I broke up with my ibo girlfriend after reading this thread, i realized its safer to stay close to your own, so going forward, its strictly yoruba. There is so much bad belle it makes me wonder if we have a palestinian/israeli situation vis a vis ibo/yoruba, No she ain't the love of my life, it was in the early stage. |
yeah - that was bad |
tombola:Are you kidding me tombola? Do you have the basic understanding of the english language? Because if you do, i expect from you the exact opposite of what you wrote in response to kobo. |
davidylan:Thanks man! i visit here a lot because i like reading posts from smart people like Davidylan, Debosky , kobo, smthing and some others. And at the risk of joining issues with that thing calling himself Tayo-D. He should know that it's not all about the intent , rather the approach. He should learn that you can still bring notice to peoples mistake and still get a thank you response from the other party instead of trying to show how good he was when he was only being a 33 yr old brat, i couldn't believe his age after checking out his profile , he had been acting and talking like a teenager. Someone (Davidylan) with a better and wider grasp of the english language is advising you to broaden your horizon. |
@Tayo-D I knew you were stupid, i just didn't realize how much. Before you accuse me of seeking attention, did you notice how long i have been on NL and how many posts i have? 22- that tells a lot about someone seeking attention- does it not?. I come on here mostly to read intelligent debate and exchanges. But i have issues with retards like you that make a profession of putting other people down. Clueless slowpoke talking about having a life. You have none!, lol |
joxiri:Thanks Joxiri for the nice response to Tayo D. Someone should tell the guy to get off his high horse and like someone rightly pointed out- this is more of a Nigerian thing ,always wanting to speak better english than the English and we can see where that has taken us. yoruba, ibo and hausa languages have been so bastardized, we cant speak our indigenous languages very well neither will we be absolute Masters in the art of speaking a foreign language no matter your level of grammatical construct Mr Tayo D. The poster was apparently in a relaxed mode and just expressing herself and you on the other hand were busy picking at whatever you can pick at and you even look idiotic at some point because you were trying to correct things she rightly said which are mostly common slangs. I have had the privilege of being taught by some of the smartest professors in the field of experimental mechanics and you know what Mr Tayo D? these guys are mostly Asians and Indians and their command of the English Language according to you will be appalling, these are guys that are being revered here in the U.S because of their contributions to their research field. Pls. go get a head, dumbass! |
rockhaven:I don't know if you are joking or not, but if you actually want to spend 18M on a land rover, You apparently have saved up for it just as the case with most guys i know. Well sorry to say-but you will never be rich. So i hope u are just kidding and your last statement about school fees is hilarious |
This is just retarded! I wonder why people get so overly defensive of religious men. We are all human and as such are prone to making mistakes and Adeboye is not above that. So why cant people be allowed to critique him without being called names and sons of Lucifer. |
archay9:Sex is meant for married people? what about people that decide never to get married. I am sorry to say this but some of these points are retarded and they definitely show the warped influence religion has had in the normal thought process of many. I absolutely have no issues with how you decide to live your life nor am i saying religion is not good but pls climb down the mountain top and stop speaking as if you know it all. |
Yeah this has really been an interesting thread, always checking in from time to time to look up the exchanges, Debo and Negro are 2 extremely smart guys- No kidding, am impressed. |
Negro_Ntns:Some of us are actually paying close attention to what you are saying, And you make a lot of sense. However Debosky is one of the smart posters on NL and i read his responses to issues but you have made a good case that has triggered much curiosity as to the source of the said data. However you should try to ignore some other posters on here that have nothing meaningful to post except to hear themselves chatter, Don't take them personal. Meanwhile even if the data were authentic, whats the point being made here? To show that the SE and SS are better educationally than the rest of the country? Well i ask myself what is there to celebrate in the Nigerian tertiary educational system. Me think the whole system needs a serious and emergency overhaul anyway. In a country where the education Minister argued that 80% of University graduates are unemployable as at yesterday, http://www.vanguardngr.com/content/view/29609/43/ - If the Minister happens to be right- then i suppose that graduates from the SE and SS part of the country will constitute a larger chunk of the unemployable army of Graduates in the country too. Well- i happen not to believe what some Minister says or the Federal Government for that matter- They have proven time after time that they have no clue as to what the real problem is. So guys, Lets stop gloating over vain stuff and talk about something else more educative , entertaining and less divisive. |
masawa:You shouldn't generalize the way you did. Are you jealous?, lol |
People get on here for the most part to abuse and curse each other out, I enjoy the drama, Please keep it coming, lol |
igbogolo:@carnal- You visited 15 western countries and this is what you can come up with? , You are being blind to reality my bro! |
banom:Today is a good day and i hope all those responsible for the abuse of our democracy are jailed starting with INEC's head |
@mash2 You are the man! |
Pennywise:Lol, you are so right! |
Kobojunkie:Well i understand most of your points except for the part suggesting that i lead by example by starting the killing personally, Well Bro, i am not suggesting individual acts of killing , that will be murder-I am not that dumb. What i had in my head was a law to be put in place that stipulates death sentence for corruption just like it is for armed robbery. And lastly , i think we have more than enough people with the drive to see things actually change for good, what we lack and what we have never had is to have these people in the position of power to actually effect changes. No matter how much drive you have- if you are not in a position of power to put it to effective use, of what use is that drive except of course for personal success, |
Thor:The thing is that i used to think like you until i relocated to the U.S. I don't know much about the U.K because i have never lived there but i can tell you for a fact that the proportion of Nigerians working odd jobs and those in the professional field vis a vis the U.S general population is the same. And you know what? Most of the Nigerians doing Menial jobs are those with no legal status, overstayed visiting visas and stuff like that. If they happen to have work permit - don't be shocked that Nigerians are more likely to be in professional fields than any other class of immigrants in the U.S because we are one of those with the highest level of education. check out this quote from an article in the Houston Chronicle "Although they make up a tiny portion of the U.S. population, a whopping 17 percent of all Nigerians in this country held master's degrees while 4 percent had a doctorate, according to the 2006 American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau. In addition, 37 percent had bachelor's degrees." And here is the link to that effect http://isteve..com/2008/05/nigerians-are-most-educated-nationality.html |
slimfine:No am not Ugochukwu, I know Doyin, Seyi, Omo Etue, Okozie, Do you know the crowd? Seattle doesn't have a Huge Nigerian population as at the last time am aware, So am sure it wont be affected much by the deluge of Nigerians returning home, lol |
slimfine:Naija Inde party, Last one i attended was in Seattle, used to live in Seattle, attended UW 04. I don't think i met u guys, I searched and looked for Nigerians online but the few responses i got back showed that people thought i was a 419, lol, Well i didn't know any better then trying to use the internet to connect to fellow naija that lived around. @cabali - Yeah i doubt if 500,000 Nigerians will go home at once, I know we are many and it is not really an unrealistic number considering how Nigerians travel during festive period. However the source is a suspect. |
How about we clean up the whole country? stable and dependable electricity, potable water and good roads. Lets just start with those and we would be shocked how the country will transform from the slum it is now to a proper African setting. Mind you - In the process of cleaning up Nigeria and providing these basic amenities - Very few will be jobless because there is so much to clean up. And before people start throwing darts at me for suggesting that all folks should become cleaners, Lets take a backseat and imagine a waste management institution saddled with the responsibilities of effectively managing the waste (both human and industrial) being generated daily in that country. Its gonna be huge, Ok? and Plenty of work. Coming to the roads- Can you imagine a Ministry that is actually into effectively repairing the existing roads and maintaining them? Can you imagine how many people will be working, Dang! Water , electricity, Guys if they are serious about fixing stuff (am not even talking about new projects now, just fixing existing infrastructures in place already), Can you imagine how many people will be at work? And Let no one ask me where the money for all these is going go come from. Let them start by KILLING all those stealing public fund from now on, Hey we are morally decadent, Nigerians are smart and enterprising but sadly we need a strong hand at times to get our azz whooped into line. The Chinese are doing it(executing corrupt officials and look at how far they are going, they have the tendency to be more corrupt than Nigerians), So coming to the issue on this thread, Its all about supply and demand, As long as there are more people chasing after fewer products, the prices are going to be high regardless of the quality of the product. Lagos is still the only entity within the Nigerian state that has leaders trying and attempting to fix things(even if the they are still far from being successful.you can see the determination and genuineness), I commend this and pray for Lagos State and my Country. I love my Country and my heart aches because of where it is today, Nigerians deserve so much more because we are better and smarter than so many people and nationals that are getting so much better deal. |
cabali:I noticed that there is almost a general assumption that all Nigerians that are outside the country did so because they couldn't toughen it out in Nigeria. That is laughable in the sense that I for one used to work in a major oil company in Nigeria, So i was far from suffering, However i was thirsty for more knowledge and ways of life, So i came to the U.S to further my education and i am at present working with a major oil firm in Texas. Now i also know so many of my colleagues from Nigeria, we were either in college together back in naija or have worked together, these were great guys doing well for themselves back home in Nigeria and they are doing just great here in the U.S too. So what the Bleep guys? And coming to you-where did you hear that you cant get a good job with a first degree in the U.S? And if you were referring to Nigerian First degree , Well i know many people here with Nigerian first degree with great professional jobs. Dude Your degree is important but it is more about what you have in your head and what you are aware of. |
Echidime:Me wallowing in poverty?, lol. If your stupid Ass have half of what i have you will be too busy managing that instead of hating on other people. |
Echidime: Whats wrong with them returning to Naija? People are living and have been living in Naija ever since the creation of this World,so whats the noise all about? Are self impose exilist returning from America more valuable and important than true Nigerians living at home?@Echidime (m)- This guy is simply a retard. It is people with your kind of mentality that rule the country , And we are all witnesses to the kind of Nigeria it has become. Shameless slowpoke! |
