Lol,funny enough I can only relate to 2(transmission failure) Grew up with Honda,first car I learnt how to drive in was an 86 Accord,since then it’s been Honda all through, presently have 4 cars in my house all Hondas,my mum drives an 2010 Crv,sister drives a 2005 Accord i4,I drive a 2005 accord v6, and we have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline for poultry and farm work,you see that ball joint issue everyone is complaining about we’ve never had it and I used two models notorious for that issue 98 Accord baby boy and 03 civic,transmission failed on both cars tho because we were using oando atf for servicing. Personally I’d never touch a Toyota except maybe the (2020 Camry TRD),Toyota’s just lack features,reliable yes but no personality. My 2005 v6 popularly called EOD has more features and technology than 2007 to 2010 Camry(factory navigation,mad ass stereo,Gorgeous bodylines and that sweet sweet VTEC(accelerates like a dream). Fanboy aside, the issues you need to worry about with any Honda is the intolerance of abuse(particularly wrong fluids), power steering would always fail on higher mileage cars(200k and above) same as central locks on accords(usually the drivers door sensor),oil shorting with no leaks (ringing)rebuilt more engines than I care to count,transmission would always go kaput from 180k, a little longer if you used DW-1. Key is proper maintenance, toks always have lesser issues because they have been properly maintained, have a friend who bought a toks 2002 Accord just last year and it still drives like a dream even with its dreaded j30 v6 engine,would be a year in March and he hasn’t fixed anything just regular tri monthly oil changes. Pro Honda any day any time

Gm op,first thing would be what exactly are you using the car for? The crv has better ground clearance(you wouldn’t have to worry about bad roads) and would be much more available for you on your current budget,the matrix in comparism has better styling(the dash on that crv is just ),better fuel economy,cheaper parts,etc but would be more expensive because it’s a Toyota. Personally I’d pick anything Honda under 2010 as ergonomics is a huge deal for me in any car. Tbh the Crv is winner if you travel often

I stand to say without any restraining myself that my Boy Pumba is one of the best dogs Jos has ever produced and he's one of the best stud dogs any one could see around and he'd compare favourably with any Caucasian imports or locally bred! The fact that we do not know much about Pumba's mom Etana doesn't make Pumba less Caucasian rather it makes him non pedigree! I av pedigree imported males but for me none of them makes me tick like Pumba. Being pedigree or being imported (note not all imported are pedigree to me as long as u don't have ancestors of d dogs ur dog is non pedigree just like my Pumba) doesn't always translate into good dog.

Good morning nairalanders, straight to the point,I've been trying to get my mom a new car before her birthday in November,decided to get her a compact suv as she's not really a fan of big cars,thing is in brief conversations with her she successfully discredited all the options I had in mind, the Toyota matrix and the Pontiac vibe.Shes been driving an EOD for the last 3 years and she's hinted that she doesn't want another sedan. Now I'm conflicted between the 2007 RAV 4 and the 2007 Honda Cr-V. She's alone most of the time so I'd prefer something with little maintenance and a good fuel economy. Please make the decision-making process easier and feel free to suggest other cars you think would be a better choice budget is 1.5 to 2M based on a little research. Budget is a little flexible

this Honda arm pulling on the road issue is so overrated,maintenance is all that's required.I've owned a 2001 civic,my elder sister drives a 2001 Accord (baby boy or Hennessey) and my mum presently uses a 2006 accord (eod) and till date non has had the leg issue despite popular conception we've had all 3 since 2012,just ensure that the arms are changed every six months and welded when the change is done.I drive very roughly and frequently ply Farin gada (anyone in Jos can testify how bad the road's to and from the university are).Although all 3 have had their transmissions changed

Good day nairalanders, I have a hp 15notebook running windows 10 4gb ram 500gb hdd (nothing fancy, just a basic university student pc) that recently developed an annoying problem. The USB port on the right which I think is the 3.0 doesn't word as a mass media device it can only charge my phone, as for the two on the left side, 1 doesn't work at all while the other can transfer data to only mobile phones but won't charge the phone or transfer to an external hdd or flash drive. Tried updating the drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc but nothing works.
Basically the problem is: the USB port doesn't recognize other storage devices except from mobile phones. Please proffer a solution.
Ps. Can't format or reset the system, too much stuff inside

Me think, your problem is something that has to do with engine load here, vis-à-vis electrical.

You have changed all mechanical and some bit of electrical stuffs, and same results.



For that car, try replacing the camshaft sensor, if it has one on the cylinder head. Oooops, I forgot. Your car has an ignition system with plug wires. That means the camshaft sensor is in the distributor system. The sensor is part of that component. So, replacing it means, replacing the entire distributor. Doesn't cost much though.

Secondly, you might be having something to do with some of the wiring harnesses related to the ignition system, or the fuel system.

For the ignition system, try check the wires routing from the ECU to the crankshaft/camshaft sensors. Some of the wires in between the crankshaft pulley, may be lying on the engine block-hot surface. That would chamfer the signal wire there.

On the fuel side, check the fuel pump relay at the hood. A failing fuel pump relay, especially on Honda brands, can be frustrating.


***check all the wiring harnesses related to the fuel and ignition system.

When you have an intermittent short circuits like what you're experiencing in my view, it takes time to diagnosed.

Have u tried generating the fault code using a vehicle scanner?

Scanning gives a clearer picture of what to do not guessing as some mechanic tends to operate.

Get ur vehicle scanned by an experienced technician,who knows how to interprete and work on fault codes.

thanks sir, but I haven't found a competent mechanic with a scanner here in Jos, with the unrest I can't risk going to the one I use regularly.

Morning nairalanders, I drive a 97 Honda Accord (bulldog) that recently developed a problem that 5 different mechanics haven't been able to fix, the car drives perfectly but once the fuel drops to the 2nd line to reserve the car stops when you press the brakes, it's starts right back up and drives for a while without stopping then it stops, the lower the fuel, the more times it stops. Replaced fuel pumps, injectors, gearbox etc as per mechanic instructions but all to no avail. Last mechanic said just manage it like that but it's burning a huge hole in my pocket, as a student I use 5k to fill up for the week and top up on weekends when I go out at night total 7k,but with this issue I spend Close to 10k weekly. Pls help or mention someone who can help

Pedigree,Pedigree,pedigree...Probably the Most common word used in adverts,Facebook posts, Nairaland na im kill am finsh etc.While you may have a basic idea of the word("okay its a purebred dog from imported parents" your'e certainly not wrong but based on the Merriam Webster dictionary a pedigree is 'the Origin or history of something especially when its impressive' So much for that big word,huh?.Simply put,a pedigree in Animal Husbandry is Just a documented History of an animal from both parents used to illustrate superiority of Genes,Faults(Abi you think say pedigree na so so better thing! ,Notable Parents,etc.In Nigeria pedigree just seems like a legitimate excuse for breeders to charge exorbitant prices on pups,After an ordeal with a buyer this evening,Make i talk the whole story sha,For the purpose of this narrative lets use Mr X and Mr Y(No pun intended) to represent both Buyers.Mr X contacted me about 2 months ago,enquring about a pedigree Caucasian Ovcharka,Since hes was from Nairaland i didn't really take him serious(Last Last,Nairalanders no dey ever talk better price),Surprisingly we struck a deal and he paid 250k(Two Hundred And Fifty Thousand Naira Only) into my account before my madam littered.Fast Forwrd till today,Mr x Called me from my Interesting Mac 306 lecture(the only reason i goto school on the weekend Ps: My weekend Starts from Thursday)that he had arrived in Jos and he was coming to pick up his pup,I rushed down,Jos people una know say British America 4pm traffic no be here.Getting home he picked up one of my beautiful babies and i proceeded to drop him off at the night Bus park as he declined my offer of accomodation(If you paid that much for a pup i should atleast book you a room for the night,Abi?).At the bus park we met Mr Y who had also come to Waybill another pup,We got talking Nice dog,I want one, Story Story.Finally dropped Mr x off n came back home with Mr y,Brought out one of my unbooked males,He had a Good look and agreed to buy...initial offer 90k, after showing him the Studs pedigree, 120k, i brought mother out,140k last, Took him to PedigreeDatabase and he added 10k,Okay bros,Google the pups,and he Suddenly could spare an extra 10k,Long story short he paid 160k(155k honestly,He felt i had done him such a huge favor,He bought me a Few bottles of Heineken ) for a caucasian pup,Hah OP you sabi lie!! In this Nigeria!!The same dog wey I dey see 50k!! it might not be a big deal to you but fellow breeders hardly ever pay good money for pups especially locally bred males. The point being
1.Knowing your dogs pedigree Commands A higher price for your litter
2.Enables you to Stud match
3.Play god (determine Color,Temperament,litter size, etc)
4.Trace your dog back 8 generations.Yeah, 8!
5.Determine Purity
6.Set type.
Since Pedigrees are the rage,there are faked,Non-existent pedigrees sellers use in deceiving potential buyers,Please consider the following before you buy that "pedigree" dog

1.Because its pedigree doesn't mean the dog is or would be an excellent specimen
2. Beware of dogs listed under the pedigree database,its free,thus it can easily be manipulated
3. Forget those foreign strange names, E no follow
4. Google search the names,i assure you it show up,Not found doesn't mean its not pedigree,it just means the seller should provide you hard copy of the Ped certificate or Name the Original Breeder of both dogs,look the breeder up on facebook and confirm before you pay Shishi
Basically,Before you buy any dog,please contact a reputable breeder in that breed to confirm the authenticity of the pedigree we usually keep track of each others imports ,So that you dont come and dull Nairaland with "Rate my dog" and "how pure is my dog" posts...Bere Lowa

Not challenging you sir just felt people sbould have an idea about what you should have before you contact the breeder, this isn't the price listing only the breeder know how much he'll sell his pups.
