Why would you comply in those areas but choose to disregard the directives of the Lagos State Government?

I love the way some northern leaders are passing a very strong message to the president. Ganduje has left Kano state to be following Tinubu around. Now, the governorship candidate of Katsina state has joined the train. I’m sure the governor of Katsina who anointed Umar Dikko Rada is behind this move. Kano and Katsina are very key states for APC and I’m sure the message can’t be ignored.

Tinubu was in Oyo and Ogun state today to meet party delegates and three incumbent governors (Lagos, Kano and Osun) and the candidate of APC in Katsina were with him. The former governors of Bornu and Nasarawa states have also been following him around. I may be wrong but I think Tinubu is the only aspirant in APC with incumbent governors and former governors on his campaign train. Says a lot about his popularity and acceptability.

Any right thinking Fulani person who is rational and not blinded by ethnic consideration should support a southern candidate from the SW the same way lots of us supported Buhari in 2015 when it was the turn of the north.

I’m a Yoruba man and I supported Buhari in 2011 when he contested against Jonathan on the platform of CPC. I supported him again in 2015 and 2019. So, was I emotional when I supported him for three consecutive election cycles despite the fact that he’s a Fulani man?

Some of us will always stand on the right track irrespective of ethnic affiliation. I supported Buhari when it was the turn of the north. As far as 2023 is concerned, I would support a southerner with the best chance of winning and I’m not apologetic about it.

This is why APC need a candidate that can perform very well in the south. SE will never vote for APC irrespective of who is the candidate. It will even get worse now that Peter Obi is on the ballot. So as it stand, APC dare not present any of the aspirants from the SE.

In the same vain, APC does not have any strong aspirant from the SS that can deliver the region. Amaechi can’t even win Rivers state not to talk of the entire SS. PDP, APC and LP will share votes from the region in that order irrespective of who is the candidate of APC.

This leaves us with the aspirants from SW. Tinubu and Osinbajo are very popular in the region. Any of them can deliver nothing less than 70% of the total vote cast in the SW next year and this is the key to victory for APC. In addition to winning the SW, any of the two can also win the NC easily.

APC will win the NW narrowly irrespective of who is the candidate because of the party structure and presidential backing. NE will be shared almost equally but PDP should have a slight victory.

At the end of the day, APC with Tinubu or Osinbajo will win SW and NC with high margins and win NW narrowly. Atiku will win SS and NE with a low margin. SE votes will be divided but LP may win narrowly with PDP coming second.

Overall SW is key to APC’s victory and that’s why the party must field either Tinubu or Osinbajo.

I’m a gainfully employed Federal civil servant. I’m serving Nigeria in my own little way and happy with the job I’m doing. If I ever decide to join active politics, be rest assured that I will have a very smooth sail into office.

To be honest, this is not the time to open old wound. We should put all our efforts towards building unity and consensus in the south instead of talking about the past.

1993 is gone, let’s face 2023. In the overall interest of the country, we must not allow Atiku take over from Buhari. The country won’t survive another 8 years under Northern Fulani rule.
