Politics › Obanikoro Challenges EFCC To Publish Directors Of Mcnamara And Stop Media Trial by Splashme(op): 1:05pm On Jan 30, 2016 |
Obanikoro to EFCC: Stop this media trial, publish names of the directors and signatories to the McNamara account The immediate past Minister of State, Foreign Affairs and a former Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has challenged controversial online platform, Sahara Reporters and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to sincerely publish the names of the Directors and signatories to the alleged Silva McNamara Limited account to the public instead of demonising and deceiving Nigerians with vague, contrived and distorted information. Obanikoro is appalled by the public political persecution embarked upon by these agencies noting that there is nowhere in the world where investigations are being conducted using the pages of the newspapers.
In a statement signed on Saturday by one of his Media Aide, Mr. Jonathan Eze, it queried the wisdom and logic of bandying figures and associating same with his sons who are thorough bred professionals in their own rights reminding them that the court of law is and remains the judicial institution for trying cases and not whipping sentiments in order to give the dog a bad name and hang it.
The statement opined that Sahara Reporters is propagating these lies and propaganda because of the legal cases against it by the former Minister for misleading the public and defaming his hard earned name and reputation having served the nation in various capacities with enviable untainted records of public service. It urged the EFCC to be straight and above board in their investigations and avoid speculations and conjectures that are infringing on the fundamental human rights of his sons. The statement reads in parts:" Associating my sons to the Sylva McNamara account that allegedly received funds from the office of the embattled National security Adviser is highly preposterous and unthinkable. "I am particularly amazed by the fact that trials and investigations are being done using the media unconventionally just to satisfy the cravings of political entities who are desperate to rub my hard earned reputation in the mud. " Since the invicinble Sahara Reporters whom I have legal cases against are at the forefront of misleading the public and defaming my person, perhaps rationalizing that I would withdraw pending suits against it, I am using this medium to challenge it and the EFCC to publish in good conscience the signatories and the names of the directors of the said company and to restate that I shall conclusively pursue this injustice and infringements to a logical end., " http://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2016/01/obanikoro-to-efcc-stop-this-media-trial.html?m=1 |

Opinedecandid: Haters what do you have to now say?
APC, stop flooding the media with lies, half-truths, falsehood, and negative publicity in the name of propaganda against Nigerians of other political parties.
All Nigerians must not be members of APC to be baptised into 'holiness' or 'sanctity'.
If a party is to promote truth and fairness, APC is far from being the party. Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio is so loved and celebrated by his Akwa Ibom people. And his people will not tolerate further casting of aspersions on his person.

Nonsense . . . . You guys succeeded in manipulating the Tribunal and Appeal court in your favour. Thank God for the Supreme court. I feel for those senators and Reps members whose judgments ended at court of appeal.
You and Amaechi should appeal to ICC if you like Amaechi's only achievement so far is to cancel a Maritime University located in the Niger Delta |
Politics › Re: Wike Celebrates His Supreme Court Victory (Photos) by Splashme: 6:46am On Jan 28, 2016 |
Marvin67: My thought exactly. There are many cases where the appeal court erred in judgement. The case of David Mark is one of them. The appeal court nulified the election simply because the resident officer mistakenly wrote 28th of March on the result sheet, rather than 29th (the actual day the result was announced)
Another case is the case of Uche Ekwunife where the appeal court nullified the election based on a pre election matter, which as we have seen in Benue and Taraba, doesn't concern the opponent, as only party members have the right to complain about the primaries of the party.
Also the case of the Rivers senators whose election were nullified because of card reader, as we have seen in Lagos and now Rivers, the card reader is just to supplement the manual register, as the electoral act is higher than INEC rules. On that basis, an election can't be nullified based on card reader.
Those judges have erred, but unfortunately the court of appeal is the last bus stop for those cases. Too bad |

Dele Momodu and Femi Falana are attention seekers but are failing to realize that Nigerians have become wiser - far wiser than the pre-election period. We have seen the difference and many are calling the 'change' a case of "falling from frying pan to fire"
To answer Mr Momodu, Jonathan is around and receiving various awards the world over for his leadership. On Wednesday this week, he will be granting a world press conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
Nigerians are far worse off now than we were during Jonathan's time and we are fast realizing that the much hyped Buhari is empty headed. Nigeria is fast collapsing under his watch. A friend just called me that a dollar sells for N320 today at Lagos Airport |
