A rare solar eclipse allowing a view of the Sun blocked by the Moon has taken place in some parts of Nigeria. The partial eclipse was also reported in other parts of Africa, including Kenya, as well as in eastern North America and southern Europe. However many observers complained that they were not able to observe the eclipse properly due to the glare from the sun and cloudy/rainy weather. Indeed this made some to be skeptical and doubt the reality of the occurrence of the natural phenomenon. As experts warned looking at and taking pictures of the sun directly can be dangerous to both the eye and the camera. The video below shows the eclipse through a SOLAR FILTER which is designed to reduce the dangerous glare which makes it difficult to look at or clearly photograph the sun. The video shows the sun as a bright ball and the moon as a dark shadow passing the sun. The blue sky is made a dark colour by the filter. A solar eclipse is an astronomical event that occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the earth and partially blocks the sun. This was nice but somehow doesnt live up to the legendary nature of skelewu ...the original with davido on a car captures the spirit of the song best... probably they should have done the same concept of several guys girls and cars in Nigeria. |

Contrary to what many think, a N200,000 brazilian weave is actually an investment that can save you money. So says this young lady. Guess we should start all start "investing" for the future as soon as possible https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoipUmVy58M |

It was interviews with Nigerian girls that recently removed their weaves. |
Yes and the weaves do damage as seen in the video. I think the weaving styles like that in your pic above will eventually come back because even white women look good in them. I mean isn't it ridiculous to see girls hitting their heads with the butt of the of hands as if their brains have blocked? But i'm not beefing; they do look good in them, i would just say that the stigma against the African weaving style - (the notion that it's only for school girls) should be removed. |
Speaking to 2 Nigerian women on the very controversial topic of their hair. Nairalanders what are your thoughts on this issue in this time of N200,000 brazilian/peruvian weaves that are changed every month or so? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYpSG_PjHFQ

You've never seen comedian Bovi this serious before as he took part in a recent celebrity basketball game sponsored by DSTV and others at Unilag. He was more his usual self after the game though. That's when he spoke about the bouncing sport and his love for it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIlQA8GYVE0

At a recent event in Lagos Nigerian Big Brother Star Beverly Osu literally "kicked it" with her friend on the red carpet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHdTCmhrCNUhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHdTCmhrCNU |

A celebrity all-star game between popular radio station, The Beat 99.9FM and Channel O, was held today at the UNILAG sport's centre auditorium both official partners of ‘The MultiChoice @ 20 All Stars Basketball Challenge’ .The rather short "celebrity" game saw the Channel O team in their black jerseys defeat the Beat 99.9FM team in red. Some members of the Channel O team included M.I, Sound Sultan, comedian Bovi (we've never seen him SO serious) and Ikechukwu . Members of the Beat 99.9FM were urged on by Darey and radio host Olisa to no avail. Others players included Tinsel stars; Gbenro Ajibade and Ghost from Show Dem Camp (SDC), Nanle, Jimmie and Douglas of Beat FM, Skales, Melvin BBA, Steve of JJC, DJ Caise, Lere Awokoya, Karma of Naija Ninja and Blackah of Naija Ninja.Praiz and Gideon Okeke This was followed by a game between two teams of professional basketballers drawn up from the Nigerian Basketball league. Also in attendance were DBanj, Tiwa Savage, Beverly Osu of big brother fame and many other celebrities. Basketball lovers and enthusiasts had a great time . Speaking about the music-themed sporting event, the music channel manager, Leslie Kasumba said “Channel O and MultiChoice are a family and this is a wonderful way to celebrate two decades of excellence in great entertainment, television and sports” The competition was staged to provide basketball followers, lovers, other stakeholders and sponsors with a weekend of fun-filled action by the leading players (top stars) from the DStv Premier Basketball League. As part of the All Stars Challenge, traditional side attractions such as the Slam Dunk and free throws werestaged to amplify the excitement for fans. Other proud sponsors include; Sports kit company ‘AND1’, Sports channel SuperSport and GOtv. Indeed DSTV and the other sponsors did a good job to promote the game of basketball today and we wish them all the best. But it was funny the way Bovi was so serious at least his team won. more pics here: http://afrospiral..com/
