Politics › Re: Who Is Nigeria's Best Minister Of Information Since 1999? by sshalom(m): 8:40pm On Mar 12, 2017
Professor Jerry Ghana and then Frank Nweke Jr. Those were the two people that really understood the context of that ministry. The late Amazon, Dora Akunyili did more at NAFDAC than at the MOI!
Christianity Etc › Re: Man Withdraws Support For Apostle Suleman After Alleged New Evidence Emerges by sshalom(m): 4:32pm On Mar 12, 2017
In Hebrews 12:2, the Holy Bible enjoins all Christians to look up to Jesus Who is indeed the Author and Finisher of our faith. Stories regarding pastors, their conducts and shortcomings should NEVER discourage anyone from worshiping GOD.

These Scriptures - 1 Peter 2:1-4; 2 Timothy 2:20 explain the reality of whatever people are experiencing particularly at this period.

The onus is on each individual to pray, study the Bible and be discerning in the spirit to separate from fake and original. Regarding this, you should be conscious of the kind of life the pastor lives. Does he preach only and never does what he says? If that's the case, the he is not a pastor but a charlatan.

Lastly, in Acts 1:1, it was clear what the order of things should be - Jesus began to do before he started to teach. Any man whose lifestyle varies from the Word of God, whether a pastor or just a floor member can not claim to be a Christian.

So watch out as the Bible says that 'by their fruits, we shall know them'.

All these revelations and counter accusations are confusing to say the least. This couple need to sit down away from public view and address their problems matured, sincerely and prayerfully. I feel sad for the young child that will definitely grow up to read all these stuff.

Car Talk › Re: Nigeria Customs Releases Update Of Grace Period For Auto Duty Payment by sshalom(m): 9:10pm On Mar 11, 2017
nurey:
Woe betide any custom officer dumb enough to stand in my way I will send him to his early grave grin

In Nigeria, things are done upside down. If I was the custom boss, I will
1. Setup an online system for Vin verification to make it easier for car owners to just input their car Vin which tell them whether their vehicle is in the system also which vehicle type the Vin is tied to incase of false/fake paper

2. Don't use a uniform payment method, rather a depreciation custom payment since the custom is responsible for allowing smuggled cars escape their radar. They should also pay for incompetence. So they collect registration data from frsc and bill custom duty on a depreciation basis. So if I registered a 2004 micra in 2010, I shouldn't pay same duty as someone who registered same 2004 micra in 2016.

3. Make a printable slip free of charge from Internet, so those who have valid documents when stopped by custom agbero can just flash their slip and the custom agbero just verify with car Vin to make checking easier and faster saves time and man hour. Those just paying will be issued the slip free along with their document.

4. Every vehicle imported will be given a certificate of custom clearance just like the Lagos State land use charge certificate, this certificate has security on it like the paper notes, this will make identifying fake custom documents easier.
Your submission apart from the opening statement smiley smiley shows clarity of mind, thoughtfulness and strategic thinking.

It is this type of thinking and approach that has made the western world what it is today. They think very deeply before they do things. They even simulate situations and create scenarios just to get it right. But here, the reverse is the case.

One more thing and as your contribution to the development of our nation; please crystallize these ideas and forward to the Ministry of Finance - I assure you someone will pick up on it.

neocortex:
The fact is sacrosanct in this case.
Apostle Suleman had an improper relationship(Adultery) with
a supposed stripper, got her pregnant and convinced her to
abort it by promising her marriage. Then he bailed after deceiving
her.

The girl is now back to settle the scores and the lying Apostle and his minions
are doing all they can to bury the story.

The color of a car doesn't determine its road worthiness.

Sports › It Is Time For Arsene Wenger To Leave Arsenal by sshalom(op): 7:08pm On Mar 08, 2017
It is unfortunate that Arsenal, the beloved club of many got hammered by Bayern Munich like a spineless boxer who went above his category to show his 'prowess'. Seventh consecutive season gone in the UEFA Champions League and it has always been the same result; regardless of the opposition. AC Milan and Monaco did it when all bets was on the Gunners to progress.

Pathetic is a mild word to describe the reality of Arsenal's CL campaigns. The man that claims to know has all the excuses in the game. Yesterday; he claimed that the referee killed the game and that left many wondering if it was the same match millions were watching.

The Board at the Emirates may not have the guts to sack their 'paddy' but the man himself must drop the baton and look for other races to run if that club is to make any progress soon!

Politics › Re: Fayose: I Don’t Need Police, DSS Protection Again by sshalom(m): 5:34pm On Mar 08, 2017
Gov. Fayose sometimes takes politics to the extreme. The Police and DSS are mandated by the law of Nigeria to provide security and protection to certain government functionaries and he is one of such. He should try as much as possible to keep them out of politics and the battle for party supremacy. It is tough but it is something he must do as the CEO of Ekiti State.

The love of a mother is incomparable to anything in the world. I can see how Mama is glowing with pride. The little child of yester years has grown to become someone of significance; the Vice President of a big country like Nigeria. It is joyful to behold.

And happy birthday to PYO on this auspicious occasion of his 60th birthday. I pray the God almighty will continue to endue him with His grace, wisdom, protection, understanding and spiritual foresight to continue his work and be successful as the number 2 man of our great nation. Many happy returns of the day.

All I can think of are: people, jobs, livelihood, families etc. The FGN/CBN/NCC should ensure that Etisalat doesn't die off. It will be a major economic and social disaster if that happens!
