Ally has been said to be building a doll empire with her business, Guardian Angel Rainbow Division (G.A.R.D.), which began when she was only 8. As a child, she was inspired to draw guardian angels by her mother and grandfather who always told her her father was watching over her. Soon enough, Ally and her mother decided to turn the sketches into dolls so they could afford comfort to other children as well. Each is designed with different ethnic features and different background stories. Today, the dolls are sold by nearly 20 retailers, with profits benefitting a charity of the buyers choice. At only 17 years old, this teen CEO has the honour of being the youngest to ever open the NASDAQ. The LX has been produced by Lexus since 1996. “LX” stands for “luxury crossover,” which is a bit misleading considering this is actually the company’s full-size model. The LX 570 features a 5.7 liter V-8 engine and a six speed transmission. It is capable of pushing out 383 total horsepower. The 2014 model has an added feature known as Crawl Control. When the Crawl Control is activated, anti-lock brakes kick in and the car becomes controlled by the 570′s internal computer. When the terrain becomes too intense, the driver does not need to worry at all, they just need to be able to steer the car.

Nigeria has confirmed an additional case of the Ebola virus disease, bringing the total confirmed cases to 11.

Minister of Health, Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu told a press briefing in Abuja that the death toll has also risen to 3. The death include the Liberian who imported the disease a, Nigerian nurse and protocol officer working with Ecowas who is also a Nigerian.

Professor Onyebuchi also said all those positive with the EVD had primary contact with the Liberian man and the disease is still limited to Lagos state only.

He also said the number of those on surveillance is now 175, down from 177 at the beginning of the week, adding that all those on surveillance had only secondary contact.

Among those on surveillance are six people in Enugu state, who had contact with one of the nurses.

It has been 26 days since EVD was reported in Nigeria, and some of those on surveillance who did not develop symptoms or who tested negative to the virus have been left off the radar.

 

ZMapp

Meanwhile, the National Health Research Ethics Committee in Nigeria has approved the use of ZMapp for the treatment of patients infected with the virus.

The approval was contained in a statement issued by Prof. Clement Adebamowo, chairman of the committee yesterday in Abuja, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has reported.

The decision by the committee is coming on the heels of Tuesday’s approval by WHO on the use of ZMapp for treatment of Ebola patients.

“It is ethical to use these treatments in the current situation without first submitting an application to national, state or institutional health research ethics committee for prior review and approval.

“In addition, the committee waives the current requirement that international shipment of any biological samples out of Nigeria should be preceded by the establishment of a Materials Transfer Agreement.

“This waiver is to promote rapid international response to this global emergency,” the statement said.

In the statement, the Nigerian National Code for Health Research Ethics emphasised that all innovative and non-validated treatments should be carefully and adequately documented.

According to the statement, the documentation could form the basis for clinical trials of the efficacy and side effects of the treatment, according to established scientific principles.

The ethics committee enjoined all agencies, development partners and research scientists to follow the guidelines for the rapid resolution of the current emergency, the statement said.

“The guidelines will contribute to preparedness in case of future occurrences and contribution to scientific knowledge.

“It must be noted that all Phase 0 and Phase 1 Clinical Trials that may subsequently be designed for treatment of this infection can be approved only by the National Health Research Ethics Committee,” it said.


In a related development, the Dangote Foundation has given 150 million Naira to fund the emergency operation system launched by the Nigerian government.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the suspension of scheduled stream two orientation programme of the 2014 Batch ‘B’ Orientation in six states billed to start on Monday, Nation reports.

The Director General of the NYSC, Brig Gen Johnson Olawumi who announced the decision in Kubwa Orientation Camp in the Federal Capital Territory said the corps members deployed to Adamawa, Bauchi, Jigawa, Borno, Gombe, and Yobe States will be affected by the directive.

Olawumi however assured the prospective corps members that they would not suffer unduly as the NYSC would ensure that they were not cheated in any way by staying longer than necessary at home.

L.A.X kick started his professional career in 2011 when he got signed to M2 Records far away in the UK while juggling it with academics at the same time. He had done songs like Pamurege and Ja Ye featuring Ice Prince whose glories failed to live up to expectation but by 2013, he became Wizkid’s first signee to Starboy Entertainment and Caro - his debut feature under the label alongside Wizkid, shot him into beaming limelight. The upbeat track gathered generous buzz and stayed on music/video charts for a long while. The frenzy lingered up till when he released Ginger - another sure club banger tailored after Caro’s success and featuring Wizkid. While it seems L.A.X is comfortable with taking all the time in the world to push his career (and with a platform like Starboy), he intends to keep releasing singles with the sole aim of easing himself gradually into the music world. BOJ first attained fame from the popular music group DRBLasGidi. Having connected with his musical prospects, he decided to flag off a solo music career. BOJ possesses a [articular uniqueness to his vocal and music styling. His husky tone gives him a different edge over colleagues in the field who combat with tenors of varying ranges. BOJ’s breaking point would be the release of his mixtape BOTM – BOJ On The Microphone where he showed a variety of creative sounds with features from Ajebutter22, Lola Rae, Lynxxx, Efya and more. He’s also worked on collaborations with Dammy Krane, Ozone, ODH and Naeto C as well as some cameo features in music videos. He is currently signed to Asa Asika’s music management company.

Shaydee boi is one very vocally talented artiste. His nightingale-ish vocals can literally strike melodious chords deep down in your heart. His stint with Empire Mates Entertainment though brief, was very well enjoyed. He blessed us with gyration songs from the label’s compilation album such that when the gist about severing ties with the label company filtered in, we soliloquized about what would become of his career. But as expected, Shaydee bounced back from the topsy-turvy affair. He resurfaced with Won Gbo Mi featuring Starboy Wizkid and then gave an early Valentine gift Ti E Nikan. The most talked about of his vocal features will be Seyi Shay’s celebrated track Murda where he lent his vocals alongside Patoranking. Shaydee is also exceptionally skilled in the song-writing art, having penned down the lyrics to chart-topping songs by many a-list acts. Overall, this guy so good… he bad like that!
