FamilyRe: Living Together B4 Marriage by soreola(f): 11:46pm On Jun 15, 2010
If my boyfriend and I are living together what is the point of gettin married ?? So I can carry the Mrs title?? I believe that living together defys the marriage institution. I mean nowadays they have common law marriages which is when a couple lives together as though they are husband and wife with children included. I mean everday our morals are being challenged: one can now be involved in premarital sex, one can now live together b4 marriage, one can now divorce, it's now common for spouses to cheat on each other in fact baby #2 doesn't belong to hubby, what nexthuh

You should go with the idea of a long top with legging and maybe some colourful bangles, medium length earrings and some flashy pumps or you could go with flats for more comfort (or boots), Good luck

RomanceRe: Why Can't A Successful Black Woman Find A Man?' by soreola(f): 5:14pm On May 05, 2010
I think most successful black women cannot find a man not because they are usually searching for a black man but because they are successful,
I.e. they dont really need a man to do anything but satisfy their fleshly lust, most men wouldn't want to date a successful woman because they know they are not really needed, and most men want to feel needed and appreciated, this just me adding my 2 cents,
CareerRe: Back To Nigeria After Medical School? by soreola(f): 11:57pm On May 03, 2010
@OP, If u want to go back why not partner up with another nigerian doc lookin to go back and invest money into building a hospital and importing medical equipment from places like China and other medical equipment producing countries, this way u have the equipments u need to diagnose and treat ur patients, it may be hard at first but u could then expend and open lots of other branches and even attract investments from other elite people and even the gov't, just a suggestion,
FamilyRe: How Do You Cope With Loneliness? by soreola(f): 11:18pm On May 03, 2010
Since u pray I would guess u r christian (well, or muslim), And as one I don't think remarry should b an option (my personal opinion), and u kno what, I'm a lot younger but I know what u mean, I'm an introvert just like u an I'm startin to open up a bit, but since u have already been married and may have been expecting to have been raising a child why not adopt one, I would personally love to do that some day but you should do that, u would have something to do and wouldn't be lonely, I mean there are lots of children motherless children out there, u should also try to be involved in ur church or local community, Find out the things u like and as many people have said join a club or a group, God bless
FashionRe: Why Do Women Of African Descent Relax/perm Their Beautiful Hair by soreola(f): 5:02pm On May 03, 2010
@ OP u have to consider the fact that not everyone has the same hair texture, a natural for my friend would be soft but still afro like and a natural for me is tough to comb and very coarse,

I tried it and i had to wet my hair everytime i wanted to comb it, its not easy for everyone, Lauryn Hill's natural is probably different from a lot of africa women's natural hair,
FashionRe: Black Hair Does Grow. Let's Prove It! by soreola(f): 2:22pm On Apr 29, 2010
i personally just went from natural to relaxer for the second time, I found natural much more stressful cause the texture of my hair was not pleasant, Truth be told one can grow ur hair both ways, i.e. natural or relaxed, my hair was destroyed at the back from relaxing (the first time) and so i decided to cut it and go natural, now after about 5 years i went back to relaxing and the hair on the back of my hair is very ok, i have a stylist that is helping me through my journey to longer hair,
what the OP said is extremely true, i.e. taking care of ur relaxed hair and even natural hair is a LOT of work but once you find a routine that works its becomes easier,

For me HOT OIL TREATMENT, is when u oil ur case and put on a shower cap or if u do it b4 bed a night cap and leave it to stem up, or u could see under a dryer only for a little while

DEEP CONDITION- when you (after washing) put conditioner in ur hair and cover ur hair with a shower cap and either sit under a dryer or just leave for a while to stem up

AVOID HEAT!!- too much heat is no good for ur hair, i remember i used to use hot comb every time i washed my hair (when it was natural) now that my hair is relaxed i have made a rule for myself to only use a flatiron once a month, and now i air dry my hair and it doesn't even take that long

once more thing i wanna introduce, ( i dont kno if anyone already spoke about this)

PROTEIN TREATMENT- the best way i can describe it is that u could use Motion's CPR and same as before, wrap ur hair and see under a dryer, this should be done about every 2-3 weeks,

if anybody has questions feel free to ask, im sure there are others here who are also able to answer, ciao
HealthRe: Dagrin And The State Of Healthcare In Nigeria by soreola(f): 1:46pm On Apr 29, 2010
I believe that everything that happens happens for a reason. There are a few lessons we could learn from what happened. If he was really drunk we learn that nobody not even famous stars can escape death when they drink and drive. If his injuries were not that severe indeed, we learn that some serious work needs to be done with our health system in Nigeria, either way some work needs to be done. If the hospitals that i see in nija movies are really as things are in nija then work needs to be done. I mean those hospitals i see have no machinery!!!, How do you expect to monitor patients, testshuh, Nija needs to invest in machineries in ALL their hospitals, a few to each room (that is if they don't already), It should not only be teaching hospitals that have machineries,

About the LIfespan of an average Nigeria, i have seen stats that show that it's short but a few changes would elongate it a little. I say its going to take a joint effort both from the citizens and the government and even Nigerians abroad to make Nigeria a better place, But it is all easier said than done, Lets not let DaGrin's death be in Vain,
PoliticsRe: Petitioning the Government by soreola(op): 1:02am On Apr 23, 2010
Well then we need to do something about that, An I'm pretty sure that's gonna be challenging
PoliticsRe: Petitioning the Government by soreola(op): 12:42am On Apr 23, 2010
Well what I mean is something like the one in the U.S, anyways what I'm tryin to say is that the government should find a way of identifying real problem areas that are affecting everyday nigerians and take steps to solve or change the situations. Ex. Bad roads, people with no jobs, poverty, corruption etc,
PoliticsRe: Petitioning the Government by soreola(op): 12:21am On Apr 23, 2010
Dictionary def': an official enumeration of the population, with details as to age, sex, occupation, etc

a lot of the info (on the site below) are collected through censuses,
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ni.html

and one can compare this info to some developing or even developed countries
PoliticsRe: Petitioning the Government by soreola(op): 12:06am On Apr 23, 2010
Um it's something like that, I'm not too sure, But I know it a tool tht helps the government pinpoin the areas that need work in their society, It's also helps in collecting statistics such as the ones on the CIA page thing,
PoliticsRe: Petitioning the Government by soreola(op): 11:41pm On Apr 22, 2010
I don't think getting people should be a problem, Am not gonna lie I don't live in naija but I would not mind goin back and trying out this petition thing, Another thing I'm thinking about is that if we could somehow get the government to create a census just like they do in the states and Canada they the government would be able to get real information on areas they need to work on, And I have a feel they are tryin to fix things that THEY feel is a problem and not what the citizens think need change, I mean with the inflation rate things have gotten ridiculously expensive I.e the poor get poorer, I mean the developed nations are moving forward and if we don't do anything we are going to be lagging behind, Sometimes I wish I could do more
PoliticsRe: Petitioning the Government by soreola(op): 10:48pm On Apr 22, 2010
So the reason I asked this question is that here on nairaland I read a lot about things that the government should. Places where poverty is hitting baddly and things like that, I think that a good way would be to make petitions and this would Maybe draw the governments attention to area where some changes are required. I read anotha post here about the pres.Goodluck makin changes in terms of electricity so I figure that if he is willing to make changes in that area he should be open to changes in other areas as well, I'm not saying that the petition will reach ado rock for sure but there is no harm in trying, at least it may reach the governor, U guys should go to the "CIA World Factbook" and search Nigeria, I mean some of this stats (if they r true) made me wanna cry, so if u guys have any other suggestions as to what we can do please suggest them, thanks

~Lip gloss suits you tho. . i happen to think Lipgloss on Fuller lips is flattering especially if you dont want to draw attention to your lips w/ bold colours. . still people w/ fuller lips are rocking bold lippy/colours that suits their skin tones or in some cases, dont suit them at all!!

~Hitting google in a mo to get you info on Types of lippys you cud experiment w/ till you find what suits you. . . & recommended colours for your skin tone. . .
are you sure about the lipgloss cause i found out a while ago that lipgloss draws more attention to the lips and if one has fuller lips they should avoid lipgloss. I guess it cause it shiny and draws a lot of attention.
I guess if its not too much then it ok, im not sure sha,

FamilyRe: Why Do White People Divorce So Frequently And For Flimsy Reasons? by soreola(f): 3:01am On Feb 18, 2010
Divorce rates are higher among westerners becos the society accepts it. I mean people can divorce becos of "unreconciliable differences" this is an extreme popular reason that is often listed on divorce papers. Another reason as to why divorce rate is high is because women are no longer enticed by their role of being a 'help-meet' to their husbands. They are looking for independence while in a union and they have rebelled against the idea of them always being the one that is doin everything. One thing they are yet to realize is that in performing their role they hold a lot of power. A man cannot hold his own for long or even properly withoutthe help of a woman. And in terms of endurance there is especially a phase in marriages around the first ten year where the man and woman cannot seem to stand each other. This is the point where endurance and tolerance is required. Woman and man in a marriage have to learn to tolerate each others shortcomings. And ladies one big word of advice, DON'T ever try to change ur man, u are just calling on problems to come and pay you a long visit,

Adios!!!
FamilyRe: Still Bearing Your Maiden Name After Marriage? by soreola(f): 2:10am On Feb 18, 2010
I don't really understand why a woman wouldn't drop her maiden name I believe she said I do which means she is ready to commit to her husband no matter what. In the bible it says that men should leave their parents and cleave to their wife and this should be the same for women. Your identity (not ur personality) changes and so should your name. Bearing a name of mrs. Okereke and married to mr. Udechuku doesn't send a message of oneness that ought to be reflected in marriage.
FamilyRe: some by soreola(f): 5:28am On Feb 12, 2010
snowdrops:
From above, you have cruxifieed your husband and laid him bare to the hawks here to devour.
I dont think he should be all that bad if not you would not have married him only last year.
Also, it takes two to tangle; you cant be all an angel; look into yourself and see if there is any flaws.
Both of you are the best persons to solve your problems without the interferences of outsiders unless the marriage is heading for the rocks.
i also agree with the bolded sentence and would like to recommend a book (although its mainly for single women) i think it'll help you a lot in understanding ur role as a wife and that of your husbands as well:
