@abujaniv thanks for answering my previous question but pls I want to know if it's true that if someone hasn't traveled out before, that one might be denied us student visa. i.e if one hold a 'virgin' passport, one might be denied. 'cos I keep hearing before you apply to us embassy, you must have traveling experience to other countries before

[quote author=abujaniv post=55038504]Hello spothot. Please rephrase this into an actual question.

My question is: is it true that the consulate might reject a BSc graduate going for a Diploma program in a completely different field instead of a Master's program in his former field or in his new field of study

Good day. I have been a secondary school teacher for a few years now even though I have a BSc degree in Engineering. However, I have been constantly troubled by the call of God upon my life and I have finally decided to yield to it. So, I have decided to enrol for a Diploma in theology program in a bible school in the u.s.a but while going through this thread, it seems the consulate may reject a BSc graduate going for a Diploma program objecting that I ought to be going for a Master's program.
Please I need some clarifications

Worst Part is they invited TVC Nigeria to cover this their show of fame

Because how else will TVC Know that this was going to happen. .It was planned so as to disgrace the Pastor but they don't know they are doing themselves

shameful
i'm pretty sure the anti-pastor elements invited the media just to "disgrace" the pastor and that really says a lot about who they really are. They've not only rubbished the C.A.C brand but also attacked the christian faith as it were. There are bound to be disagreements among people but for them to go to that extent really speak volumes of their true intentions but i know the gates of hell in whatever form will not prevail against the Church of Christ

It's quite unfortunate that many are just ignorantly blaming the UN as if they are the one that hold the naira to ransom. What they are simply saying is that legalizing abortion will boost the economy and its subsequent knock-on effect on the naira

Analytically, there is an element of truth in what the pastor is saying. Where do people learn these sexual positions if not from watching pornography which is sin in itself. So, let's face the facts, it is these sexual movies that teach all kinds of sexual perversions which ultimately make couples practise such acts

Nairaland / General / CBN Warns Banks Against Placing Unrealistic Targets On Marketers by spothot: 10:16am On Nov 20, 2014
The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has warned commercial banks operating in the country against placing unrealistic deposit targets on their marketers.
The apex bank gave the warning during the 2014 Bank Directors Association of Nigeria stakeholders’ forum held in Lagos.
The warning is as a result of the current practice by some financial institutions in the country whereby prospective employees are forced to meet unrealistic deposit target as a pre-requisite for employment or promotion.
The practice, according to the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele who was represented at the forum by Oneybuchi Kelvin of the Banking Supervision Department, goes against the grains of acceptable ethical conduct and corporate governance.
He told the gathering that the practice could induce negative moral implications.
According to him, forcing bank marketers, especially females to meet unrealistic deposit targets could influence their decision to engage in illegal and immoral acts.
To curtail this trend, he said: “The CBN is using moral suasion. We have been talking to banks about it. It is a continuous effort that we are making and we see the trend coming down. We cannot sanction the banks because it a completely business decision.
“But then we are telling banks that it is a wrong business decision. We have been speaking to them to change the strategy because it is affecting the banking culture and the landscape of the industry”
He added that the apex bank is working closely with the banks to reduce the amount of people that are compelled to resort to unethical means to meet unrealistic targets set by their banks.
He further added that “The Governor of the CBN is using the instrumentality of the bankers’ committee to talk to the management of banks to stem down on some of these policies. The intention is not to kill the marketing departments but to reduce the pressure by reducing the unrealistic targets that they place on marketers. The target should be realistic.”
Also speaking, the President of BDAN, Dr. Sonny Kuku urged the apex bank to censor the activities of commercial banks forcing their marketers to meet up with unrealistic targets.
“We cannot continue like this. It is against international best practice. Promotion or hiring should not be based on raising money to banks through any means. There has to be standard. That is the only way we can restore sanity to the system,” he said.

Religion / Re: Is It Okay For A Christian To Eat Ileya Meat? by spothot: 9:41pm On Oct 05, 2014
Apostle Paul in 1Cor 8:1-13 tackled this issue head on. According to him, he didn't see anything wrong in eating meat offered to idols since there is only one God through his son Jesus Christ and so idols are nothing: However, he warned well grounded christians like him to be careful and cautious as their actions might cause weaker christians to sin or think less of their christian faith.
For example, if you see your well-annointed and spirit-filled church Pastor in a beer parlour cooling down with some bottles of beer, you'll agree with me that you may want to begin to question the genuineness of his christian belief considering his status but meanwhile taking alcohol in itself does not necessarily amount to sin.
This is what Apostle Paul was trying to point out that though we have this freedom in Christ, we should nevertheless be careful and restrain ourselves less our weaker christian brothers and sisters think less of their faith and thereby commit sin through us.
Hence, from Apostle Paul explanation, it is quite clear that eating ileya meat MAY or MAY NOT be sin depending on the situation. In fact, in verse 13 of that chapter, Apostle paul summarised his own decision.

Family / Lagos State Gov’t Approves 6-month Maternity Leave, 10 Days For Fathers by spothot: 7:28pm On Jul 17, 2014
The Lagos State Government has extended maternity leave for female civil servants to 6 months and introduced a 10-day paternity leave for fathers.
The state head of service, Mrs Josephine Williams, speaking at a joint press conference at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa on Thursday, July 17, 2014 said the new leave regime was meant to reduce the negative implication of the extensive work life of parents, who are civil servants in the state.
“A female officer shall be entitled to twenty-four weeks maternity leave with full pay in case of her first two deliveries. The said leave shall commence, at least two weeks before the expected delivery date; a male officer, to who a new baby (or babies in case of multiple births) is born shall be entitled to 10 working days,” Williams said.
She added that subsequent deliveries by any employees would attract only 12 weeks maternity leave for the female officer, while the male officer would not be entitled to the 10-day leave.
The special adviser to the governor on public health, Dr. Yewande Adeshina, said the six-month leave will enable the nursing female public servants implement the recommended six months exclusive breast feeding.

She said, “At six months or 24 weeks, a baby is considered strong enough to be left in decent crèche for proper care having gone through close affection and nurturing by mother.”
