What that means is that

If the electoral body cancels polling units whose total votes is more than the difference between two contestants such that the 2nd person( Ihedioha) mathematically has a chance to stage a comeback then elections would have to be reconducted in those places earlier cancelled but if the total cancelled votes is less than the difference between two leading candidates then there would be no need for a re-election



Now you know Okorocha is leading Ihedioha by about 72000 votes while the Total amount of Registered voters whose votes were cancelled is 114,000

Then the electoral act assumes that it will not be fair not to allow 114,000 individuals vote as those people might all vote for Ihedioha( Mathematical assumptions)

But assume the number of registered voters from the cancelled areas were less than 72000 even if its 71,999........in as much as if you add the whole 71,999 to ihedioha's score,he might still not overtake Okorocha THEN there would be no need for another election being conducted in those areas cancelled

Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has won in 43 out of the 44 local government areas of Kano state in the last Saturday’s governorship poll.

Ganduje who is the Deputy Governor of the state led his close rival, Mallam Salihu Sagir Takai of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a wide margin.

The result of Nasarawa local government area is still being awaited at the INEC headquarters in Kano.

Similarly, the candidates of the APC for the State House of Assembly seats won all the 40 constituency of the state. With this, the Kano House of Assembly will be populated by the APC and there would not be a minority leader.

Remember they just fought the battle of their lives yesterday and only won with 150000 votes compared to 1.2 million votes in 2011 which shows their popularity declining with 87%. Based on results announced from 55% of polling units across Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is leading Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by more than 80,000 votes. Figures obtained as at 9.30 p.m. (Nigerian time) revealed that Mr. Ambode had received 325,026 votes as opposed to 240, 467 votes for Mr. Agbaje

The APC and PDP are seen as the main rivals in the race for the Lagos State governorship. Both parties campaigned heavily over the last week in the state that was carried by the APC’s presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

Lagos State is Nigeria’s most populous city and has historically been the site of intense opposition politics.

The governorship race drew national and international attention a week ago following threatening comments by Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos warning some representatives of Igbo communities that they must support Mr. Ambode or face drowning in the lagoon. Mr. Akiolu’s incendiary comments were widely condemned on the social media as well as by numerous political groups.

It was gathered that Dariye, Useni, Tapgun and Cheto have been in secret meetings with top politicians across the 17 local government areas of the state to canvass votes for the APC candidates for the two elections Plateau State on Tuesday witnessed mass defection of prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

Among those who defected were a former Governor of Plateau State, Chief Joshua Dariye; Ambassador Fedelis Tapgun; former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, General Jeremiah Timbut Useni: Senator Victor Lar; and the state’s Deputy Governor, Ambassador Ignatius Longjan. Also, a former Minister and former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Dame Pauline Tallen; Engineer Jimmy Cheto; and Chief Jethro Akun have concluded plans to move to the APC ahead of Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections.

It was gathered that Dariye, Useni, Tapgun and Cheto have been in secret meetings with top politicians across the 17 local government areas of the state to canvass votes for the APC candidates for the two elections. Meanwhile, a group of supporters of the APC on the platform of Advocacy Campaign, in a press statement signed by Comrade Saddiq Agamah Sumbelep, said Dariye’s group has resolved to defect formally to the party on April 9, 2015.

Sumbelep disclosed that the defection to the APC is to bring government closer to the people at the grassroots. Sumbelep said the launching of the “Vote All Progressives Congress candidates across Plateau State Advocacy Campaign” is aimed at mobilizing voters in Plateau State to vote for the governorship and state Assembly candidates of the APC on April 11, 2015.

He added that Vice President-elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, will be the chief launcher of the VAPCAPSA campaign. The chairman of the event will be former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, with Hon. Ghali Umar Na’Abba, a former speaker House of Representatives, as the guest speaker.

Sumbelep decried the high level of unemployment, hooliganism, hunger, abduction, rape, religious intolerance, stealing and smuggling going in the country.

He congratulated President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, on his victory. He equally called on the citizens to replicate same in the governorship and state House of Assembly elections.
