I sincerely think Giroud is not a bad striker. A player who averages roughly 20 goals every season in all competitions cant be that bad. Though,he is obviously not one to be classified as a world class striker neither is he a bad striker. We should not allow the freaks of nature e.g messi and ronaldo to deceive us.

One of the major problem is the team not playing to girouds strength. Giroud is not a ball playing striker who can carry the ball from point A to point B successfully without losing the ball however he does well in and around the box. He will profit more from a more direct style of footie instead of tiki taka,pass! pass!.

I think arsenal actually needs a ball playing striker in the mode of aguero, Suarez,benzema and co. due to the way the team is structured to play as her first choice striker.

I also think Giroud is not bad to be a back up striker in case you guys need to mix things up a little. Sexy footie won't always get the needed points especially in the EPL and that's when you need a player like giroud. When you play long balls,more direct footie and crosses into the oppositions box,a player like giroud can be of great use.

Any average coach can win with top players provided he can handle their egos so it is not actually the yardstick for knowing a top coach. A top manager should be able to use a tactic that will bring the best out of his players but Wenger has failed in this. He keeps imitating Barca when we all know he doesn't have the players. Isn't that delusion? He also has problem with change; same tactics for years and against every team. This is the reason coaches like Fergie and Jose would always beat him regardless of the team they use. I am sure Jose would win him with this Aston Villa.

A top striker would, of course, improve his team just like every other team but it doesn't translate to winning the league. Not like he won anything when he had the best striker in epl, his team did not even make top 2.

It's the job of the manager to instill mental toughness and and motivation in his players. Put one of his players in, for instance, that Atletico team and watch him(player) play like he's possessed.
