Football is big business and winning the Premier League has shown the investors at Leicester City what they could become. It is also obvious that if care is not taken the team could be relegated at the end of the season with the way they have been playing. The only way was to sack the coach who hasn't managed to turn it around after 25 games. It looked cruel and bad but these types of actions come with the game. I know Ranieri will find new suitors soon! |
While one is 44 years old with 153 and has won the AFCON four times; the other is 21 years old will less than 40 caps and no winners’ medal country. It is as contrasting as it can be! Yet; they will share the same platform tomorrow having both partook of the trend and data defying logics for potential winner of this year’s competition. Neutrals and fans alike will relish the outcome whichever way it goes knowing that these two, by more than a yard, are not expected to be here at this moment and on this occasion! http://9jafans.com/2017/02/04/gabon-afcon-2017-finals-tale-two-underdogs/

A neutral evaluation of Arsenal in the past 12 seasons shows an ominous consistency in failure to hold on to strong positions and advantages. Just when you are beginning to sit pretty that all is finally well with them; they come up with a shocker that leaves you reeling. Latest case in sight – Watford; who had never won in the modern Premiership against Arsenal came to the Emirates and scored two goals in the first half of a game that should never have been allowed to slip away. But that was exactly what happened. They were left with no option than to chase the game in the second half against a resolute side who knew the value of what they had and hung on for dear lives to keep hold of it. One can be pointed at several other games in the current season say less of past era of disappointments and heartaches. The first game against Liverpool at the Emirates left no one in doubt that it will be ‘same as usual’ for Wenger and his men. That disgraceful entry into the 2017/2017 season forced Arsene to buy a quality player in Shkodran Mustafi. Otherwise, he would have kept faith with what he had! http://9jafans.com/2017/02/03/arsenal-know-magic-confirmation/

We haven't played to our best today but the guys need to hold on and make sure they do not lose this match. |
David Moyes was the coach I silently prayed that the board at Arsenal should consider when Arsene's time is up but Manchester United are always one step ahead. With his appointment, they have succeeded in achieving two things: 1. SAF legacy would continue to be built on; and 2. A serious minded, gentle but firm Manager who has vast EPL experience is on board. Great decision if I may say. |
Let them keep digging in until Spuds are knocked off their perch! |

I can only give a sigh of relief that we have not been disgraced. Football is such a 'crazy' game! |
No matter what, the NFF should always meet the minimum standards required from a Host Nation. This type of situation has never been the routine in the past and I wonder about what led to it this time around. |
This is the perfect meaning of the adage ''leaving it too late''. |
Simply put; Messi, Iniesta, Xavi and David Villa are in all in a different class! |
I have NEVER seen the kind of distance between two center halves like the one I am seeing today with Mertessacker and Vermaeleen! Sometimes I couldn't help but wonder about the so called genius of Arsene Wenger. I hope he surprises us in the second half |
Toast to a man sold out to God and an epitome of humility; happy birthday Sir. |
Barcelona's been primed to win! Their recovery after two losses to Madrid in four days would show if they have lost the hunger or if they are still the best team in the world! |
This was a classic 'play to your strength' tactic and it worked wonders for the Rosonerris. Wenger and his bunch of jokers called defenders should watch a video of this match everyday for the next three weeks to learn how to defend and take chances when opportunities arise. |
Short of words! |
Its a hard time to be a Gooner I must admit! |
What if Giroud had started the match? I don't understand this man called Wenger at all |
Just make it respectable; all I ask. ![]() |
I feel angry, disappointed and ashamed all at the same time with this kind of performance. |
In 30 minutes of CL football at home and no attempt at goal; pretty summed up Arsenal! |
Arsene is the most over rated coach out there! I am sure that from tonight, if he is humble enough, would start reconsidering his ways! |
This game might be the beginning of a new dawn or an end of an era for Arsene Wenger! |
I shouted at the very top of my voice running around my sitting room. After a little while I gave my wife a big hug and continued to thank GOD for the victory. It was exhilarating to say the least. |
When GOD says YES, nobody (NFF, CAF, Cote d'Ivoire, Mali, Burkina Faso etc) can say no! I feeeeeeeeel gooooooooooood................. |
All that's well ends well. GLORY be to GOD Almighty! |
Glory be to GOD Who alone is worthy of praise! |
How many chances does a team need to kill off a game? Ha, I am short of breath ...... |
How and why did we suddenly become disjointed? Thank God for the save from Enyeama |
It is well! |
You can't win Nigeria on a SUNDAY, MBA nu!!!!
That's was a timeless piece there bro! |
The two goals scored by Sunday Mba have been audacious to say the least. Great guy to have in the team and to think that he's a home based player is quite interesting. |
