*INTRODUCING AGRICULTURAL LIME FOR THE CORRECTION OF ACIDIC SOIL*

*Introduction*

Over time, most soils have a tendency to become more acidic due to a variety of factors such as erosion, leaching and decomposition of organic matter.

This is an important concern for farmers everywhere because soils that become too acidic can have significant negative impacts on crop productivity.

The simple solution therefore to correct and reduce soil acidity is through the use of Agricultural lime.

*WHAT IS AGRICULTURAL LIME?*

Agricultural lime, is a soil conditioner made from crushed limestone .

Agricultural lime works by dissolving and releasing a base that lowers the acidity of the soil.

For crops growing in less-than-ideal acidity conditions, agricultural lime can boost a farmer’s profit potential by providing a number of benefits, including improving fertilizer efficiency by as much as 50 percent.

Liming soils to prevent excess soil acidity (where it limits yields) is a best management practice.

The proper use of lime is one of the most crucial components to a successful crop management program because excess acidity can severely limit both short-term and long-term soil productivity.

*BENEFITS OF USING AGRICULTURAL LIME*

1. Improving the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil.

2. Promoting better nitrogen fixation by legumes .

3. Increasing the availability of nutrients to plants.

4. Reducing toxicities in the soil.

5. Enhancing the effectiveness of some herbicides.

6. Supplying calcium, magnesium and other minerals to crops.

*PACKAGE* 25kg bag and 50kg bags.

wirinet:
I honestly believe integration is key, just as integration was key to the economic success of Europe. Europe's problem is attempting to change economic integration into political integration.

Yes we must fight or at least reduce corruption, but we must recognise that it is a difficult task. This is because of inherent landmines laid by the colonialists at independence. The elections and census issues we are grappling with today were foundation laid by the colonialists. They rig politicians who promote their interests and sabotage their country’s interest into power, and kill any renegade politician that attempt to go against their interest. They are responsible for perpetuating sit tight leaders for decades.

Under these conditions becoming a force to reckon with, economically and politically is very difficult

How can we be self sufficient, self reliant and a powerhouse, when the countries themselves were set up to depend on the colonialists. The countries were set up to provide raw materials for European industries, and provide a ready market for their finished goods. This is how the economies of colonial west and central Africa was set up.

South African and to some extent Ghana are not our brothers, they are separate people of separate tribes and language. Benin republic, Chad, Niger and Cameroon share the same people. It is difficult separating the eguns and Tapa of Benin Republic from their Yoruba brothers. Same with Fulanis in Nigeria from their Daura brothers. Ditto for Bakassi and adama adamawa. People are still accusing Atiku of being Cameroonian instead of Nigerian. The colonialists used language, currency and force to separate these people.

The fact is that all these countries are already a heavy burden on the Nigeria economy. We already subsidise their fuel, we provide them power, these countries in fact depends heavily on the Nigeria economy to survive. The worse is they all pose huge security risk, as Nigeria has been attacked through these country's borders one time or the other.
So it makes sense to strategically integrate them.
I don't total disagree with you, but at what cost do you intend to integrate those people, when Nigeria is currently not sustainable with lots of internal cracks.

The deed has been done by the colonialists as you mentioned, but do you know what it would cost to break down those borders now.

Look at USA for example, do you think they cannot integrate Mexico or is there no NAFTA even in North America, but look at how USA treats Canada and look at how it treats Mexico. Even Trump would prefer to total cut Mexico off. Are they not supposed to be brothers and helping each other!! But the cost of helping is a big burden to USA and you are saying Nigeria should follow this path at this point in time.

If look are looking at integration, I think you have to look inwards first. My first question to you is how far have we gone in integrating our Igbo brothers?
After that, do you remember the Southern Cameroon integration with Nigeria, what was the end of that?

If we can first grow ourselves and if there is a fair agreement within the current tribes, not exploiting one region to feed the other, I mean, grow to a level where we can afford to try and integrate those countries.
Unlike when we spent much of our resources to help South Africa out of its problems but we never really recover from that point up till today.
Foreign AffairsRe: Why France Kidnapped West Africa’s Eco Currency by spassion: 6:40am On Dec 29, 2019
wirinet:
As I said above, we have no choice but to do all within our power to integrate them. WE ARE SURROUNDED BY THEM

Besides, they are our fellow brothers and sisters that have divided us. Half of Benin Republic are Yorubas, they also have big fulani population. Same with Niger and Chad, they have huge fulani population. Cameroon too has huge igbo population, but French policy has been able to effectively isolate them from their igbo kith and kins in Nigeria. The same strategy adopted by Nigeria to isolate other not south east igbos from their main kith and kins.

Don't you think this is a function of the colonial structure and policies put in place by the colonialists?

Agreed, but you need certain criteria to be able to put your house in order, like infrastructure, practical education, good government structure, etc. All these things the colonialists made sure we lacked.

Brazil had different colonial experience. They actually colonised (killed the inhabitants and replaced them with their own people ), they only governed our people (indirectly). Few white men agreed to come and settle in West Africa.

So they governed indirectly by pitting us against each other, and creating an elitist class that they can govern us indirectly by.
I believe integrating is not the key for now.

First, we should fight corruption. Second, become a force to reckon with, economically and politically. Third, be self sufficient, self reliant and a powerhouse.

Unlike when we tried to help South Africa and Ghana, they came back throwing it to our face. Those french Africans would also do the same in the short or long run.

If we become a force to reckon with, like China and Brazil that cannot be left out of any political and economic decision, then we can look further into integration those junkyards like Benin, Niger and Cameroon, because at that point, we can prove to them that black people can also become something without France or any western poo. Just as the Chinese, Indonesians and Brazilians have proved themselves.

If all those can be achieved, we can call anybody's bluff.
Foreign AffairsRe: Why France Kidnapped West Africa’s Eco Currency by spassion: 4:59pm On Dec 28, 2019
wirinet:
Nigeria cannot afford to dump the idea of integrating the so called french west Africa, simply because we are completely surrounded by them. I feel very uncomfortable being surrounded by vassal states of France.

We have a huge advantage in that most of these countries share the same tribe with Nigeria, ie Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis, and even igbos. We can use tribal and cultural links to try and reach them. The advantage France has is language, the CFA currency, economic aid and military aid. If we had gotten our acts together, we would have challenged France in those items.
Integrating with people that surrendered their unborn generation to the french would not be best from my own perspective.

Nigeria's main problem is corruption.

If we can put our house in order, Nigeria can surpass France and even the so called selfish Britain, I classify them as parasites, just there to milk Africa.

Look at Brazil for example compared to Portugal. Brazil was also colonized by Portugal, but today, Brazil is a giant beside Portugal.

In conclusion, if corruption is taken out of Nigeria's politics even Britain would not dare us not to talk of France. Mind you, France is just a country with population of 67million while Nigeria is 200million.
Foreign AffairsRe: Why France Kidnapped West Africa’s Eco Currency by spassion: 4:33pm On Dec 28, 2019
Vortex369:
Nigeria can not adopt ECO as long as France mints and controls the Treasury.

If the Federal Government is Smart, they will allow us to collaborate with China and mint prototypical exacts of the ECO Currency and get into these Francophone slave colonies and exchange them with Euro and bring back Euro to build our country. We need to flood their system with excessive ECO until they get hyper-inflation and increase taxes to mop up excess liquidity while we enjoy.

This is what Iran and China does to countries who think they are smart. grin
Clever gal, I would call you.
Nigeria needs to dump the idea of integrating with ingrate so called french west Africans.
Those french speaking west Africans would never grown beyond France, we have seen how Brazil has bypassed Portugal and how Angola is doing better than Portugal.

Truth is that all African governments are extremely corrupt. All African wealth is being export to Western countries.

We are suffocating those infants..

I wish it's just targeted at ghana and south Africa.

Now what Benin and Niger has to do is to beg their government to come up with a better policy that will curb smuggling..
They cannot. They are French slaves.
Do you know why their currencies and economies, are what it is today?
Those countries previously colonized by France are still being colonized by them. Their leaders still have to take orders from their boss, France.

Buhari is right on this one. They are all helping colonial powers to cause more damage to Nigeria's economy.

Your friend does not have anything close to the experience required for the job. We only considered him to give him a chance.

Due to his impatience, he couldn't locate where our staff asked him to wait.

I think you should be asking him these questions not me.
If you or your friend is suspicious as you think, you can stick inside your house. And I think people sometimes don't appreciate the opportunity given to them.
