There is no man born of a woman who can stand election against Gen Buhari in the North as at today

Buhari is 1000% more popular than Kwankwaso even in Kano and i am sure he will not want to cross path with Baba Buhari.......infact the ONLY reason why he won his reelection after 8years out of power as a PDP candidate was because he campaigned for Buhari of CPC against Jonathan of PDP then in 2011

Where does people like him even want to start campaigning or to abuse Buhari from? Same thing that destroyed Jonathan and PDP up North

Kwankwaso started the style of printing PDP candidate's campaign posters with Buhari alongside in the North

People like Kwankwaso know too well where their popularity stops...............................any attempt to cross head with Buhari is an attempt at demystifying himself politically

Jonathan’s Senator, Rep, others defect to APC

The Senator and House of Representatives member representing
President Goodluck Jonathan constituency at the National Assembly, Senator Clever Marcus Ikisikpo and Hon Nadu Karibo have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Also, the Bayelsa State House of Assembly member representing Ogbia Constituency 1, Hon. Azibola Omekwe was among those that also defected to the APC.

The legislators and other members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that defected were led to the APC’s National Secretariat by the former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timpre Sylva.

Addressing journalists at the party’s Secretariat in Abuja, leader of the defectors. and Senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Ikisikpo said they believed that Bayelsa State would be better represented and developed under the APC platform.

While berating the PDP for under developing the state, he said that the party will work hard to win the governorship election in the state slated latter this year.

Senator Ikiskpo stated that sentiment had prevented them from moving to the APC before the elections were over, explaining that they would have moved earlier but didn’t want to be associated with the consequence that would have befallen Jonathan after the election.

He said: “We expressed our readiness today to work with the APC at the local, state and national levels. We are convinced that APC will best represent the future for Ogbia, for Bayelsa and for Nigeria. Together, we hereby join the movement for change in Nigeria.”

In his speech, the former Bayelsa State governor and leader of APC in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva said Baylsians have realised that they needed change and the time has come for the state to embrace change.

He regretted that the party worked hard in the just concluded election to deliver the state to the APC but PDP forces who were bent at rigging the election frustrated their efforts.

The former governor assured the party leaders that APC will clinch the governorship seat in the next election.

Receiving the defectors on behalf of the national leadership, former governor of Ekiti state and Deputy National Chairman South, Engr Segun Oni commended them for coming to the APC fold while charging them to work hard for the success of the party in the next governor ship election

PoliticsObasanjo Turns Down Pleas To Help Revive PDP by Sooroptimist1(op): 4:20pm On May 13, 2015
EXCLUSIVE: Ex-President, Obasanjo, turns down pleas to help revive PDP

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has rebuffed repeated pleas from concerned member of the Peoples Democratic Party to help revive the party following its defeat in the March 28 presidential election.

President Goodluck Jonathan, who flew the PDP flag in the March 28 election, lost to his All Progressives Congress challenger, Muhammadu Buhari, a former military head of state.

The party, which has ruled Nigeria since the return of democracy 16 years ago, also lost its majority status in the National Assembly just as it won a fewer number of states unlike in the past election.

With the defeat, the ruling party will now take on the opposition role as from May 29 when Mr. Jonathan hands over power to Mr. Buhari.
Since the defeat, the party’s senior members have been bickering with one another with some demanding the exit of its National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu and other officers, who are accused of working against the party during the election.

Concerned about the future of the party, some of its leaders have been reaching out to Mr. Obasanjo to return to the party and help build it ahead of future elections.

The former president had in February directed a fellow PDP member and ward leader to openly tear his party membership card at a forum in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

PREMIUM TIMES gathered that among those persuading him to return to lead the party were serving governors and federal lawmakers who believed the party should play viable opposition in the next dispensation.

Mr. Obasanjo’s close allies said the anxious party men have been pressuring the former leader, who was the first elected president on the party’s platform, by either visiting him or through telephone calls.

This newspaper learnt that the former president, who was also the PDP leader and Chairman of its Board of Trustees, has repeatedly rebuffed the request to return to the party.

Sources close to him said at some point he told those mounting pressure on him that rather than returning to the party he would encourage viable opposition from other standpoints.

“I’m done with party politics here on earth and in heaven. Period,” Mr. Obasanjo was overheard telling a PDP chieftain who telephoned him recently to raise the matter.

Mr. Obasanjo was also said to have told some people pressuring him that he could have considered returning to the party had his membership card not been publicly thorn before the general elections.

He was quoted as saying his membership card has been shredded and that “as it is now, a goat has eaten up the pieces”.
Mr. Obasanjo confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES in a telephone interview that he has been under pressure to return to the PDP but vowed not to do so.

“I’m not ready to discuss partisan politics because I’m done with it,” he said.

After a meeting with Mr. Jonathan sometime in February, the outgoing governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, had assured that the PDP would beg Mr. Obasanjo to return to the party.

“When a father is angry with his children, the children should beg him. Baba is more than a party man. He is an icon, a national symbol and a leader and inventor, a creator of all the institutions today in Nigeria from the president to the governors, who are his own sons, are all his creations.”

“And so when a father is angry with his children, we will only say we are sorry to him. But then, we cannot be renounced for whatever it is…….We might have made some mistakes, but abandoning us is not the solution because the country is first before anything else. So, he is our Baba even up to the president.”

But Mr. Obasanjo told PREMIUM TIMES he has foreclosed any possibility of returning to the PDP.

“I agree that Nigeria needs a strong and viable opposition and I will continue to encourage that,” the former President said. “I will continue to do that even without belonging to a political party. I have moved beyond party politics.”

APGA members may storm Otuoke over unpaid election largesse

Leaders and members of the All Progressive Grand Alliance across the country are set to embark on a protest to President Goodluck Jonathan’s hometown, Otuoke in Bayelsa State, over the refusal of the President’s aides to release election largesse, promised them before the last presidential poll, to them.

The National Organising Secretary of APGA, Dr. Gbenga Afeni, said this in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Monday.

Afeni said the party was promised some amount of money before agreeing to support Jonathan’s re-election, lamenting that the APGA members had yet to receive the promised fund since March 28, when the presidential election took place.

He alleged that the party was shortchanged the same way after supporting Jonathan during the 2011 presidential election, which he won.

The APGA chieftain said at least, 100 members from each state of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory were planning to march to Otuoke even after Jonathan’s exit from Aso Rock to register their displeasure with the breach of agreement by his aides and party leaders.

The statement read, “Arrangements have been concluded to march at least 100 party members from each state of the federation and the FCT to Otuoke, the hometown of President Gooluck Jonathan.

“The purpose of the march is to protest the breach of agreements in 2011 and 2015 general elections. In 2011, APGA supported Jonathan and the PDP to victory and the PDP promised to form a government of national unity inclusive of APGA but the B0T of the PDP, after the election, schemed out APGA from any political appointment.

“Also in 2015, we supported President Jonathan and PDP, but till date, those saddled with the responsibilities of liaising or reaching out to political parties have not shown up by way of appreciation to APGA.”

Afeni said APGA leaders had suffered much embarrassment as their followers were daily demanding their share of the election largesse from them.

Knowing fully that he and his sons have a case with EFCC which was used as a bargaining chip by President Jonathan to force him to drop his Presidential ambition

And Buhari have said that all those who are under investigation or prosecution by EFCC will not be shielded under any guise

It is thus not surprising that Gov Sule Lamido have decided to do an Usain Bolt before the expiration of his immunity-covered mandate yet Umaru Dikko experience comes to mind

“I Will Not Handover To My Successor On May 29″ – Gov. Lamido

The outgoing Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido has said he has no intention of staying behind in the state to hand over to his APC successor on May 29.

Speaking to his supporters during a reception put together for a youth who trekked for four days from Hadejia to the Government House in Dutse, about 170 kilometres, to meet the governor.

Lamido said he’s done his best for the state and delivered for his people and no longer owed anyone anything.

He said: “I will not hand over to my successor, because my predecessor did not hand over to me.

“I will go on leave on May 20 (nine days to the day of handover day). I will hand over to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and the SSG will hand over to the next administration, as it was done to me in 2007.

“Already, I have appointed the SSG to lead the transition committee and he will hand over necessary documents to the new elected governor. This is normal.

“We will organise a farewell programmes before that day. I will invite all my supporters in the state to see me off to the Dutse International Airport, where I will take my flight and allow the new administration to continue from where I stop.

“We have served our lovely state to the best of our capacity and ability, for eight years. Of course, we achieved a lot in terms developmental projects that have turned Jigawa into a proud state.

“We made our efforts to ensure that the PDP administration continued to lead Jigawa State but Allah rejected our proposal. So we have no option than to accept His will and support the new government because Jigawa is for all of us.”

How I Saved Buhari From Coup Plotters In 1984

Internationally acclaimed herbal practitioner, Mrs. Flora Ifenyichukwu Nkemakonam Ilonzo, has recalled how she ‘saved’ President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, from “a well planned coup” when he was military Head of State

Ilonzo said she was the savoiur of Buhari in 1984 in Enugu when a coup was planned to eliminate him.

She said she used her power to botch the plot.

Ilonzo is today the Director, Centre for Psychic and Healing Administration (CPHA), Awka.

“Buhari would have died in that
planned coup in Enugu while in office as a military Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces,” she claimed.

Ilonzo has practiced her trade in both Enugu and Awka for over 30 years, especially on herbal research, health education and in resolving human problems. She has
published books, among them, ‘Questions and Answers on Phystomedicine’, ‘Herbs and Your Health’ and ‘Food and your Health’.

Now that Buhari has been democratically elected to govern the country once again, Ilonzo has also re-surfaced to warn him to beware in his actions and inactions.

She warned Buhari to “be vigilant as ever at all times as he presides the affairs of the country” and congratulated him for winning the 2015 Presidential election.

“I warmly felicitate with and congratulate your Excellency on your well deserved victory at the Presidential election. I am thrilled by your emergence as the next civilian President of our dear country.

“Thirty-one years ago, when Your Excellency was the Military Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I foresaw and exposed a plot to assassinate you during an official visit to Anambra State.

“I immediately contacted the authorities for further action and for the postponement of your visit. At that time, General Y.Y. Kure was the General Officer Commanding the 82 Division, Nigerian Army, Enugu, while Emmanuel
Akojie was the Signal Brigade Commander. When your visit commenced at the appropriate time, Your Excellency arrived Enugu Airport and demanded my presence to appreciate my gesture. In your entourage were the former Chief Judge and Attorney General of the Federation, Justice Belgore, and the late Chike Ofordile, respectively.

“Today, as the President-elect, providence has given you yet another opportunity to complete the national assignment you started three decades ago. Your mandate is by no means a gift to be squandered by anyone who is not committed to national rebirth and reconstruction. I advise that you pick your team
for the best results irrespective of ethnic, religious and political cleavages.

“I pray that you replicate the legacy of the Late Singaporean leader Lee Kuan Yew in Nigeria to make this nation a prosperous, proud and respectable entity in the comity of nations; I urge you to restore discipline, morality, excellence in quality of goods and services offered to our nation for the upliftment of our patriotic spirit and common good.

“My word of caution is that you remain as vigilant as ever to keep sycophants at a safe distance. Our unity, security and the reduction of ethno –religious tension should occupy a premier position in your new administration.

Thanks and God bless,’’ Ilonzo said. Ilonzo, an old Anambra State Artist, was known then as Mrs. I. Eze, according to Ogbuefi Charles Onyechi, Amalunweze of Awka, a staunch member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Awka who revealed the woman to newsmen in Onitsha.

Onyechi also agreed that the President-elect would have been killed in Enugu when he was military Head of State but was saved by Mrs. Ilonzo.
Onyechi showed a book yet to be publicly presented containing the story of how the Igbo woman saved Buhari with vivid account and details.

The book tagged, ‘Peace…the legacy of an Icon of our time,’ captures the roles of Ilonzo, Anyafulugo Enugu-Ukwu na Umunri, Ozouwandu Aguleri Kingdom.
Hear her: “I was in a dream and saw the shooting to death of several Igbo leaders as they lined up to welcome the Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari in 1984.

The visit was still nine days away, so something must be done, and fast too, to forestall the calamity. As a civil servant, I could not approach the Governor directly, but I wrote a letter to the Governor through his Principal Secretary, Mrs. Ossai. I copied the same letter to the Commissioner of Police, the GOC, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander Signal Brigade in Enugu. I undertook to deliver personally that of the Governor, and the GOC 82 Division. In view of my vision, I urged them to defer the visit of the Head of state, emphasising that once I have such a revelation, it surely must take place.

“At the receipt of the Governor’s letter, the
Principal Secretary read it and instructed his staff to call
me back. In my presence he told them of the content of the letter and called me names, insinuating that I was one of those women hanging around army barracks running after soldiers. He tore the letter and warned his staff never to allow me inside his office again.

“By the time I got home, my staff who went to deliver copies of the letter had returned, followed by the GOC 82 Div Major General Y.Y Kure. He confirmed the receipt of my letter, and wanted to know what to do. I maintained what I said in the letter — that the visit must be postponed till the bad boys have been fished out and dealt with. Within thirty minutes, the Commissioner of
Police and Brigade Commander also arrived at my 22 Savage Crescent, GRA, Enugu residence, where they met the GOC.

“During my discussions with them, I asked to first of all take inventory of the armoury to determine what was stolen. I also informed them that the blank bullets used for ceremonial occasions had been replaced with live bullets, to enable the plotters kill all those they wanted to kill.

I also confirmed to them the place the stolen ammunition was hidden.

“They left and first of all visited the armoury where it was found that some ammunition were actually missing. They came back and sought my help to locate the missing ammunition. I agreed, but sent them back to collect some gunpowder and sand from the location of the armoury, while I went to collect leaves my grand father, Akunne Onyido, used to trace lost items. I
mixed the leaves and sand and used the gun powder to set it ablaze. When it has been burnt, I collected the ashes and gave them two portions, one to sprinkle around the barracks, I
told them that it would make those involved to confess,
which is better than my revealing their names. Before then, they had arrested
the Armourer, Lt. Anyaka. But I told them he was innocent.

“The following day they sprinkled the powder on the parade ground before the arrival of the soldiers for the
parade. Immediately after, one of the soldiers residing at the Thinkers Corner confessed that he was to kill the Head of State. He named some of his collaborators after which he shot himself. They called another parade to which I was invited. I was there disguised as a groundnut seller. After the GOC’s address, one of the plotters stood up and pointed out his accomplices. He took the GOC, the Signal Brigade Commander, Emmanuel Akoji, to the armoury to demonstrate how they entered the place. He rubbed his back on the wall and the doors opened.

Immediately the powder was rubbed on him and he could not come out the same way. He was arrested. I then took them to where the stolen ammunition were kept, there were all together nine bombs, two cartons of hand grenades, and 12 crates of ammunition, hidden in a bunker.

During the 2015 election campaigns,President Jonathan did his best to create a wedge and expand the frontiers of hatred between the South Easterners and Buhari in order to make a political capital out of it

The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu has said members of the party who have been plotting to remove him by stampede will fail.

Mu’azu, Newspot Nigeria learnt, said those behind the plot to sack him as the National Chairman of (PDP) were merely stirring the hornet’s nest which may ultimately break the ruling party into smithereens.

The PDP Chairman said this to a motely crowd of his supporters who met him at his residence in Abuja on a solidarity mission on the manner he was humiliated out of a meeting by the PDP governors in Abuja on Wednesday.

One of the PDP Chieftains who was with Mu’azu during the meeting confided in our correspondent that the Chairman was of the view that an attempt to stampede him out of office will raise bubbles and crises, which the party will find very insurmountable, a factor that may lead to its extinction.

Mu’Azu was quoted to have said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and other party elders know that the PDP dare not fester the crisis arising from the major defeat it suffered during the Presidential election, while adding to it by creating fresh leadership crisis in the party by his removal.

Mu’Azu, according to report was humiliated out of a meeting by the PDP Governors Forum which held last Wednesday in Abuja when he was bundled out of the meeting as he attempted to force himself in.

Meanwhile, Newspot learnt that the meeting by the PDP Governors was initiated by some top members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party who felt that Mu’Azu should go, while the entire Committee should equally be dissolved.

The NWC members who had equally mobilised President Goodluck Jonathan to endorse their desire for the sack of Mu’Azu raised allegations of high handedness, ineptitude and lack of maturity as a leader, as reasons they wanted him sacked.

The aggrieved NWC members are said to be eager to execute the plot for Mu’Azu’s ouster before May 29 hand over date, in order not to accord him the chance of consolidating and retaining himself in power after the exit of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The call on Jonathan for intervention on the plan to have the NWC reconstituted was predicated on the perceived reluctance of the National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’Azu to ensure that the NEC meeting holds, at least, after the just concluded general election for the PDP to take stock and chart a new way forward.

Hitherto, Mu’Azu was said to have adopted some divide and rule tactics of convening meetings with governors-elect, National Assembly members-elect and the state Chairmen of PDP at different times as a ploy for preventing a NEC meeting from holding.

The NWC members who wanted the entire exco of the party sacked, according to reports, had canvassed a view that a new NWC of the party must be put in place before the exit of President Jonathan on May 29 in order to prevent the party from dying completely thereafter.

They had argued that the PDP under its present leadership will never reposition the party for the challenges of regaining power within the next four years, on the basis that the Chairman and his cronies in the party had soiled their hands in monumental acts of corruption which will always prevent them from taking positive actions.

They alleged that the PDP National Chairman had compromised his status and hence, sabotaged the PDP in many ways during the Presidential Poll, even as he was accused of giving covert support to General Muhammadu Buhari.

The alleged high level of compromises by Mu’Azu, according to the aggrieved members, was the reason he failed to deliver his state, Bauchi to the PDP during the Presidential election, just as other top members of the NWC equally failed to lift the PDP in their states.

They alleged that Mu’Azu had long dug a grave for PDP when he started preventing internal democracy from holding during the party’s primaries, a process which they insist, led to the emergence of wrong party members as the PDP flag-bearers for the governorship and National Assembly polls in many states.

Mu’Azu, they said, also weakened the NWC of the PDP by failing to call for members’ meetings regularly as he was also alleged of running the affairs of the party from his private residence with little regards for the feelings of other members.

Mu’Azu, it was alleged, was also in the habit of keeping NWC members waiting each time they sought his attention on critical party issues at his private residence.

The aggrieved members sited instances when Mu’Azu kept some NWC members waiting in his house for more than 8 hours at different times in their attempt to have audience with him on party issues.

The PDP Chairman is also being accused of using his good office to covert wealth amid further allegations that he loves traveling out of Nigeria too often for issues never related to the interest of the PDP.

He was also accused of placing premium importance on women matters above party issues, with his office being literally turned into a melting pot for women of different backgrounds who swarm around him for different motives.

Senator-Elect Kashamu Attacks Jonathan’s Campaign Co-ordinator Over Election Slush Fund

The crises rocking the Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP took a new dimension on Tuesday as the senator-elect of Ogun East, Buruji Kashamu reportedly assaulted the State Presidential campaign Co-ordinator, Prince Segun Seriki over President Jonathan’s campaign funds.

It was gathered that Seriki who was at the Nicon Hilton Hotel in Abuja for a political meeting met with the Buruji at the entrance of the hotel and engaged him in a verbal altercation which led to Buruji assaulting the campaign coordinator.

It was further gathered that the face-off was connected with the N700 million campaign fund released to the committee headed by Seriki for the presidential election in the state.

Kashamu was in the company of the National Coordinator of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN, Ifeanyi Uba when the incident happened.

Seriki, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, confirmed the incident Thursday, saying it was embarrassing and unfortunate.

The Ijebu Igbo born politician explained that Kashamu nearly tore his cloth, if not for the quick intervention of the people around.

He added that the Senator-Elect was running after him in a very violent manner and shouting on top of the voice.

According to him, “his offence was that he refused to be tele-guided by Kashamu, especially, when the campaign fund was released and that he was answerable to former Governor,Otunba Gbenga Daniel instead of him”,Seriki said.

He revealed that a sum of N30 million was given to Kashamu and other candidates from the initial N200 million given to him, adding that, he later gave N200 million from N 500 million later given to the committee.
Seriki alleged that Kashamu threatened to kidnap him.

According to him, “It was a very embarrassing development, he attacked me at the Hilton Hotel yesternight and he nearly torn my cloth off, if not for the quick intervention of the people, because he was practically behaving like someone possesses.

“He was with Ifeanyi Uba when I met him, he was so violent and started running after me while I ran backward. My offence was that I was pro-OGD and didn’t give him much support during the election.

“When I was appointed as the campaign coordinator, I was in between a credible platform represented by Otunba Gbenga Daniel and a controversial platform represented by Buruji Kashamu, but I chose Daniel, because OGD has the widest mass appeal in Ogun State.

“Before my appointment, there was practically no poster or billboard of President Jonathan in the state and I erected about 100 billboards all over the state with the initial N200 million given to the committee while I bought 45 Sienna cars to aggrieved people who Kashamu was pushing out of the party, but Kashamu was requesting for part of the money,” he revealed.

Seriki who blamed Kashamu for the poor political outing of PDP at the last election in the state, explained that he (Kashamu) took over the party structure with ‘questionable judicial process and unilaterally wrote the name of the unpopular candidates and imposed them on the party.’

He lamented that Kashamu should be praising him, if he had good intentions about the election matter, but that he was after the fund for personal aggrandizement, alleging that Kashamu requested the money to be shared among few people.

When asked if he had reported the matter to the police, Seriki explained that he believed that the alleged threat by Kashamu holds no water, adding that, he doesn’t want his case ‘to accelerate the credibility problem hanging on Kashamu’s neck.’

When contacted, the media aide to the Senator-Elect, Austin Oniyokor said he was not with his boss to confirm the development but was quick to say that the allegation, to him, was a very funny one.

He agreed that there might have been some altercations because they belong to the same political party, he however said his boss wouldn’t have gone to the extent of physically assaulting the coordinator.

He however queried why Seriki refused to report such allegation with the security operatives.

“There might have been an issue, it might have led to altercations, but the allegation was very funny and very unfortunate.

“May be, there might have been altercation, but that Prince Buruji Kashamu attacked him personally was making a mountain out of molehill. It couldn’t have gotten to that stage, it is not possible, it is an unfounded claim. There is no way Prince Buruji would attack anybody.”

Gbawe:
You guys, perhaps out of joblessness, just love coming here to start nonsensical threads. First of all, how is age an impediment to doing this job when the main challenges will be intellectual and not physical? Secondly, in crooked, corrupt and materialistic Nigeria where many young folks grow up on a diet of "get rich quick by any means" which makes them ready to abuse whatever position they find themselves in for personal gains (eg Dimeji Bankole) then perhaps Buhari, as a president who cannot afford to fail, is right going for an old and wise head with unimpeachable integrity and a wealth of wisdom and experience that will be very useful in this position. Overall, I don't think you have a point at all and your sensationalist thread title is just attention-seeking because Buhari has not declared any war against the youths. Any Youth of proven integrity, talent and character will be given a chance in Buhari's government.
Please pay no heed to that guy

He is presently in Enschende Holland yet taunting and opening silly thread to disparage GMB

It is the same style being deployed by several of his ilks......They stay abroad but are opening secessionist propaganda about Nigeria

[s]Thaaaank you very much. What makes me happy the most is the reception and acceptance received from the umbrella camp. As for the crybabies, I can't help but sympathise with them. They expected this moniker to go on extinction or return to them but unfortunately for them, the moniker won't go awol and it will remain with the Umbrella. I've tasted both camps, the difference is clear!!!!!![/s]
Please go and read John 11 v 35 but dont forget to add OVER PROTECTIONISTA to the verse it will make more meaning
