To say that this same NTA budgeted and spent billions of naira moving from analogue to digital broadcasting a few years ago. NIGERIANS ARE THE DISEASE eating the country. Do you actually know that Akpeyi is a decent GK but a bad one when it comes to psychology? I was watching his distributions and it was top notch. If that guy was in Europe, he would have overcome his emotional disaster. Eartquake1: The guy is good

Kbs468: CARL IKEME would have been the undisputed number 1 by now but for his predicament.
Now, is anyone of those you mentioned in the class of IKEME?
Or even the UZOHO of recent?
I believe Not. But then, since UZOHO has no clear cut stats from a regular and consistent club outing before now, Does that mean he is not good too and shouldn't have been invited but those you referenced? Those I listed are above the other 2 and some of them are ahead of Uzoho too stat wise. Afelohai is in that range except for not having the opportunity to play his trade abroad. This season is what has actually helped Uzoho club wise, before now his stats was just a little better than Okoye Like I said, by stat, the names I listed are all better than Okoye and Ezenwa clubwise since that is the only yardstick we can use for them all. |

Kbs468: Good to know that the above had transpired in here.
But anyone rooting for rookies like this ones not also guilty of the same perceived offense that ROHR and his goalkeeping Crew are being accused of?
Going by the fact that Goalkeeping position is not like every other positions that can anyone and everyone displaced at any given opportunity?
Knowing fully well that CONSISTENCY is the watch word for the Goalkeeping department?
Besides, We are not known to boast of good Goalkeepers since the days of 'Dodomayana' PETER RUFAI and IKE SHORUNMU except for ENYEAMA VINCENT that also stood out creditably well too. Did you take time to compare their stats with our current GKs? Where did you put ikeme? |

comodo: Abeg stop this goal post shifting. Nigeria doesn't have any GK in any top league. We have just promising young GK here and there. The Ejimadu, Okiki lawal, Nwokolor. Alampasu dey club less They ain't even in top leagues. Just like okoye. Rohr is d coach, we ain't. Na here we dey talk catch them before they blow. GK area has been problematic for SE. Let's just pray that Okoye fulfills his potentials. All the names you listed are in higher leagues than Okoye and have better stats too except alampasu. Which potential? 17 goals in 7 matches is potential? what about Ezenwa? potential too? |

Kbs468: You have also just faltered without backing up your claim of good Goalkeepers of Nigerian descent without quoting or mentioning any, Only to use the generalization 'All over the Internet' and that people posted about them here.
One would have expected a confirmed research on at least one of them to be put forward on a day like this as proof.
By the way, The reason for AKPEYI's Coming back is simply because of the SE gaffers policy of inviting only players in form while plieing their trade week in week out though which is not the case for OKOYE and EZENWA.
And that explains why IHENACHO hasn't been invited again just like AKPEYI displaced UZOHO for AFCON in Egypt after the World CUP because of match rustiness but having secured a new challenge, He got his spot back for both UKRAINE and BRAZIL friendly.
please if you want to bombard the NFF Twitter handle, ensure you've got a definite number of good Goalkeepers of Nigerian descent for reference, else everything would amount to effort in futility.
cc darkelf One in brazil one in switzerland 2 in israel 2 in the NPFL I will give you their full names when I get on the pc. You can search this thread for names dropped already. So I didn't falter cos what I wrote has been discussed here before with the names. Note :Philip Ejimadu playing top league football higher than both Ezenwa and Okoye and even Akpeyi. Afelohkai better than Ezenwa and fact and figures in the league attest to this Femi thomas too Sebastian Osigwe ( goalkeeper – SC Kriens, Switzerland) |

darkelf: Oga, I dey gbadun you Jo. If Rohr has to call back Akpeyi for a Benin game, its obvious that he rates Akpeyi above the other two. I don't know how this is still an argument. That okoye guy sef....his stats aren't even encouraging and I wonder if he is even good enough for our under 23 team Hence the reason I previously compared him with the current U23 GK |

darkelf: You are absolutely right. We have complained here severally about Alloy's continuous display of mediocrity and questioned why he was still the GK trainer for the Super Eagles. That dude is very annoying to say the least. If there's one home based coach I dislike more than Imama or aigbogun or Many Garba, it is alloy Agu I swear, if I had the power to determine the coaches of the SE, Alloy will be the first person to leave that team. He has added no value whatsoever to the team. We need to start clamouring for his exit immediately and I think I'm going to start that movement from twitter I won't relent until the right thing is done in that department. |

Kbs468: Yes OKOYE has conceded 17 Goals in 7 this season already without any clean sheet actually
But, Why the whole unnecessary debate about him already when nobody is saying ROHR should risk him or EZENWA that is Match Rusty because of lengthy NPFL break for the NIGERIA vs BENIN REPUBLIC and LESOTHO?
Besides, Why don't you also mention Nigerian Goalkeepers doing great anywhere in the world presently that is being overlooked by ROHR instead of inviting OKOYE?
Or is it the league that is on holiday but just returned for about 2 weeks now that would produce good Goalkeepers? Is it not what is also counting against EZENWA inspite of his experience that he couldn't be trusted in the absence of UZOHO? . That is almost 3 goals per match playing in 4th division. Ezenwa hasnt played up to 30 1st team league matches iin almost 4 seasons. didn't start last season. There are GKs of Nigerian decent playing day in and out in better and higher leagues Its everywhere on the internet and some names were posted here too not to talk of those playing in NPFL and caf club competitions The mediocrity in the GK department is an issue to me if not to you or anyone else. Will not relent with bombarding nff handles |
