Like Maitatsine, boko haram began as a disgruntled group. When Modu Sherif openly ordered opening of fire on them at a road block it escalated. Then when soldiers caught the founder, Yusuf, and handed him to the police who subsequently killed him, they moved into the Bush and went out of hand.

Remember they were still listening to negotiations, even Obasanjo went to borno to try to negotiate with them.

Then Goodluck came to power and the political aspect of Boko Haram started. Foreigners were invited as boko haram/herdsmen to disrupt the system. Part of the reason Goodluck said his win was not worth anyone's blood was because he already had intelligence information about the plans. So APC elements had alot to do with the last uncontrollable stage of boko haram/fulani herdsmen. Their rise at the same time (before 2015 elections) was not a coincidence. All top intelligence folks in naija know that Elrufai brought some people in. The use of Kaduna state funds to compensate them was part of the ploy to calm them down because elections were done, Goodluck shocked them, handed over without a fight or even court challenge. Even buhari was speechless on the phone when he called to concede. His throat was dry.

The core center of attack is Kaduna state, becoming more wild than Borno. All neigbouring states to Kaduna are also now involved (Katsina, Niger, Plateau etc)

And Modu Sheriff and Baba Gana Kingibe are not in power but more influential than government appointees, all from Borno)

The same Buharia defeated Chad as a military ruler. The same nigerian army went to Liberia, Sierra Leone, to unknown lands and successfully returned peace. Why are they suddenly handicapped?

The same buhari is unwilling to remove a chief of army staff that is from borno, that has been catching and releasing boko haram and sacrificing soldiers in favor of boko haram.

Tolulope Oluwatoyin Sarah Arotile was so effective in foward clearing of herdsmen/bandits that they depended on her heavily.
