kYjelly2: Guys are funny men.
People are now saying Nigerians aren't striking because they trust buhari, like really
So you trust 350 naira to a dollar
Do you guys realize that it now takes N350,000 just to get a thousand dollars These are real issues that are affecting people.
These class of people would still trust buhari even if a dollar gets to N500. That would mean it would take N500,000 just to get a thousand dollars
Let that sink in What is the gain in being a zombie in these times Fighting for the government when at the end of the day, their policies may further impoverish you
Even if you think you are poor now, what happens when you can't even afford that garri anymore
About this issue of petrol price protest, we are not even sure if the subsidy has been removed or if its due to currency value.
If its subsidy and you are supporting no subsidy now, what would happen when the price of oil rises to $80 in the int market
Would you really be prepared to pay N250 per liter That is 5 liters for N1,250. 20 liters for your gen at N5,000.
Then would you now make a u-turn to support subsidy
If it's about currency value, then why is NNPC also selling at 145 when they should get the dollar at the official rate
If even the NNPC can't get the dollar at the official rate, then who is getting the dollar at the official rate? cause I know I'm not!!
If 90% of the country can't get the dollar at the official rate, then what is the point of the official rate
These are questions needing answers, scenarios mostly bad that need to be avoided. This is not the time to be a zombie just cause you think you're lifeisnt worth anything. You are worth something my dear zombie friends, so question your government for the benefit of your future and that of the country's future. |

Politics › ASUU Joins NLC Declares Nationwide Strike Over Fuel Price Hike by Splashme(op): 7:41am On May 18, 2016 |
Ademola Babalola in Ibadan National President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Biodun Ogunyemi has mobilized members of the union for strike and mass action commencing Wednesday to force the Federal Government to revert the pump price from N145 to N86.50. In a letter sent to members of the congress nationwide and read at the University of Ibadan Chapter where the Chairman, Dr Deji Omole mobilized members to get ready for mass resistance to what he called the obnoxious and callous policy of fuel price increment. According to Omole, the policy of subsidy removal was the most criminal ambush from the Mohammadu Buhari-led federal government to empower the rich and cripple the poor. The ASUU boss who said that the common denominator to all Nigerians is poverty added that the same APC government that failed to pay civil servants for months is now celebrating budget signing with the legalization of black market. Omole who noted that many state governors who now align with the removal of subsidy ran their states aground through wasteful spending added that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission should beam search lights on state governors. ASUU boss noted that the coup against the masses adding that since Nigeria runs motorized economy, Nigerians cannot be forced to carry the problems created by the rich and friends of government. ASUU president in the letter entitled “Increase in Pump price of Premium Motor Spirit to N145 perlitre: Proposal for Joint Action with NLC stated that ASUU members are called upon to according to our Union’s principles, fully respect Article 2 of the Constitution of ASUU; that our Union and members shall work for the protection and advancement of the socio-economic interests of the nation. Branch Chairpersons are to conduct emergency congress meetings on Tuesday 17 May 2016 to mobilise our members for the action commencing on Wednesday. All branches of ASUU nationwide are to comply” Ogunyemi anchored the position on “delayed, partially paid and in most cases unpaid salaries for a number of months by state, federal and local governments, disguised retrenchment of workers, especially by State Governments, in the name of verification exercise and endless hunt for ghost workers and heavy taxation”. http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/05/17/fuel-hike-ASUU-declares-nationwide-strike/ |

Politics › WAEC Offers Nigeria's Finance Minister Free Form To Re-write Mathematics by Splashme(op): 2:59pm On Feb 23, 2016 |
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has offered the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, free form to resit her mathematics exams after a major goof during budget defence at the National Assembly last week. During the defence, she alleged that one of the exams body in the country made N16 billion from sale of forms and other services, and got additional N6billion from the federal government bringing the total to ‘N24billion’ yet remitted only N2million to the federation account. Responding to the allegation, the registrar of WAEC Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, not only faulted the minister on the allegation, but also offered her chance to have another go in maths given the poor summation of the figures. Uwadiae said: “It’s not enough to go to the Senate and reel out figures. The minister should know, that what Nigerian students pay to sit for WAEC examinations is simply an operational/management cost, that covers registration, data keeping and management, printing of examination papers, logistics, marking of scripts and production of certificates. And all these cost about N16 billion Naira. “WAEC examination is not designed as a revenue generating source for the Federal Government. In fact governments in the past subsidized the examination fees, just to encourage education. The N6 billion she talked about is for payment of salaries and overheads for staff of the council. “However, we do not know the mathematical formula the Honourable Minister used, when she said the summation of N16 billion Naira and N6 billion Naira was N24 billion Naira. “I think somebody needs to resit her WAEC mathematics examination. And we in WAEC have offered to give her a free WAEC form in this respect.” http://nigeriantimes.ng/news/waec-offers-finance-minister-free-form-to-rewrite-mathematics/ |
