DownChelsea: When Ole took over at United (in his 1st half season), Mourinho had ridiculed the club, and the club at that time was almost in a relegation battle. Ole ended up taking the team to finish in 5th place(just one point off the top 4)
In the next season (Ole's 1st full season), he finished in the top 3 and had glimpse of semi-final football.
This is his 2nd full season, and eyes are already on the title.
These things take time. Ask Klopp!
The United board won't throw this golden opportunity at longevity and sustainability away. No way!

I don't know what democracy has done in this country since 1999
See as everywhere old
All the the great things this country has done were done in military era
No democratic government would have been able to construct the 3rd mainland bridge
Most of the federal universities that the military build were constructed by civil engineering companies. Now na bricklayers they build universities
It was the military that had the fore sight to move the capital to Abuja and funded it within a short period of time if it was in Democracy it will be vision 2090
Honestly since the military left Nigeria government have not undertaken any quality infrastructural project in this country
Even when they plan it . Corruption and sharing of money always make Dem deliver substandard Projects

Politics › Re: Britain Has No Right To Criticise The Nigeria She LOOTED For 70 Years by spy24(m): 7:07pm On Dec 23, 2020 |
rosskiti: Look at the criminal British looters calling Nigeria a ''failed state''.
The cheek of them.
The sheer audacity of them.
Are you aware that Nigeria did not have a single power plant at independence after 70 years of British rule?
Our first power plant was Kainji Dam, commissioned in 1964 by the Balewa administration.
Before independence, the British simply imported large industrial generators to power the GRAs where their officials lived.
The rest of Nigeria lived with candles and lanterns.
Our first university was commissioned in 1962.
University of Ibadan.
Today we have 200 universities, compared to ZERO at independence.
Literacy rate is 70% today compared to 5% at independence.
Were it not for independence, the overwhelming majority of you would be illiterate, barefoot village farmers or hunters of rabbits and cockroaches just like your grandparents were under colonialism.
At most you'd be a tailor, or shoemaker, or barber. Or palm wine tapper.
Certainly not one of the doctors, lawyers, engineers, software developers, industrialists, and bankers we have today, courtesy of independence.
The British colonialists invested next to nothing in public education.
So there was mass illiteracy across Nigeria in 1960.
Only when indigenous Nigerian rule began did literacy rates rise, as govt built THOUSANDS of public schools across the federation.
That is why your parents are educated, and were able to educate you.
It was because of INDEPENDENCE and indigenous rule.
We may have corruption today.
But the corruption we have today is CHILD'S PLAY compared to what went on during colonial rule.
Today, in a really bad year of corruption, we may lose 30% of our annual income to looters.
Under colonialism, we lost 95% of our annual income to British looters and embezzlers.
That was why at independence, after 70 years of British rule and export of Nigeria's resources, Nigeria was an undeveloped bush with naked, malnourished children walking the streets, no industries, no electricity, virtually no roads or infrastructure, and an illiterate population.
SO BRITAIN....do us all a favour, and..SHUT UP. Continue to live in the past Every single person and nation have every right to criticize Nigeria |

sojiboy: Long Journey and side Attractions to 2023
The journey to 2023 has commenced despite the fact that we still have more than 1100 days ahead of us. But just like Ekiti State Govenor, Dr Kayode Fayemi earlier prayed in one of his interviews on Channels TV, “may God keep us all till then”.
Different intrigues have started playing out ahead of 2023, starting from Arewa lecture in Kaduna state where Fayemi was a guest speaker, and in the just concluded NANS election where Fayemi’s name was mentioned more than the contestants, and then later to the recent interview on Channels TV.
These and many more of Fayemi's activities have generated so many opinions about the governor in both the Northern and Southern part of the country. And believe me, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
The question as to who qualifies for the number one office in the country. Section 131 of the 1999 constitution states that a person may be qualified for election of the office of the president if:
1. They are a citizen of Nigeria by birth; 2. They have attained the age of thirty five years; 3. They are a member of a political party and are sponsored by that political party; 4. They have been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.
From the foregoing, anybody who meets these conditions is a potential aspirant for the position of president. In terms of preparedness for the 2023 polls, both PDP and APC have been working around the word "Zoning", which both have said is not a written arrangement in their Constitutions but it must be respected. While the PDP is looking towards the north in desperation to get back the lost glory of their party, the APC is looking at the fairness of power rotation as Buhari, a Northerner, is the first president the party had produced. Majority of leaders of the party have however been clamouring for power to shift to the South.
South? Yes South! Which part of the South? Considering its cordial relationship with the North, population and political sagacity, Southwest is the most favourable geopolitical zone in the contest to come, little wonder then that some have started with South West Agenda.
South West Nigeria is one of the geopolitical zones of Nigeria, consisting of Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Oyo states. It is majorly a Yoruba speaking area, although there are different dialects even within the same state (Wikipedia). Of the Six states, Ogun state, on the one hand, has been majorly favoured having produced President, Vice President and Speaker of the House of Representatives while on the other hand, the best Ekiti has ever produced is the NGF Chairman in person of Dr Kayode Fayemi.
While Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s name is being peddled around for the 2023 polls by his followers, the Jagaban of Borgu has never publicly shown or denied interest in the said office. The mention of Fayemi has sent shivers into some camps as the Chairman of the Governors Forum keeps taking notable steps that have attracted both knocks and accolades. Notwithstanding, he is qualified for the position of president come 2023.
Nigeria being a very religious country has seen the Yoruba Christians sending signals for their turn for the top seat, which according to some analysts is the best for APC, as majority of the Northerners are Muslims. If any South Westerner is to be picked today, religion would be a major factor and a Christian will be most favourable. Asiwaju is a Muslim but he could be converted to Christianity overnight to make the ticket an easy goal for him. If Fayemi, a catholic eventually shows interest, he would enjoy the overwhelming support from the North because it will also pave way for a Muslim Vice President which the northerners are most likely going to favour.
Yesterday some notable Ekiti men took the very bold decision of launching South West Agenda, another moves that is worthy of applaud and as well has kept Ekiti in limelight of political discourse. While some sees it as an act of betrayal of their origin, some others see it as a high level of political consciousness in Ekiti.
For no reason will any Yoruba man support anything outside theirs which will make PDP a great loser; the two leading names in APC are from Ekiti and Lagos state (Southwest, Nigeria), whosoever the permutations favours as a Yoruba man gets my support. If today Kayode Fayemi declares to contest, I will never use left hand to describe my father's house. As an Ijero man, Fayemi will get my backing and so will it be for other Ekiti Indigenes who launched SWAGA yesterday. As the coast becomes clearer by the day, I pray that more Yoruba men indicate interest; this will make the other geopolitical zones know that we are very much ready for the contest and nobody from the zone has the exclusive incontestable right to the APC Presidential ticket.
Gabriel Adesoji. (AngelGabby) Writes from Ado-Ekiti If APC gives their ticket to Tinubu . APC Will lose He will not even win all the states in South West Forget vote from SS and SE many northern states would not vote for him |

alade112: The number of people that come into Lagos state everyday is about 7,000. Most are not coming to buy goods, but to make Lagos their new home.
According to senator Adeola, "the resources of Lagos state government cannot adequately cater for the population and the pressure on amenities arising out of the status of the state as an acknowledged mega city with a population of over 20 million Nigerians"
I think the Federal Government simply exploits and abandon lagos state.
Lagos state deserves special status, If lagos state can't get it. Then the federal government should create a Development commission for South West also. Nigerian revenues comes from two sources, the oil and non-oil revenue. South west Nigeria generates 80 to 90% of the Non oil revenue income. We also deserve something special. We are too civil to get what we want through violence, we all know what gave birth to NDDC and NEDC . The South west leaders should continue to push Lagos special Status they shouldn't give up, because the mass Migration to SW is alarming. The negative impacts of migration has outweighed the positive impact. Starting from Pressure on public services such as schools, housing and healthcare, Overcrowding and pollution , crime, Increased pressure on budget. You are right But no be special status go solve the problem of Lagos The federal government have simply refused to open other parts of this country leaving us with only two options Lagos or Abuja |
