Pls mamas, my baby's chest is congested. Like mucour is stucked in there, but the nose is dry. I've been using hot water with Silverbird (Eucalyptus oil) on his nose and chest, but it seems not resolving. Pls how do I handle this?

Aply mentholatum on d chest and lungs. Massage gently after each bath. D mucous wil disapear in no due time. Such cases are common with babies, also avoid keepin him close to fan. GOD BLESS UR LO.

Yes dear give ur baby more water no mater d age. It hapened 2 my lo dat was even on ebf den, he didn't pee atal 4 about 2 days, I was scared n took him 2 Hospital, Dr said its d weda dat I should start givin him water, which I did n he started peeing. So I advice u do So aswel.
All is well.

hello dear, sorry about your predicament- these things happen. Have you tried using the manual that came with ur pump? I got a breast pump from www.mifant.com and it was pretty straight forward to use and rather painless.

Now I dont know what type of pump you have but normally, to use an electric pump, you put the breast phalange that comes with the pump over your nipple then turn on the machine, and it would suck your milk into an attached container. Manual pumps also use a phalange, but you extract the milk by operating a squeeze mechanism or pulling a plunger with your hand.

It usually takes ten to 15 minutes to pump both breasts with a good electric pump and up to 45 minutes with a hand pump

D pump I gave is manual, hv tried it out many times But it didn't wok. Hav even dumped it. Besides my lo has refused 2 Even take anytin outside bm.

My lo is havin wot is called nlacha in ibo(dnt no d english name) bt d smptoms are
1. It coses d afected part of d skin 2 b fairer than d others. Usualy on d head, neck, anus and d private part.
2. On d hair, it coses d hair 2 peel off, there by leadin 2 bald hair if nt treated.
Pls mothers dat xperienced this should help me out wit a solution. I ve used shea butter but its not helpin out. Pls oo

I guess the clay like patch should be craddle cap.if yes all u need to do is apply shampoo 10 -15 min before bathing him n wash off gently.use comb to brush it out gently n keep repeating it till it goes away.

1) No. All formulas do not taste the same. Just the same way peak milk and carnation milk do not taste the same If he keeps refusing it, maybe you should try another brand. Milk is very vital for the first one year of a child's life so you need to find a brand he loves.

2) Piriton has to be one of the most abused drugs in nigeria. that said, at my end, Piriton is for allergies not cough and I personally won't give it to a child unless it's prescribed by a doctor or buy OTC unless I'm sure the child is suffering from an allergic reaction.

Since it's just a slight cough, why not give him vitamin C and lots of warm water ?

Just to add to what miraclemum and lovinam have said, I think timing is key. Give her the bottle when she's really hungry.

Start with a little quantity (10ml or 20ml) and if she finishes it, then breastfeed till she's full. Continue with this method by increasing the quantity of milk until she's drinking solely formula for a meal.

Using this method ensures you do not prepare too much milk that you eventually end up throwing away because she has refused to drink it.

If all the various suggestions fail, then maybe you need to try another formula brand. Maybe she might prefer another.

Regarding water, you can add very little Ribena to it if you are a fan of Ribena like me.

That said, have you fed her from a bottle before she clocked 4 months? If not, you have your work cut out as your child might take a while to get used to the teat since she's been used to a nip-ple, so you have to keep trying.

Am also havin ds same problem wit my lo. But if I may ask, doesn't al formula taste same? I ve tried cow n gate many times wit my lo, but he kips refusin it.
Again, pls my lo is hvin slight cough, can I gv him piriton syrup n wots d dosage?

Dr said its ntn 2 worry abt dat I should only increas my gvin him water dat it might b due to d dry weda. I ve bn forcin my ds 2 take water since ds issue started But he s a no water baby, bt I try my best 2 force him, no mater how little. Now he only pee Wen given water.
