Someone should ask the IG why the matter has not been charged to court?

Thought they said it was 13 people that were arrested, now we are hearing 4, what about the chief?

The underlying factor is lack of accountability and irresponsibility.

The case is in court so Justice would be served.

Rumor has it that the students that came to riot where from other universities led by NANS, this man now went to pally with the NANS people and deceived the VC to go and address the NANS rioters. When the guy is with the NANS he will be talking like them and when he goes to the VC he would be talking another thing. Eventually the VC got pelted with pure water when he came to address the NANS and of course it appears the man was still running mouth with the NANS guys. The SENATE of the school found the actions of that HOD as unbecoming of an academic and subsequently removed him from that office, the man will still be lecturing and teaching his students.

MORAL of the story: use wisdom in everything we do and remember that what goes round comes round

There is a lot more to all these which you guys have refused to listen, this guys removal was done the very next day is not like it happened yesterday or Friday.

It was quite a shock and embarrassment to see nairaland being singled out as social media, the moderators need to sit up but come again what if the runs they work? Anyway there should be some decorum in the way things are done not openly.

its not only the villagers that suffered but the normal university student who also lives in the neighboring communities, their parents too who will now have to get money to accommodate their longer stay in school.

The school authorities are not proactive but very old fashioned.

We should avoid suspicious movement, heard a tale of 2 boys who went to rescue their neighbor who was a girl from her boyfriends house by 3am in the morning because the boyfriend was beating her.

Students have been asked to vacate the hostels this night, its a very sad situation, they should have allowed the children pack in the morning but men the fear of the unknown is now driving everybody out.

Can only talk of the situation within the University of Port Harcourt and its environment, there is a massive case of internally displaced people - including student and staff moving from the Aluu area to other places and even into the university campus. It will be by tomorrow that there would be a great exodus of students out of the hostels. It is very serious and pathetic because it will set the place back - if the so called villagers decide to react this night, the first point of call is the student apartments on the outskirts of the village which are owned by non natives. The NANS people who came to up the ante will all go back to their universities that are in session so who is the looser now?

But thought the mother of one of the boys said he is a christian that attends Salvation Ministries, little by little the truth is coming out.

NTA Port Harcourt has just announced it and they say until normalcy resumes in the communities surrounding the university the institution will remain closed as security of the students lives cannot be guaranteed.

oh yes its raining tear gas but it appears the rioters are digging deep.

please don't lump me with the rioters, i take God beg you.

Guess i was too fast there, tear gas is now falling like rain everywhere, guess the party is over.

By the way i have not seen any uniform or plain clothes police men with tear gas cannisters; all of them are holding guns making me wonder how they intend to disperse the rioters without deaths being recorded.

The protest was never intended to be peaceful, as the night draws near and the rioters refuse to disperse there are bound to be heavy casualties.

Its been confirmed that the rioters have burned some houses in the community and rampaged on the roads destroying businesses.

They said school security had no powers off-campus.
Hence, d task was left to d police... D clueless police.
