Music/RadioRe: Nigerians And Their Irregular Tastes For Music. by Spirithusband: 12:11am On Nov 06, 2022
myked:
Lots of opinions and classifications here tbh, and a lot of what's been said holds true for Nigerians.

A lot of people have different reasons why they listen to music and the factors that influence their choice of music.

Some people completely go with trending music, good or poor lyrics.
A few others are interested in lyrics and song meanings.

And then there's us (the weirdos)... We usually seek out our own music.
I listen to albums as soon as I can when they are released and choose songs that I like before people start sharing their opinions (online and elsewhere) and trying to influence what I listen to.

We go out as well, I seek out songs from other countries as well (Kenyan, Egypt, Ethiopian, Spain, etc)... I find songs I love and enjoy singing along to.

Tiktokers should know the Nakupenda song by Jay Melody, thing is I already loved a song he wrote for Nandy, Kivuruge (You should check it out).

We don't care what's trending or not, we just listen to what we like. Old or new.

A few songs I sing along to even though they're not in my language (bonus tip - I don't dance):
N'iru N'iru - Igbo
Kivuruge - Kenyan
Tattoo - Latino
Tilobign - Ethiopian
Vete - Latino

Weird
A bit similar to me. Good music, for Me, beats time. So, I still listen to old songs and sing along - word for word. Also, these days, artists just release an ep with four tracks and say they have projects. I still prefer full length albums. So my playlist is a mixture of old and new, no matter the genre. As long as it's good music.
FamilyRe: The Aftermath Of DNA Test: My First Child Is Not Mine by Spirithusband: 9:11pm On Oct 26, 2022
Meektunz:
Been married for over 5 years now and ever since my wife gave birth to my first child, I've been suspecting that it's not my child due to no sense of resemblance.

I finally did a DNA test but unfortunately the result shows that I'm not the father of my first child. No doubt my wife loves me so much and honestly she has done a lot, sacrificed alot for me.

My conscience never allowed me to end the marriage because honestly she is a good wife one could ever ask for though she has her bad sides.

Since the result came out, I never told her or confronted her because I'm very very certain that once I confront her the marriage will end cos alot will happen but everyday once I see the boy and remember, I get so angry but after some time when we are all playing as a family I will forget.

I still do everything a father could do for his son. Honestly it's not easy to forget about everything.

What do you advise me to do guys?
Anything the truth can kill, deserves to die.

You can't live a life of sin and think God will grant you a long life.

After committing premarital sex and so many abominations, God has finally come to deliver his wrath upon him.

I love cramming the lyrics to songs. Rap songs especially. Also, I love writing songs. I love listening to songs a lot. I love watching nollywood movies. I also love reading the biographies of Musicians or Movie stars. - My love for these things border on the paranormal. Everyone around me is complaining.
