Lol. U see, my system board i believe can accommodate quadro P5000. And if the need arises i can easily introduce it. But as i said u need not be so happy of gpu while rubbish all other components with respect to overall performance. Just look at the blade servers use by the banking industry, each cost around 7 to 10 millions or more depending on the specs. The most efficient components in it are the ssd and the ram plus the cpu but not the gpu. Don't generalize that once u have a better gpu and some few rams ur system rocks. No, it depends on what u wanna use it for. At this juncture, good luck with ur system.

Ntel does not throttle anymore... I've been following this thread for months now but never commented. After those two weeks of 65KBps throttling after 3Gb download, they stopped it. I've downloaded almost 200Gb since then without being throttled. Granted, the speeds are faster at night as usual, but during the day you can still stream 480p videos without buffering and 720pHD(about 80% of the time). Night speeds are between 1-1.6MBps(doesnt exceed this for some reason) which is perfectly fine for heavy downloads. Ping times also improved(for those into online gaming). In battlefield one, I'm able to maintain a ping of less than 150ms(130~150) most of the time which is a far cry from what it use to be(200ms>. So please everyone should stop bickering, they've fixed their sh*t.

If this is true, i might be willing to take a second look at Ntel. Can anyone confirm this tho?

Ntel called me to tell me they had fixed something, i didn't believe them nor test tho.

He is an engineer but his work require him to have a very fast data transfer card. . It's understandable that he opt for more ssd and more ram .. on a normal day he doesn't need high end graphics .. what he is no ready to accept is that your graphics is by farrrrrrrrrr better than his own

I will chose your laptop over his laptop even as an engineer because ssd and ram is replaceable. . GPU is not ...he is just bein sentimental
The reason why he invest on ssd and ram is understandable but it doesn't change the fact that your laptop is by far better .. and the ssd he is talking about is being sold at the rate of 1100$
My pm51 ssd is 450$ and it's two on my alienware

Mhen. Once your GPU and CPU are alright. Everything else is minor. GTX 1060 dah is not even smiling. Still amazes me how well this thing runs!

A really expensive SSD will not make ur GPU nor CPU out perform mine if i put in a VERY CHEAP 2.5 inch SSD. Do you know this?

Anything that can be added/upgraded. I don't really rate it. CPU and GPU are the main things. I can swap out my 16 for 32 even tho i won't do it. Don't need to. SHDD for SSD or basically just permanently dedicate an external HDD to the computer. Battery, lol. My laptop falls short there. But i don't need too much battery for what i do. 1.5 hrs a day is enough for my IMPORTANT work.

Plus, if you want Horsepower​, u gotta stay plugged in anyways

My card is in class 2. And it's sufficient for my work at the moment. And what my work relies on is the ssd and the ram which ur card can't deliver. I am not that dumb who spends money on what is not useful. By now I'm sure u know my ssd alone cost just few thousands below the total cost of ur system and it delivers . Well, i am an IT/engineering guy and i power around 5 to 6 guest OS on my windows 10 host laptop. Redhat, Ubuntu, server 2012, windows 7, SAP on server2008 and Kali Linux.

Errrrmmm... I have a Samsung PCIe Gen 3x4 NVMe SSD installed and 16Gigs of DDR4 RAM. Lol.

Well, what laptop means to u is graphics. Do u know the cost of the ECE-800NAS enterprise ssd and the performance it delivers? Do u know the cost of just 32gb workstation Ram and the performance it delivers and the cost of the quadro card. Overall performance is what a computer means to me. In short, no serious engineering firm would go for your system. Ask what company like mobil, chevron, saipem etc. use for their engineering design.

Okay. I'm not an engineer. I'm an IT guy. In the end, people buy computers by pocket and not by best. If i could, i would GTX 1080. But i can't.

However, i will still say. GPU horse power, GTX 1060 will mop the floor with your card. @Singapore1 abi i lie?

I honestly don't know alot about Quadro cards. Notebookcheck are very trusted. I don't know more than Notebookcheck.

These benchmarks below will show you how Powerful the GTX 1060 is compared to the 970M. Too bad they didn't add the 980M to it.

Lol. What is listed above the 1060 is the GTX GeForce 980 (Laptop) not 980[b]M[/b]. See the difference? one is 980, one is 980M.
1060 is better than 980M. Look down after 1060 to find 980M.

And the list is accurate as can be. Some cards are pretty much equal but just can't stay on the same rank so they find the smallest difference to rank it higher.

In real life performance, you will find out that 1060, 980M and 970 desktop are pretty much same performance. With 1060 just tipping ahead slightly.

I'm guessing what you have is the 4GB Nvidia Quadro M1200. Because that is a Class 2 Card. Not even better the one on my old Dell.

And that would put GTX 1060 somewhere around 60-70% better.

It all depends on what you want your machine to do for you. Like my zbook isn't for game but engineering design and the price of my specs it's just a bit above a million naira. And the specs of a dream colour display is almost 2M or more. Ur machine is great but no match for my work or my zbook.

The idea is... A computer that can game right can do everything 'horse-power' related right. As long as your card isn't better than the GTX 1060, my card will still render those designs better and faster. So, what card is in your 1M naira Zbook?

Mine is high up the Class 1 ranks.
