross ineptitude.
In Nigeria we have money released and donated to curb this virus. Yet, we are yet to see investment in where it is most needed. We have States, sitting on massive IGR and allocations refusing to open testing labs or set up quality isolation centres. Without private sector donating, lots of State would not even have isolation centres.
Until the federal government changes its policy on policing people and not the virus, I can not give them praise in any way. |

This is not the solution o. Let us wait for like 1 month before deciding to go this route. we are not sheep, should not be following US up and down like a sheep. They are not a model to follow on this pandemic issue, we rather follow countries that have shown proof of curtaining the virus, not the ones recording hundreds of death daily. Seun: It looks as if the reign of the dreaded Coronavirus is nearing its end as countries are beginning to realize that the WHO’s guidance against wearing face-masks is comically, tragically, obviously, and totally wrong.
For example: https://www.latimes.com/science/story/2020-04-03/cdc-recommends-wearing-face-masks-during-coronavirus-pandemic
PS: Here in Nigeria, Cross River and Abia states have decided to allow people to come out of their homes if they have face-masks on. The Government of Abia State even charged tailors to sew 3 million face-masks because imported face-masks are scarce right now.
We are waiting for the federal government to implement this policy nationally so that we can shut down the Coronavirus instead of shutting down our economy. |
