I support this guy to the very end, all those Africans living in the US should return home to develop their motherland.
Don't even annoy me. Come back and develop what? The Nigerians abroad are they the solution to Nigerias failed government? If the Nigerians abroad come back, what will change ? Tell me Please and elaborate with lucid facts.

The Nigerians at home haven't fixed the country , you are waiting on the ones abroad. Continue waiting. Talking without critical thinking. Analyze your thoughts thoroughly before you write and speak.

Someone said America needs "petrol" to survive , just incase you don't know America has lots of oil, infact they boast of the biggest oil reserve in the world , so wake up from that slumber of yours.

Look at India the dollar is $70 to 1 Indian rupee and they don't have oil. If we haven't realized that we allowed greedy and ruthless Nigerians to destroy our beloved country then we are looking in the direction of the truth. Our money has become worthless.

whoever you are I love your view about life....going to US to study is not a do or die affair, just give your best and pray to God to favour you...but life does not depend on your visa,it's always good to have a plan B incase there are disappointments. Going to the US does not determine if you will succeed or not.
Thanks for the contribution. My point exactly! I am sure a few people understands this. Always have a plan B. I wasn't successful abroad , I made my bread right here! I already have an MSc. I am going for the second.

That is the reason why you chose the school and that is the truth. US visa is not a right, you have to merit it to have it in as much as it doesn't guarantee entry. I would advice you defer your admission and write GRE and also apply to other better schools that would give you funding. You sound intelligent and I advice you do away with "it doesn't matter" attitude
Thanks for the reply but "it does matter attitude"? Everything matters until one stops breathing, if it didn't matter ,I wont be on this thread digging up useful & reasonable advice.

No,one said a visa is a right and I know it doesn't make you admissible on entry. Its also not a do or die affair for some people (me). A refusal only deters your course or plan but doesn't take it away.

Anyways,

I would agree to some extent you are correct, I chose it because it didn't require GRE doesn't mean I didn't apply to others that required a GRE score. I was awarded a $3000 scholarship ,well, I was grateful, I didn't expect it.

I thought Uni of Bridgeport is a better school than most? I took neither TOEFL nor IELTS nor GRE. However, I submitted my BSc. from a British University with second class upper honors to merit that scholarship I think.

Maybe I'll write the GRE then.

Well, now you are aware why you were denied, you would have clearly explained why you went to Iran, I knew how they searched and interrogated a guy because he was from Sudan. Those place are terrorist prone area and they want to know what you were there for.

Your delay in sending down your passport would raise dust. You have a chance to go state your case clearly and explain why you were not disposed to come for your visa on time. There is a guy who one PMed me and told me why he had Sudan visa on his passport was cos he was told by an agent that he needs to "disvirgin" his passport. So he went for Kenya and Sudan visa.

You would need to make sure you have all necessary documentation.
I did tell her why I went to Iran when she asked me then she said "I'm not denying you a visa neither am I issuing you one at the moment, I will let you know when I'm ready to issue it" then she put me under AP and called me 2 months later to pick the visa up.

Anyways, I will go there for the students visa and see what they'll tell me this time.

I lost track on your question probably because i was very busy with something else. Sorry about that.

If you were denied at first because you didn't submit your passport to the embassy, it means you snubbed them, secondly, you were denied.

I think you will have a lot of explanation to make this time but all in all, you will get your visa. Just pay attention to home ties.
That's ok. Thanks for your kind response.

Well, in the second interview for the visiting visa application, I explained to the lady what happened ,I guess she was too busy typing away either pretending to listen or actually listened. She still refused me after my wife's whereabouts and why she wasn't travelling with me became her point of concern.

My marriage and job I believe is enough, in retrospect across the years when it comes to home ties.

In the end I will go there and see what happens.

When you're placed on administrative processing, you won't get a notification that your visa has been approved, you will only get mail to visit embassy and there you'll get your decision.

Now that's not the case, you need to know the root of your denial as it wasn't due to the late submission of your passport. There is something wrong somewhere.

Since you have decided to go for a Masters program and you've been issued I-20, well just read through the thread to get the process. If you have any questions you can drop here, I am sure there are more gurus here that will help you.
Thank you for your sincere response.

However, I do believe it was because of the late submission. Now, events leading to being placed under admin processing was because I had an Iranian visa on my passport and also a Dubai residency visa as well which the lady was very concerned about what I went to Iran to do, in fact she didn't ask further questions about the application but seemed worried why I visited Iran.

In the end she did grant me the visa but I couldn't submit my passport at the time then did later and whom ever that was supposed to issue it refused to re-issue perhaps at this point , my reluctance to submit it casted doubt.

Second application which was the visiting visa was refused , even after I explained to the lady I was issued a visa previously but was refused when I submitted my passport and it was because I was working, then she asked "where is your wife" , I answered "at work" , she asked "why isn't she travelling with you" and I said to her "she isn't on leave until the end of the year but I am" and she refused me the visa, I haven't gone back there since then.

Although its not a Ferrari but still this men are wicked. This man called David Mark one day will experience the wrath of Gods anger. Nigeria is on the brink of Civil war, it's imminent that there will be huge chaos in this country the way things are going. My friend once said to me when I said Nigeria needs to be liberated, he asked "How will we do it?" And I said to him "When the oppressed and the pleased with a concience come together as 1". Its clearly obvious that these ppl don't care abt the youths. I am still weeping for the students that lost their lives in Nassarawa state uni. Students protesting peacfully were shot by the Nigerian Army and nothing was said or done. No one is safe anymore in this country if Soilders can shoot to kill unarmed citizens of this country.

Bottom line is they'd give you the Visa since you satisfied the CO during your interview@ the time (esp since they called you to drop your passport- it happened to someone I know).
Just be patient. Now the only ish, is when you travel, you may have some explaining to do with US immigration @ the Port of entry, since what you said you'd be going for has long passed. I just hope you are ready for that kinda probing.
Men bro,I got my passport back last week thrusday and these people refused me the visa on 214(b)basis after approving it o! They said todays decision cant be appealed (like I was going to appeal before)Smh. Telling me no social, economic and family ties outside the states.... Whats wrong with these people? My interview that was succesful.. What could have gone wrong? They called me to come and get the visa, I delayed in submitting my passport for one month , I was on a primary assignment in Niger delta.. Infact, I am going back there in 2 weeks I need to ask any CO I meet there why the visa was issued and later refused because I am startled and confused. I just need them to tell me why they will approve an aliens visa and later revoke it. They wanna chop my 100dols.. cheesy

adegokeadekola: Hi Everyone,

PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ MY STORY AND PLEASE HELP ME OUT

My name is Adegoke, I really need your help please.

2008, i had little problem in Dublin after completing my Diploma study there, had to come back to 9ja, getting to 9ja my uncle link me up with is friend who is an agent.

The agent promised to get me a girl that won us visa lottery and my uncle promised to be responsible for the bill. I gave the agent all my info with my copy of my passport photograph.

6 months later, the agent came over to our house and told us he got a girl that won a visa lottery and he talk the girl already and the girl has agreed to the plan that they have filled the immigration Visa and send it back to the Unites state.

My uncle didnt believe the agent, that he should have come over with the immigration Visa form to our house and we should have fill it together.

My people na real serious matter, the agent was mad and my uncle was mad as well, This where my problem start ooooo

2009, i got married and set up my own business with the help of my uncle, I went for an interview at US embassy 2009 (Abuja), the VO mainly asked me about my visit to Dublin and my school experience.

Dnt know what the VO entered into is computer, and ask me if have applied for immigration Visa before and if i have a second wife, I told him No, that im only marry to one and that have never apply for immigration Visa before

He asked me again and turn is computer to me and said is this not you, then i see my picture, and he refused the visa that I should go and clear things up in Lagos cos thats where the application is.

Told my Uncle and he call is so call agent friend and the agent said,it was the immigration Visa application form he filled in for me and the girl that won Visa lottery back in 2008.

I paid a lawyer to help me out, and he sent our wedding and child naming ceremony picture with our marriage certificate and our two child birth certificate with back up note that im married to one wife and that have never applied for any immigration Visa.

The Us embassy Abuja reply back to the lawyer that they received the pics and other document sent, that i should Reapply again cos that decision made by the consular at the time of application is not open to appeal.

I want to Re apply now, please do you guys think the letter sent to the embassy by the lawyer with our wedding picture, marriage certificate, our children birth certificate with the naming ceremony picture, have been clear me from this immigration visa stuff with the girl.

If we go for the interview should i still maintain that i dont know the girl and that have never apply for immigration Visa before.

Please help me, anyone here have similar story, what do you think i can do when we go for the interview...please help
Bro as long as its your picture and name that comes up there on their system there is no lie that would convince this people that you are genuinely seeking entry into the U.S and return home to your country.
However, you can say you knew this girl and both of you were married but divorced , you might need to tender divorce papers and all and contact the girl because they will contact her to be sure when they put you on admin processing, they will make sure you aren't trying to go and meet her over there. Men I dunno but dont just lie to them again. Wish you luck.

That being said, somebody answer my own question naow.
