The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved the applicationby three political parties, theAction Congress of Nigeria (CAN), the All Nigeria Peoples’ Party (ANPP), and the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), to merge into one, and be known as the All Progressives Congress (APC). Thirteen years after theywere awarded Silver medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, members of Nigeria’s 4×4Men’s Relay Team had their medals upgraded to Gold on Wednesday at a ceremony inside the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The upgrade followed thedisqualification of the United States’ team that initially won the Gold based on drug-related issues.
