EducationRe: Uniport Students Protest: Live Feeds by soundtruth(m): 5:41pm On Oct 09, 2012
ItsModella: The students were paraded and beaten for close to 4 hours. I don't know how long it takes from Choba to Aluu, but I'm sure it's not a far distance. Where were some of the students all that while? They can't say for four hours they didn't hear that their fellow students were being beat up somewhere. Now the boys are dead and they're forming ALUTA four days after the incident.
truth be told that some of the people currently rioting and burning are not UNIPORT students but people brought in from other universities by the National Association of Nigerian Students.
EducationRe: Uniport Students Protest: Live Feeds by soundtruth(m): 5:34pm On Oct 09, 2012
Rumor not ascertained say they are burning some houses in the Aluu community, the VC of the university went to address the rioters and got pelted with water, its almost inevitable that the school would be closed down.

The majority of Uniport students are law abiding and believe in the ability of the state governor to bring to Justice all who have committed criminal acts.

The average Nigerian has no mind of his own and so Tee Mac should just have not bothered to waste his time raising such allegations as they would not believe him.

@ibime

there is this hush talk that those who actually beat those guys to death may be members of the rival gangs that they were betrayed to,

another guy a journalist is talking another thing about the 5th guy dying in the Agip area of PH but all are unsubstantiated stories - lets hope the government would come up with something tangible.

playmode: Here is what one journalist said on another blog:

As a journalist I went on an investigative journalism and my findings was that d guys are not thieves but cultist on a mission to kill the leader of their cult group. These guys are from rich homes, two of them move on jeeps. They were incensed by the overbearing attitude of their cult leader and decided to topple him. Not knowing that the place was in the radar by some resolute vigilante boys following persistent handset theft and rape, five of them embarked on a journey around 3am with their axe and knife on hand trying to gain entry into their targets abode. The target who is their cult leader was however sensitive enough to notice their presence and started screaming - 'thief, thief' which attracted the attention of the vigilante who rounded them off. One out of the five cult guys escaped albeit with a gunshot wound he sustained from the vigilante while trying to escape. It was this 5th cult guy that escaped but later died in Agip that narrated the ordeal before he died that gave us the tip that they were set up as thieves instead of an equally bad CULTIST. The things they claim was stolen was never found on them and perhaps some persons wanted them dead all their confessions were waved. I agree Cultism itself is a social problem, but to take a life on the guise of what he did not do is injustice. Perhaps it's God's way of giving the cult leader another chance to renounce an embrace God, who knows he would have been the one dead had he not employed the false accusation alarm. I think all relevant investigative agencies shld come into this matter especially why some group of persons should defy police order to hand over a criminal. Don't get me wrong, for attempting to take a soul they deserve to be paid in their coin but this should be done within the ambit of the law not unsubstantiated accusations and taken laws into our hand in the name of vigilante. One of d major militia groups in Rivers state started with a vigilante and we will not want a repetition of that. THANKS

Ok, bring your story- lets hear what you've got.

Sebi you're itching to tell it?

As per devil- if you don't see the devil in the men who murdered those boys, then your own devil is greater than theirs.
I am not itching to tell any story, the truth will come out, people are already seeing it.

tpia@:
I am not interested in hearing anything. Regardless what types of stories you and your cronies want to cook up.

Wont change the savagery of what happened.

Those boys are only in their 20s for crying out loud.

And no matter what their age was, NOTHING excuses the manner in which they were killed.
you can't eat with the devil and expect to grow fat.

Bliss4Lyfe: True, but justice must be done so those boys can rest. I still believe the penalty for murder in Nigeria is death. The law must run its full course. No one must be spared.

Justice for those boyz is why our hearts are still heavy. Aluu must suffer.
Aluu will not suffer, go and mark my words.

tpia@:
There is nothing that can justify that savagery.

Those boys are only in their 20s and there's no evidence they were raised as child soldiers to commit atrocities.

Their killers have more experience in whatever they were accused of.

Do you have a video of the boys being as savage as those vigilante men, or are you simply looking for a way to justify their actions.

Sorry, there's no way i can support this.

Conrad's heart of darkness comes to mind.
even if i showed you evidence you will not believe so keep on the path that you are, the truth is already out in the local environment, its you guys on the outside that are worrying due to lack of knowledge.

oyb: say no to cultism
This is now the current storyline, the boys were supposed to rob and rape as part of their initiation rites without being caught but where exposed by the same people that put them to the test. They actually robbed and raped and caught with stolen items but the worse part is that the people doing the beating and cudgeling are also cultists maybe not the same sect that this boys wanted to join.

The campus is empty and trust Nigerian Police to go on a massive arrest of innocent people which are already being released starting with their chiefs. The governor is a wise man, this boys are not as innocent as the online media is portraying them.

touch_me_hard: The students of Uniport should please not take laws into their hands because two wongs cannot make a right. Revenge on the community may still leave more students dead as casualties
The students of UNIPORT never intend to take the laws into their hands as they know the real situation of things.

God'swisest:
4 uniport student burn 2 dealth 4 stealing nawa oo sad news!
it is now said that those guys were cultists who went on a mission that did not go as planned, some suggest betrayal to rival cultists.

The university campus is deserted, many students travelled away for the cultural week, for now though some arrests are being made of people living near the troubled area.

Morale of the story: shun bad company.

but dem no dey hear word, in a time like this today of all days some student are still on the road coming back to their apartments and that is how police will carry them away that they follow for people wey murder those boys whereas the real killers may have since gone to other towns if not states.

queensmith: I hope they are found, every single one of them- all witnesses rounded up, a thorough investigation conducted and every single person with an accessory to the crime (those that gave them fuel) are thrown in prison or sentenced to death. One can only hope. . . .that is Nigeria for you.

The poor boys, my heart goes out to their family, losing your child this way cannot be easy. Apparently one of the boys parents is even very wealthy, so I don't believe the armed robbery story for one second. even if, its not in the hands of a murderous mob to deliver justice. . . .they didnt go to university or learn forensic investigation. How is lynching someone punishment for stealing a laptop? These people are blood thirsty, that is about it. I blame the government for breeding a community of frustrated and hungry people. People who don't value life at all. How is anybody going to live in this community if they are known to murder people?

This is a shame- a damn shame.
it is from you that we are hearing that the community murders people, many students and university staff stay in Aluu, some even have their own houses built in Aluu or are you saying those same university staff and students also murdered those boys?

It is being reported that the police have been conducting mass arrest of people living in and around the coca cola area along that Aluu road, many students who have rented apartments there have now relocated to stay with friends in other safer climes, this is the efficacy and efficiency of the Nigerian police and someone would tell me this country is not a jungle.
