Blake lively...my favourite actress on "gossip girls".

They slept together on their first date...good for them cos Ryan felt like taking the relationship to the next level...it's just not advisable.
They slept together.

Please enlighten me, is "sleeping together" with someone and "having sex with someone" not two different kinds of activities?

ComputersThe Thing About Random Access Memory (RAM). by Sotenna(op): 6:14am On Nov 16, 2016
Everyone who has a computer or a phone at one point or the other must have heard about RAM.

In this post I'll be telling you what it is, and what it isn't.

There are a lot of confusion surrounding what the computer RAM actually does.

Firstly, let's know what a RAM actually is. It's a flash memory, a kind of temporary memory holding the data of whatever application or task that is currently running on your computer.

Okay, now that we know what it basically is let's get to know what it does and doesn't.

Firstly, contrary to what a lot of people think, more RAM size doesn't necessarily make your computer run FASTER, but it makes it run SMOOTHER. The speed at which your computer works depends on the processor speed of your computer's CPU. Your RAM comes in handy during multitasking activities on your computer.

The more the RAM size the more tasks your PC can hold in it's flash memory. For example, on a phone with 1 GB of RAM, if you open about six apps, and the flash memory is getting filled up, your phone will automatically start closing some of those apps leaving only the ones you're actively working on, but if that phone has let's say 2 GB of RAM, the number of processes it can handle at the same time increases (this is memory management).

The RAM exists so that your computer doesn’t have to go fetch items from your computer hard drive each time that item is called up for use.

N/B: A 32 bits computer (X86) can't efficiently use anything more than 2GB of RAM, but a 64 bits (X64) machine can effectively utilize any amount of RAM you feed it. So if you are using a 32 bits PC 2GB is all you can use, don’t go looking for more, it'll make no difference.

Op you are right. I agree with everything you said.

But you don't have to use your alternate moniker to quote and reply yourself. I understand the need to keep your thread which you painstakingly took time to write it's contents, active and high up on the board. But quoting yourself and replying yourself, is deceit. smiley
LOL! This guy.

I registered here 2007, this is my second post, I'm an active commenter, and viewer. But what I don't have is an alternate moniker. The guy that posted is a different person.

Christianity EtcRe: Religion, A Shackle On Nigerian Citizens. by Sotenna(op): 7:15am On Nov 13, 2016
chukxie:
You're right in a lot of ways about religion being the bane of Africans. Look the world and you'd be amazed to find that the poorest and least developed countries are the most religious ones. There's absolutely nothing wrong with going to a church, mosque or temple. What is wrong is sheepishly believing every word preached in such places of worship. It is God's desire that His children prosper and be in health. Isnt it? Why aren't Sub-Saharan countries and other places in the world littered with poor people enjoying the wishes of God for His children? It is because in these places, people have replaced hard work, economic planning and other pisitive developmental indices with prayer and fasting. Have you ever wondered why China, a-not-so-religious country is developing the way it's doing?
God, has given us a lot of power, knowledge and opportunities to show off what he has put in us. People in China as you mentioned, and some other positive minded regions have understood what needs to be done and have started doing it, when you ask them what they need more of they simply tell you they need more time in this life so as to achieve more.

But here, we just get a rope and bundle up and entangle ourselves in self pity and ignorance, allowing people to do our own thinking and live our own lives for us.
Christianity EtcReligion, A Shackle On Nigerian Citizens. by Sotenna(op): 6:23am On Nov 13, 2016
Ques. What's Holding Back The Nigerian Children?!

Ans. Third Party Religion!

I'm going to tell you this, when going to church or mosque please don't just go there with your Bible or Quran alone, please take your senses along too.

The reason why we are shackled today is because we believe a lot of things hook, line and sinker, once we're told it's coming from the good book. You see the Bible and the Quran has immense power, so they can do a lot of good or a lot of damage.

Some people have found this out, and have taken it upon themselves to dictate to you what your life should be like, what your perception of things around you should be, and what your relationship with others should be like.

If we all could take whatever we are told by these people with a pinch of salt, and therefore study these books too to verify what we are being told, a lot will be different today.

As at 1997, I knew a few of my age mates who were forbidden by their parents to watch TV, back then when I asked them, they told me it was a sin, that God hates it. When I asked who told them that, they told me it was their parents, who in turn received these doctrines from their pastors. Fast forward to 2005-2012, these kids are in school some studying computer science, some are in other fields of study and are using computers and smartphones to do their research. Please if a TV is a vice, what then shall we call a computer which does the function of TV and more?

In fact I can't fail to notice that today the parents of those kids, now adults get upset when their TVs, smartphones, and computers develop faults. Members of this particular church now watch what they call televised gospel messages right inside their churches. Who are they watching on the telly? The man who told them two decades ago that TV is equal to hell fire. You know maybe, just maybe the rumour I have heard about God striking off one of the 11 commandments he gave us that brought the number down to 10, may have been "Thou shall not watch the telly", right?

Some were told never to step a foot in the hospital, that the church and the man of God is all they need to get healed. Your kid gets sick, you send him to the church to be prayed for, but the pastor's kid gets sick and he sends him to the hospital with the money you contributed while he prays for his child's recovery at home. Have you seen the pastor's kid sick and in church before?

So, please use your head when you're being fed some things in church, or at the mosque where some old folks capitalize on the sexual urges of some myopic, pap-for-brain young men to make them believe that if they murder a certain number of their fellow humans whom their imams have branded infidels they'll be rewarded with 72 virgins in Valhalla.

Isn't it stupidity that you'd gather a certain amount of money you have, cross all the poor hungry folks around your neighbourhood who earnestly need your help just to dump the money in the tithe box in the Church. Next time you make the run look at the face of the people at the altar, you'll see how greedily they're looking at that box. You'll be very stupid to think that any of them is going into God's account number. I know some of you think God has an account with Zenith bank.

So, if we can look beyond what we see, and listen beyond what's being played we might just be lucky enough to break free from their chains.

This is Third Party religion, you ain't worshipping God, you're worshipping men, and you're wasting your limited time.

Passy089:
I caught my friend's babe cheating with another guy and she knew I saw her and she has been begging me not to talk. If I keep quiet now and My guy later finds out I knew about it I will become a bad friend...

If I talk it could be the end of a 4yrs old relationship!!!
I'm even scared the girl may set me up if I decide to talk.
guys Advice pls.
It's very appalling that most guys think they can get anywhere meaningful by letting a brother rot away in ignorance. If your advice here to the OP is to mind his business and you are a guy you should be very ashamed of yourself.

OP you'll be doing a great service to your friend whether he is close to you or not if you tell him what you found out.My Reasons:

1. You might save him from diseases.

2. You can open a door for a better person into his life.

3. You'll be responsible for his pains if tomorrow he finds out too late about it when he can no longer do anything about it.

He may or may not appreciate your telling him, but you'll rest easy knowing you've done your part as a friend.

If someone sees my girl cheating I pray he/she tells me. I'll be eternally grateful.

Those whose advice to the OP was to mind his business, people will mind their business when they see you in ignorance. How about that?!
PhonesRe: Weekend Talk: Whats The Worst Phone You’ve Ever Used? Lets Discuss by Sotenna(m): 8:07am On Nov 05, 2016
I've never cracked a screen since I started using touch devices.

The worst phone I ever used was Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos, "hanging" is a feature built into that phone. And the battery life is a miracle, it can go from 100% to 5% before you drop the charger you unplugged it from.

Best phone I ever used is my current Lumia 640 XL, even as I literally live on that phone, the battery takes me a full day and some. And most importantly, I've never seen it Hang. I upgraded it to Windows 10 mobile. It's been a good experience all the way, it's been a year and six months since I bought it.

Maaamaaa:
Thank you everybody for your sincere opinion. I believe I will move on with my child alone.

Please how do I overcome the shame at work because I can't quit now, I need the money.
Shame and stigmatization are among the things you'll pass through, but the important thing is that you've learnt your lessons for sure.

Now, wait and see...
That guy's turn is coming, his time to cry and beg is coming. No, he's not gonna go free. His decision to treat you the way he has done will back fire when he least expects it, and how he least expects it, where he least expects it to come from, and it's going to come down very swift and hard on him.

Right now hold yourself together, take care of the kid, and put a mighty distance between you and that guy. Pray, God will see you through.
HealthRe: Why Do Most Nigerian Men Develop A Pot Belly Stomach So Early? by Sotenna(m): 12:05am On Oct 20, 2016
Why won't it be so?

Poor life style even amongst the rich. That you have money doesn't necessarily mean that you live well.

The things we stuff down into our bellies are horrible. 90% of Nigerian population eat rice every morning and garri every night, or something equivalent in the nutritional table, and when we drink, it's gotta be beer which could be a rice or cassava product.

We live on this thing year in year out without even giving physical exercises any space in out timetable. So what else do you expect?

Glory12345:
Actually this is my first post on nairaland,I'm a comment reader and a post reader and I have observed how people do things here and I feel I should share my story, please don't criticise me or anything, I just need your help or advise, and please do read carefully to understand, and i am also sorry if i dont type this well,i'm not much of a writer. Thanks in advance

There's this guy I met at 3chub Ikeja,I actually went to ask if there was any standard rechargeable fan because i have been scammed alot by all these "fairly used" rechargeable fan,so i decided to buy a new one because they sell home appliances there, even though people say fairly used items are better which I chose to decline because this is 2016,and this buhari regime doesnt accomodate an extravagant spending.

I work in Lagos but I stay in mowe, and the electricity there isn't too good so that's why I'm getting the fan so even when the gen is off,i would have an alternative,so when I got to the store, the sales ambassadors offered me different brand rechargeable fan,but i later got a syinix rechargeable fan, because I was impressed with the number of months the warranty covers so I purchased it with my ATM card since I just came to inquire and not buy and I was cashless,I had to just use the POS *I'm only explaining all if these to give you a clearer understanding of the issue on floor*

After purchasing the fan, there was this guy that came to buy a gas cooker and we happened to meet and we both exchanged contacts with eachother and few months later we developed feelings and we had a relationship and we were doing the normal relationship vibe, until this week,he started acting up because I said no sex until marriage...he's a very nice person anyway,he helped me in so many ways(advices, financially, physically) but just because I said no sex until marriage,he's acting up already, although I have my reasons for abstaining until marriage anyway but my story is sad,and I don't know who to tell and I feel more comfortable telling people online because someone that knows me physically might not say the truth to me,because they don't want to hurt me,please I need matured comments even if it will hurt, just tell me

Although we aren't kids, but I'm just troubled because I love him a lot and I don't know what to do.

I'm a loner right now sad
Just imagine the heading... "Your Supermarket Boyfriend"

And you're telling us you love him?! The guts on some of these girls. I really had to go checkout your profile pic to understand the kinda b**ch that will call a guy *Supermarket boyfriend* and then claim to love him.

I believe something must have died in your brain.

Abagworo:
You don't sound convincing but I know that much of Owerri is under reconstruction hence flooding and traffic jam is expected for a while. Some mischievous people will snap pictures and post condemning Okorocha but those people should understand that nothing good comes easy. We experienced such in Port Harcourt in Stadium road, Elekahia road, Okporo road, Rumuola road, Iwofe road, Abuloma road and NTA road. Many people were out of business for 2 years.
As I don't sound convincing, you need to come to Imo state, to see things for yourself, I wonder how you'd be more privy to what's happening in Owerri more than a resident of Owerri.

I don't think there was ever a time senior citizens aged 60 and above protested in the roads of Portharcourt due to unpaid pensions.

Again, I remember very well that towards the end of 2013 Poly/FUTO road construction was completed. I was happy to see it done after so many years of neglect. I went for NYSC that same year, towards the end of my service year I came back to my school to get my transcript transferred to a school, when I got to that road I felt I was on the wrong road, because my last memory of it was that of a shiny brand new road, but what I met was now a gully instead of a road. Nov 2013 to Nov 2014 that road was no more. Amechi of Rivers never built such an epileptic structure.

So my guy you need to see for yourself.
PoliticsRe: Okorocha Mobbed By Crowd During Inspection In Imo State.. Photos by Sotenna(m):
I can see some people writing things they've no idea about here. If you are wondering what the devil looks like, look no farther, that's him right there in the picture wearing a black cap.

You guys look at that picture and interpret what you think is happening, I myself was there when he arrived unannounced.

People were booing at him, some raining curses, and some hailing him, well among those hailing him was a particular woman who caught his attention, and he reacted by giving her ₦100, 000 right there.

The man having a handshake with him and smiling came with him, so "na the same people".

I remember back in 2011 when he promised Imo citizens free kerosene, I came there with a can to fetch some, because Polytechnic Nekede was on strike and I had nothing doing at the time. After spending hours waiting for him to show up, he arrived, accompanied by 4 tankers of the supposed kerosene, and news crew from IBC (Orient FM), they all rolled in with their cameras.

He greeted, made a speech in front of the cameras, we hailed him, after that he stepped into his car and the convoy left in tow with 3 of the afore mentioned kerosene trucks, leaving only one at the stadium to serve the thick crowd that has gathered hoping to get some kerosene, when he left what happened was a struggle of survival of the fittest.

That was during his first tenure, and that was when I knew the kind of person we had as a governor.

So folks if those pictures were videos, you all would have been wiser about what happened.

As I type this, I'm stuck in a traffic jam, a traffic jam orchestrated by none other than our dear Owelle.
