Politics › Re: MURIC Opposes Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu’s Second Term Bid by sshalom(m): 6:51pm On Apr 25, 2022
It is always shameful reading the normal unpatriotic and inciting statements from this Professor who ought to know better. I guess he was not alive when Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu handed over to another Muslim in the person of his HE Raji Fashola. These types of opinion molders are part of the reasons why Nigeria is struggling to achieve her potential.
Travel › Re: Osummanu Fishing Estate In Anambra State (Pictures, Video) by sshalom(m): 3:52pm On Mar 04, 2022
This is an excellent resort. The layouts and natural outlook is the stuff that attracts tourists to destinations. Kudos to the promoters.

Celebrities › Re: David Hundeyin Considers Quitting Journalism, Says It's Not Lucrative by sshalom(m): 7:05pm On Feb 18, 2022
festacman:
David Hundeyin is the most unpredictable but effective investigative journalist in Nigeria today. He is ruthless, fearless, arrogant, annoying, highly cerebral and has scarily unperturbed disposition about people's opinions of his person or his works.

He is someone you'd find yourself loving, hating and ignoring in one short week depending on what issues he investigated and published. He is maverick. He is an enigma. He is a gadfly every society needs to be balanced.

He ain't leaving journalism because that's his life.
You write beautifully man. Kudos!
Business › Re: Elon Musk Is Now The Richest Person In The World by sshalom(m): 11:10pm On Jan 07, 2021
Dpharisee:
Elon Musk produces electric cars and high powered batteries called Tesla Power Wall with 20 years warranty.
The reality is that Elon Musk is making the oil which we are still spending billions to search for in the North to become useless.
Some gas and coal power plants in UK are on the verge of shutting down because many homes can now generate their own power and even sell excess back to the grid using Power Wall and solar.

Countries like UAE and Saudi Arabia seeing the 'danger' posed by Tesla are developing futuristic models to diversify from oil which may not rebound as demand remains low coupled with the impact of Covid19.

Nigeria which failed to plan is now in a tight corner, UK and France in 2019 have already declared a 10 year deadline to phase out all petrol and diesel cars. This was what happened to coal driven locomotives years back when oil and gas was discovered.

Nigeria seeing Elon Musk gradually taking down our sole source of revenue resorted to taking loans from China, IMF, world bank, Brazil and babiya Allahring cheesy for help from every corner of the earth in taking care of either insecurity or Covid19.

Now that we have over borrowed and the likelihood of repayment from oil is now slimmer and our creditors are no longer ready to grant us more loans we are resorting to stealing people's money that are dormant in the banks to pay civil servants salaries instead of looking for the owners of the deposits and dividends grin
You highlighted the danger we face as a Nation due to the poor leadership that has bedeviled us since the beginning. We can only look to China and perhaps India to sell our crude in the near future. Even at that, the chickens will come home to roost sooner than expected.

A great example of what Christianity is all about. Glory to GOD!
Politics › Re: Garba Shehu Blasts Enyinnaya Abaribe For Asking President Buhari To Resign by sshalom(m): 3:38pm On Jan 30, 2020
donogaga:
I think this is the most foolish response from a Presidential spokesman ever in the history of Nigeria, rather than address the element of Sen. Abaribe call for Buhari's resignation, he went ahead with calumny to blackmail the persona of Sen. Abaribe.

The primary responsibility of every responsible Govt is to protect the lives and properties of its citizen which Buhari has failed to do in all ramification. The spate of killings and attacks under Buhari is unprecedented. Sen. Abaribe's call is valid and it represents the opinion of all sensible Nigerians.

It is such a watery response coming from the presidential spokesman. And again, Abaribe's shortcomings wouldn't validate President Buhari's failures or incapacities if there are. It's quite appalling how Garba Shehu and Femi have left the real job of image management to stoop for the hatchet job of attacking perceived critics. What a shame.
This is one of the most educated responses I have read on Nairaland in a long while.

Mr. Shehu's response to all the Senator said about the shortcomings of the President in terms of managing our terrible security situation shows clearly why we are where we are as a Nation. Those in the corridors of power would rather die than speak the truth in order to satisfy their principals and stay relevant.
Politics › Re: Femi Adesina Reacts To Buhari's "Nigerian Youths Are Lazy, Uneducated" Comment by sshalom(m): 5:06pm On Apr 19, 2018
One of the worst things about this government is Femi Adesina's lack of candour in defending the unguarded statements of his principal. It is such a shame to see the transformation of otherwise brilliant people into fanatical sycophants once in the corridors of power.
Politics › Re: Dear Senator Tinubu, Buhari Has Thrashed Us All! - Abimbola Adelakun by sshalom(m): 4:03pm On Feb 22, 2018
I have never been left disappointed by Ms Adelakun's write ups. This one could be considered a bit 'sharp' depending on the side of the divide one sits on but the depth of the thoughts expressed are almost unquestionable.

Politics › Re: Time To Call Out Osinbajo By Yinka Odumakin by sshalom(m): 6:23pm On Feb 06, 2018
Powerful write up calling for an awakening of conscience and definition of principles. I am sure VP Osinbajo is making necessary arrangements to aid this government to commit to the security of this Nation and its people.
Politics › Re: "Samuel Ortom Is A Failed & Drowning Governor" - Police PRO by sshalom(m): 4:09pm On Feb 06, 2018
The Police PRO's use of language against a sitting Governor shows the lack of sensitivity and decorum pervading the whole of this APC government.

Politics › Re: Muric Decries Burning Of Six Fulanis In Gboko by sshalom(m): 5:56pm On Feb 02, 2018
There is almost no logic in terms of reasoning, sensitivity and decorum to the frequent (but unnecessary) statements from MURIC under the watch of this man. Pathetic!
Politics › Re: Herdsmen Killed Over 756 In Two Years Under Jonathan – Presidency by sshalom(m): 6:23pm On Jan 11, 2018
I am short of words regarding the lack of candour and arrogance of Femi Adesina. What has ex President Jonathan got to do with the mass murder being carried out almost three years since he left office?

NwaChibuzor802:
I don't know why the Lagos state government have refused to shut down that quilox night club of this boy. He has absolutely contributed nothing to the society asides immorality and social vices just like his other yoruba brother Tblac hoc who is also a _pornstar. I will be very happy if yoruba people can take entrepreneur mentorship from the likes of Orji Kalu, Cosmos maduka, Jim ovia, pascal dozie , Leo stan Eke, Tony Onyemaechi Elumelu and so many other great Igbo business men time will not permit me to mention.
And I guess you have never heard of Fola Adeola, Otunba Subomi Balogun, Mike Adenuga, Gbenga Oyebode, Tunde Folawiyo, Chief Razak Okoya, Chief Segun Oshunkeye, Chief Harry Akande, Late Tayo Aderinokun, Hassan Odukale, Victor and Funke Osibodu etc.

It is very parochial and hateful comments from people like you that makes me wonder about the future of this great country of ours. Please purge yourself and be properly guided.

Cheers!

Some hard truth from a courageous woman. A good government will take note, come clean and address sensitive issue such as this scarcity with the seriousness it deserves. A great government would have ensured that it never happened in the first place. Unfortunately; we have neither at the moment!
