Politics / Update: Remember Me, Pray For Me - Soulja-boi by Souljaboi1: 10:37pm On Jan 15, 2017 |
This post is an update to my post one year ago. Find the post here https://www.nairaland.com/2868107/remember-me-pray-me-soulja-boiI would advice you read that before this. Well, today is another Jan 15th, exactly a year after the post above. There has been a lot of happenings in the last 365 days, the situations surrounding this post isn't as dramatic as the first, but I feel I owe you an update.
A great part of the NE theatre is under the control of the Nigeria Armed Forces. There are still little areas needing clearing, but believe me, a great deal of work has been done and the dogs of hell are on the run. Their camps have been obliterated and their morale destroyed. They still try to regroup every so often, but they find the men of the Nigeria Armed Forces ready and up to the task.
We still have some bad elements within the ranks who are unhappy with the advances made, but they have no option but to reset their loyalties. Diversion of personnels funds still happens, but the magnitude and frequency is a far cry from what it used to be.
Pte. Ahmed, the son of the woman whom I bought bread from every morning is still in Borno but he is now a Lance Corporal. Adamu, my good friend and buddy has been transferred to the South South; he has also been promoted. 'Oga Sunday' who is more or less a senior brother is fully recovered and now a security detail to the GOC 7 Division. Sgt. 'Mama Ade' is now a Staff Sergeant, I heard her husband is trying to reconcile with her. WO. 'Baba Ola' has bought an SUV from his operation allowance, he was in our house over the weekend. WO. 'Baba Destiny' is still in Gwoza but his family can sleep better now that the area has been liberated.
The situation in the Barracks isn't very rosy, but its much better than it was 12 months ago. Families are being reunited and their welfare package being upgraded.
The oath to protect this country no matter the cost, is very much in place and we're not going to renegade. We are ready to give our lives, if the situation demands. This has nothing to do with the payment we receive, it is a sincere desire to protect motherland. No matter how you spin it, it takes gut to see death and still face it head on, smiling !
The afterlife is a place filled with uncertainties for the fallen, but certainly the tales of their exploits in this life should not be forgotten. They starved and kept vigil to protect this nation from those who would love to see her fail; for that, they deserve our prayers and good words.
A path outside the military isn't going to be half as adventurous, but it's enough consolation that I had done my part. I might not die while charging at the enemy nor while performing a HALO jump behind enemy lines; but whenever death comes, don't cry or wail.
Just Remember Me, Pray for Me.
I'm an ex-Soulja !

SalomonKane: Frankly, I'd tell you to focus more on building your life, your character and attitude and forget about marriage.
Marriage as you may see it is not for kids, and at 24, you're still young. The person you want to marry is 20. You guys are still too young. But not too young to be kwashing. @Mannylex, I feel you bro. Even that 2 years is a long time. Once yiu guys have a connection, you have a home and income to keep the family running, please get married. No matter how you view it, there would never be the 'perfect time'. You have to take the bull by the horns and make something of it. Trust me it won't be easy, but who gives us the assurance that it would get easier in the next 2 years. For those who believe in God, getting married is a sure assurance for us to earn HIS mercy as long as the intention is to ward off evil thoughts or illicit intercourse. If you are made a manager in a MNC, would you still consider yourself too young ? What you need is constant contact with more experienced folks, as they would direct you on how to manage your marital life and finances. Best wishes bro ! 2 Likes |

Flowerlady01: Marry your type... They will not hear. Igbo business men like this thing too much. They will go for women who are above them in education, intelligence, exposure and for some even looks. The only thing these men will have above their women is money. Why abeg? I am not undastanding the rationale behind this.

One day, a young soldier walked up to a well decorated senior officer in the army and asked him "Sir, what is the secret of your success in the army?" I want to be successful too. The officer looked at the young soldier steadily for about 3 minutes and gave him a life threatening order. He gave the young soldier a cup full of water and told him to walk round the training field five times. He clearly told him that his life depends on it. That if a drop of water fall from the cup, another soldier would shoot him on the head. Four soldiers were strategically positioned to shoot him down once a drop of water fall from the cup. Seeing how serious the whole thing turned out, he took the cup full of water and went out to complete his assignment. The young soldier carefully walked round the training field five full times without letting a drop fall from the cup. At the completion of the task, he returned the full cup back to the senior officer. When the man saw his commitment to preserve his life by not allowing a drop of water out of the cup, he asked him the following questions...
Did you see those half naked girls dancing at the mammy market?
The young soldier replied No
Did you see those soldiers playing football in the field?
The young soldier replied No
What about those fighting across the other side of the field?
The young soldier replied No
Then, the officer looked at him and told him that if you keep focus on your task, you will succeed and also preserve your life. At that point, the young soldier left happily.
Lesson:
1. If you must succeed in life, you must clearly write out the area or areas you need to succeed in.
2. You must clearly spell out your plan of action with all the process to achieving your goals.
3. A lot of distractions will come in many beautiful colours on your path to success. How you deal with them determine how you will end.
4. Success has a bitter price. You must pay it fully. There is no shortcut to success.
5. Whether you succeed or not, your life is at stake.
Finally, those who distract you are the same people who will celebrate your failure if you eventually fail.
Make your 2017 a fruitful one.
God will go before us, flooding our lives with His presence wisdom and power to Excel and achieve our goals. [/size]

honeychild:
What do women who do good deeds get? They get lots of adornment, some of which start from this life. The Muslim male is prohibited from wearing golden ornaments and silk wears, but the women are not. In fact, we are encouraged to get these for our women in this world. When we get to Paradise, the women would get much more ornament. The evidence for this is the Hadeeth reported by Imaam Tabarani Umm Salamah رضي الله عنها (the wife of the Prophet) narrates that she said to the Prophet Muhammad [ﷺ] “Oh Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ], are the women of this world superior or the hûrs (of Paradise)?”
He [ﷺ] replied, “The women of this world will have superiority over the hûrs (houris) just as the outer lining of a garment has superiority over the inner lining.”
Umm Salamah رضي الله عنها then asked, “Oh Messenger of Allaah [ﷺ], what is the reason for this?”
He [ﷺ] answered, “Because they performed Solaah (prayer), fasted, and worshipped [Allaah]. Allaah will put light on their faces and silk on their bodies. [The human women] will be fair in complexion and will wear green clothing and yellow jewelry. Their incense-burners will be made of pearls and their combs will be of gold. They will say, ‘We are the women who will stay forever and we will never die. We are the women who will always remain in comfort and we will never undergo difficulty. We are the women who will stay and we will never leave. Listen, we are happy women and we will never become sad. Glad tidings to those men for whom we are and who are for us.’”

You forgot the Hanafiyyah's position of 80+ days. Shaykh Sharafuddeen Raaji informed us that if it exceed 4 days, its goes beyond the limit of a travel. The truth is that most opinions have textual evidence backing their claims and arguing it could just lead to serious rancour, if not well managed. Based on my understanding of the different texts in the light of the Shaykh's explanation, I prefer the opinion of 4 days. And Allaah knows best. 1 Like |
